Kjetil Skogli sends the picture from Tromsø, Norway, 300 miles inside the Arctic circle. "The auroras were so bright," says Skogli. "It was great to see them again after a long summer of midnight suns." With autumn approaching, the night sky is darkening enough for bright auroras to punch through the glare. "I'm looking forward to more," he says.

More are in the offing. NOAA forecasters estimate a 50% chance of geomagnetic activity during the next 24 hours as a high-speed solar wind stream continues to buffet Earth's magnetic field. High-latitude sky watchers should remain alert for auroras.

Fire lantern the size of a jumbo? Awesome report!

last November I was lucky enough to get a close look at what could only have been a U.F.O. A friend and I were in the car and had just passed Chiswick flyover and were Theheading towards Hammersmith. I happened to look up at the sky and saw three stationary orange globes, each the size of a jumbo jet. The globes appeared to be made up of a large mass of random filaments and were clearly an excited plasma which glowed with same hue as the low pressure sodium lights skirting the motor way. the filaments appeared to be spinning and moving at high velocities as we drove under one of the globes I could clearly see a hexagonal metal craft with port holes doors and large windows. The plasma seemed to shoot out of a hole in the center at the top of the hexagonal craft and then arc round and down to the bottom of the craft where it entered into the central hole to be accelerated again out of the top of the craft, thus creating the globe effect, which the craft remained immersed within. the shape of the globe reminded me of the shape of the earth's magnetic field. It was a closed system, its energy remained trapped in that repeated cycle

We pulled over by the Coca cola building in Hammersmith and got out of the car, and as we did so one of the object scame over to us to investigate us, it was weird they were as interested in us as we were them. It came to a stop about 40meters above this time the plasmoid globe was not bright orange, it was in fact not emmiting any light so we got a close look at the craft.
It was made of a sort of battleship grey coloured metal, it was big, double decked but moved with precision, and made no noise, and did not disturb the leaves of the tree it flew over.

Now after racking my brains there are four possible explications to how the craft maintained flight.
The first is density; the plasma bubble in which it sat would have been less dense than the surrounding air, so it would be able to fly rather like a hot air balloon.

Propulsion. the external field could have been guiding not just the plasma but also some of the surrounding air in such a manner as to provide lift and thrust

Electro static and magnetic. This was clearly an electric vehicle; Two plates with the same charge repel whereas opposite charges attract. The craft could have been using this principle, and the earths electrostatic and electromagnetic field to navigate

Anti gravity, objects seem to loose their weight when placed above super conducting spinning magnets,the craft was immersed within a bubble of high velocity spinning superconducting plasma?

Now I am not a scientist so I cannot tell you which of the four above enabled the craft to fly, my hunch is that it was either anti grav or electro stat/mag. I say this because it did not seem to interact in any way with its surroundings (the leaves on the tree below) and it seemed to move with a grace and control that I have never seen, Even birds cannot move like this thing moved..

It finally moved away in a shooting movement, regaining its orange hue the words it at once became a pearl in the sky rang through my ears..........

Scientists have various names for this phenomena and research has been taking place for over sixty years. GEOMAGNETIC STORM--MORE TO COME? The solar storm of August 1st sent two CMEs toward Earth. The first one arrived yesterday, August 3rd, sparking mild but beautiful Northern Lights over Europe and North America (see below). The second CME is still en route. NOAA forecasters estimate a 35% chance of major geomagnetic storms when the cloud arrives on August 4th or 5th. High-latitude sky watchers should remain alert for auroras.

NORTHERN LIGHTS: A coronal mass ejection (CME) hit Earth's magnetic field on August 3rd at 1740 UT. The impact sparked a G2-class geomagnetic storm that lasted nearly 12 hours--time enough for auroras to spread all the way from Europe to North America. COMPLEX ERUPTION ON THE SUN: On August 1st, the entire Earth-facing side of the sun erupted in a tumult of activity. There was a C3-class solar flare, a solar tsunami, multiple filaments of magnetism lifting off the stellar surface, large-scale shaking of the solar corona, radio bursts, a coronal mass ejection and more. This serious-looking equation gave SETI a serious footing as a legitimate intellectual inquiry. The problem, of course, is that none of the terms can be known, and most cannot even be estimated. The only way to work the equation is to fill in with guesses. And guesses-just so we’re clear-are merely expressions of prejudice.

Nor can there be “informed guesses.” If you need to state how many planets with life choose to communicate, there is simply no way to make an informed guess. It’s simply prejudice.

As a result, the Drake equation can have any value from “billions and billions” to zero. An expression that can mean anything means nothing. Speaking precisely, the Drake equation is literally meaningless, and has nothing to do with science. I take the hard view that science involves the creation of testable hypotheses. The Drake equation cannot be tested and therefore SETI is not science. SETI is unquestionably a religion.

Faith is defined as the firm belief in something for which there is no proof. The belief that the Koran is the word of God is a matter of faith. The belief that God created the universe in seven days is a matter of faith. The belief that there are other life forms in the universe is a matter of faith. There is not a single shred of evidence for any other life forms, and in forty years of searching, none has been discovered.There is absolutely no evidentiary reason to maintain this belief. SETI is a religion.

One way to chart the cooling of enthusiasm is to review popular works on the subject. In 1964, at the height of SETI enthusiasm, Walter Sullivan of the NY Times wrote an exciting book about life in the universe entitled WE ARE NOT ALONE. By 1995, when Paul Davis wrote a book on the same subject, he titled it ARE WE ALONE? ( Since 1981, there have in fact been four books titled ARE WE ALONE.) More recently we have seen the rise of the so-called “Rare Earth” theory which suggests that we may, in fact, be all alone.

Again, there is no evidence either way."

Back in the sixties, SETI had its critics, although not among astrophysicists and astronomers. The biologists and paleontologists were harshest. George Gaylord Simpson of Harvard sneered that SETI was a “study without a subject,” and it remains so to the present day. But scientists in general have been indulgent toward SETI, viewing it either with bemused tolerance, or with indifference. After all, what’s the big deal? It’s kind of fun. If people want to look, let them. Only a curmudgeon would speak harshly of SETI. It wasn’t worth the bother.

And of course, it is true that untestable theories may have heuristic value. Of course, extraterrestrials are a good way to teach science to kids. But that does not relieve us of the obligation to see the Drake equation clearly for what it is-pure speculation in quasi-scientific trappings.

The fact that the Drake equation was not greeted with screams of outrage-similar to the screams of outrage that greet each Creationist new claim, for example-meant that now there was a crack in the door, a loosening of the definition of what constituted legitimate scientific procedure. And soon enough, pernicious garbage began to squeeze through the cracks. [End of extract]

Hate to mention it but the number 40 has come up again in the outside count, confirming this number as a very clear message from the CC makers, they seem to know the systems of biblical numerology that have been in place for thousands of years? Funny that. [...]

In the United Kingdom however, November 11 is better known for being Remembrance Day 

From the late 4th century CE to the late middle Ages, much of Western Europe, including Great Britain, engaged in a period of fasting beginning on the day after St. Martin's Day, November 11. This fast period lasted 40 days, and was, therefore, called "Quadragesima Sancti Martini", which means in Latin... 

 "The forty days of St. Martin."

At St. Martin's eve, people ate and drank very heartily for a last time before they started to fast. This period of fasting was later shortened and called "Advent" by the Church. 

So I would say the CC makers are delivering a harsh message of purification or fasting which is upon us... 

The 11th hour...? Also November seems strong with this CC message.
