The New Cosmic Age is now Official!
According to Richard Fisher, head of NASA’s Heliophysics Division:
"Earth and space are about to come into contact in a way that's new to human history."
"I believe we’re on the threshold of a new era in which space weather can be as influential in our daily lives as ordinary terrestrial weather."
"We take this very seriously indeed."

Brit pub's ghostly cowboy caught on video
Sindh Today.net, 27th February 2009
"London, Feb 27 (ANI): The ghostly figure of a cowboy, who walks in front of a roaring fire in a pub in Britain, has been captured on video. What can be seen of the ghost are a Stetson style hat and a waistcoat, and locals believe that paranormal forces are responsible for it. The ghostly figure was caught on a new mobile phone, when its video mode was being tested, and it was only visible after the recording was played back.
Comment: In the old days, well not that long ago actually, consciousness researchers use to have to 'sensitise' their digital cameras in order to capture multi-dimensional phenomena. Yet now, something fundamental has changed. Anybody can point a brand new camera in any direction and find something interesting! Our reality is changing dramatically and I wonder how some will cope.
Ugly' Bald Cat Wins Fans At NH Vet Clinic
Feline's Unusual Appearance Captivates Vet Clients
clickorlando.com, 27th February 2009
"The cat's full name is Ugly Bat Boy. He's bald in most places except for flowing fur on his chest, and he spends his days on a warm computer at Exeter Veterinary Hospital, reported WMUR-TV in Manchester, N.H. Bat Boy has become something of a local star. People come in and take pictures of him on their cell phones," said veterinary employee Christie Hartnett. "He's just great. He's Dr. (Stephen) Bassett's little wonder cat."
Comment: Be warned....the first picture in the gallery is quite scary.... This bits funny....'Bat Boy has a nice disposition and real inner beauty.....' yes, but he's still ugly! LOL!!
Space Weather Prediction Center moves the solar cycle goalpost again
Watts Up With That, 26th February 2009
"SWPC has just made a change in their solar cycle predictions in the middle of the month without any preannouncement. Both Sunspot and F10.7cm predictions were altered significantly."
Comment: Hmmm.... This is our Sun that all life on this planet depends on and it is behaving in a unprecedented and unexpected manner. What's more, the research from the 1980s tells us that a Sun without sunspots actually delivers more "transported energy" contrary to all expectations, so it seems that our scientists are just now being totally confounded.
Japan's boffins: Global warming isn't man-made Climate science is 'ancient astrology',
The Register, 25th February 2009
"Exclusive Japanese scientists have made a dramatic break with the UN and Western-backed hypothesis of climate change in a new report from its Energy Commission. Three of the five researchers disagree with the UN's IPCC view that recent warming is primarily the consequence of man-made industrial emissions of greenhouse gases. Remarkably, the subtle and nuanced language typical in such reports has been set aside. One of the five contributors compares computer climate modelling to ancient astrology. Others castigate the paucity of the US ground temperature data set used to support the hypothesis, and declare that the unambiguous warming trend from the mid-part of the 20th Century has ceased. The report by Japan Society of Energy and Resources (JSER) is astonishing rebuke to international pressure, and a vote of confidence in Japan's native marine and astronomical research. Publicly-funded science in the West uniformly backs the hypothesis that industrial influence is primarily responsible for climate change, although fissures have appeared recently. Only one of the five top Japanese scientists commissioned here concurs with the man-made global warming hypothesis."
Comment: It's a sign of the times when even the normally polite Japanese take the knife out to the IPCC!! Note the comment about the US ground temperature data set, they must have been following Anthony Watt's series, How not to measure temperature! LOL!!
UFO 'looked like a plane on fire' [UK]
Helensburgh Advertiser, 25th February 2009
"A HELENSBURGH man, washing his dishes on Monday, looked out of his kitchen window and thought he saw a plane about to crash. But now he is looking to hear from anyone else who saw the strange phenomenon which he now believes was a UFO. Lewis Graham, a graphic artist, was working at the sink in his Lomond Street flat just before seven o'clock when he saw the fiery red object pass across the window. He said: "At first I thought it was a plane on fire or a helicopter. Then I thought it was an asteroid descending! "It was silent and appeared to have a single red light to the rear. It must have been really low as there was nearly 100 per cent cloud cover. "It remained stationery over what I reckon was Cardross then got dimmer and vanished. "I've never seen anything like it and at one point I panicked and thought about taking cover as I thought it was going to plummet down to earth!" He added: "I noticed other people stopping in the street to look and some even stopped their cars and got out. [...]
He went on: "I am a keen amateur astronomer and I know my stars and planets but until now I have always been an unbeliever when it comes to UFOs but now I believe.""
Comment: We have another good example of the arrival of magnetospheric plasmoid that a witness believes is a plane that hovers before it enters the Earth. It's interesting that the witness here believes the entity is about to plummet, but then states it just gets dimmer and fades away. This is a slight variation to other examples, but close enough to be added to other accounts. Really we need more examples on video! It's quite good that the witness states his amateur astronomer credentials and is quite philosophical about his experience after his initial panic and now states that he is a believer in UFOs.
Space debris, comets and asteroids threaten Earth
RIA Novosti, 25th February 2009
"Scientists are particularly concerned about the potentially hazardous asteroid 99942 Apophis, which will fly close to Earth in 2029. Russian astronomer Sergei Smirnov said the asteroid with a diameter of 600 meters spelled nothing good for geostationary telecommunications platforms, due to be launched by that time. In 2012, Apophis will pass close enough to Earth, enabling scientists to more accurately calculate its 2029 orbit."
Comment: I love Russian press releases, they always tantalise because the translations are never quite 100% clear! Anyway, here I believe we are being told that the asteroid Aphopis will impact geostationary telecommunications platforms when it passes by in 2012, my assumption is that there will be some kind of tidal effect. More anticipated chaos in 2012!
Dumpus Maximus
Watts Up With That, 25th February 2009
"Here is a weather curiosity. We've been hearing a lot about snowfall in the northern hemisphere this year. In Oslo, they have given up on trying to pile it up so they have resorted to dumping it in the sea. [...] There is so much snow in Oslo, where I live, that the city authorities are resorting to dumping truckloads of it in the sea because the usual storage sites on land are full. That is angering environmentalists who say the snow is far too dirty – scraped up from polluted roads — to be added to the fjord."
Comment: Yes, those were the days when I lived in Oslo to open the door in the morning and the snow has come off roof and you would walk into thigh high snow. Then the chore of having to clear the snow off the drive to get the car our of the garage and the kids off to school. You soon get fed up of snow until there is a beautiful bright sunny blue sky day and then the world is wonderful!
Botched launch ends U.S. satellite's mission
Reuters News, 24th February 2009
"CANAVERAL, Florida - The U.S. government's first attempt to map carbon dioxide in Earth's atmosphere from space ended early on Tuesday after a botched satellite launch from California, officials said. The $278 million Orbiting Carbon Observatory blasted off aboard an unmanned Taurus rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base at 4:55 a.m. EST (0955 GMT), headed for an orbital perch about 400 miles above the poles. The 986-pound (447-kg) spacecraft was tucked inside a clamshell-like shroud to protect it during the ride into space. But three minutes into the flight, the cover failed to separate as expected, dooming the mission. "As a direct result of carrying that extra weight we could not make orbit," said John Brunschwyler, the Taurus program manager with manufacturer Orbital Sciences Corp. The spacecraft, also built by Orbital Sciences, fell back to Earth, splashing down into the southern Pacific Ocean near Antarctica.
Comment: Whoops! Well, launching satellites is a precarious business and the failure rate is high. Satellites are often launched by the 'sling-shot' method that can often 'miss' the correct orbit... but these days with space weather, satellites are subject to atmospheric drag where they can drop 1/2 miles in their orbit and can even wander miles off, so maybe some of these failures can become useable..... eventually. Whatever, this launch is a stunning failure but at least it did not become the latest piece of space junk.
Anger really can kill you, U.S. study shows
Reuters, 24th February 2009
"Anger and other strong emotions can trigger potentially deadly heart rhythms in certain vulnerable people, U.S. researchers said on Monday. [...]
"Our study starts to look at how does this really affect the electrical system of the heart," Lampert said. She and colleagues studied 62 patients with heart disease and implantable heart defibrillators or ICDs that can detect dangerous heart rhythms or arrhythmias and deliver an electrical shock to restore a normal heart beat. "These were people we know already had some vulnerability to arrhythmia," Lampert said in a telephone interview.
[...] "We found in the lab setting that yes, anger did increase this electrical instability in these patients," she said.
Comment: Scientists have been studying these electrical patterns generated in the heart for over 50 years but without much success. However, here the research shows a connection for those with heart abnormalities with their anger. making them more susceptible to heart attacks. In my book, I reveal the connection between resonating with higher frequencies and the harmonious electrical patterns made with the heart.
'Sprites' may explain UFO sightings
JTA News, 23rd February 2009
Full Story: "JERUSALEM (JTA) -- A natural phenomenon called "sprites" may offer an explanation for UFO sightings, a Tel Aviv University professor said. Sprites, a flash of light high in the atmosphere 35 to 80 miles from the ground and up to 10 times higher than a regular lightning bolt, last for a fraction of second and only occur during thunderstorms, according to Professor Colin Price, head of the Geophysics and Planetary Sciences Department at the university. The phenomenon has existed for millions of years, but was first discovered and documented in 1989. "Sprites, which only occur in conjunction with thunderstorms, never occur on their own and are cousins to similar natural phenomenon dubbed by atmospheric electricians as 'elves,' 'goblins' and 'trolls,'" Price said. Price and his students are working in collaboration with other Israeli scientists from The Open University and The Hebrew University to take three-dimensional pictures of sprites to gain a better understanding of their structure, using remote-controlled, roof-mounted cameras overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
Comment: Thank Goodness! A scientist who has realised that many UFOs sightings could be plasma phenomena! The issue is that we are in unchartered waters as our planet becomes more and more saturated with plasma/universal energies and it takes scientists some time to catalogue new variations of atmospheric plasma phenomena. However, NASA has already admitted that the ionosphere is 'extraordinarily low' so it could be that sprites are appearing much closer to the ground and more visible to the general public. Yet, from reports on the ground, there seems to be a spectrum of plasma entities or light beings appearing as our reality morphs and the dimensions merge......
Church Risks Complicity in Climate Change, Warns
Christian Today, 23rd February 2009
"The church will be complicit in the destruction, poverty and injustice caused by climate change if it does not take radical and united action to demand cuts in the carbon emissions that threaten God's creation. This is the message of a provocative new book by Paula Clifford, Head of Theology at Christian Aid, who recently served a year-long secondment to Lambeth Palace as Special Adviser to the Archbishop of Canterbury on Climate Change. 'Angels with Trumpets: The Church in a Time of Global Warming' is published by Darton, Longman and Todd this week. In it Dr Clifford draws heavily on the book of Revelation to provide a theological critique of the church's approach to climate change – and finds the actions of the Christian community to date less than adequate. "The science of climate change is not in dispute. Christians cannot close their eyes to it – for indifference is as dangerous as denial," she says. "Instead, we must look at what 'Love thy Neighbour' really means at a time of global warming."
Comment: When I was about 15 and went to a pentecostal church, I was told that Jesus would return by 1985! Actually, the 'Christ' energies arrived in 1989 and have been increasing ever since. Like any esoteric text, the Bible was written on two levels, on one level for the initiates and another level for everybody else. Unfortunately, over the millenia, nobody now has the complete truth because of all the 'revisions' that have taken place. So now most Christians and those in esoteric groups don't even realise that global warming is only a symptom of rapid evolutionary change, that will enforce higher levels of consciousness and promote higher levels of spirituality. I have been A Seeker for 30 years, well I started Sunday school at 5 so maybe that's 40 years. Whatever, Christians need to understand the true nature of our reality, before they can work out an appropriate response. My question to Christians is: What is the Holy Spirit?
Northern lights are quietest in decades
Fairbanks Daily News-Miner, 23rd February 2009
"There's nothing; it's really disappointing," Zimmerman said. "I've got my digital camera. I'm ready. Let's go." Zimmerman isn't the only one wondering where the aurora borealis, commonly referred to as northern lights, are this winter. The Interior's normal wintertime light show has been noticeably absent this winter. [...] "We are at the solar minimum," the UAF professor said. "When solar activity dies down like this, the aurora activity also diminishes in the north." Aurora borealis, a curtain-like, luminous glow in the upper atmosphere, is caused when energy particles from the sun collide with the Earth's magnetic field."
Comment: Well, there may not be much auroral activity, but instead the planet is being hammered with a whole spectrum of other energies, some of which are spectacular or even out of this world! LOL!!
Calls Mount for Obama to Fire NASA Climate Chief
CO2 Sceptics, 23rd February 2009
"Calls are mounting for President Barack Obama to fire James Hansen, the controversial figure in charge of climate studies at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Hansen has a record of allegedly doctoring temperature data to hype his argument that global warming is a crisis. The new calls for his resignation or termination come following his appearance in a video calling for civil disobedience at a protest at a power plant in Washington, DC. "It is plainly improper for someone on the U.S. government payroll to advocate civil disobedience on behalf of a non-government advocacy group," said Dan Miller, executive vice president of The Heartland Institute and former chairman of the Illinois Commerce Commission. "As long as a public official is on the public payroll, his first loyalty is to his constituency, not to some outside pressure group calling on people to break the law," Miller said."
Comment: See also, Call for Mass Civil Disobedience Against Coal Well, like Al Gore, some people are realising that something momentous is happening to our world, but they have foolishly bought into the "green" business concept of reducing CO2. The way things stand now, the cap and trade/carbon trading ideas will make lots of money for some, but not necessarily stop climate change, which is only part of the bigger picture of evolutionary change. Whatever, some people are facing old memories of previous disaster scenarios on Earth and their fears are genuine. Nobody can argue that we need to clean-up our environment, but even some of the most ardent environmentalists have now realised that their genuine love and concern for the Earth has been hijacked by big business, politicians and climate scientists like Hansen with misguided ideas.
Cardinals turn on Pope Invisible The pontiff is facing dissent over his distant, regal style
The Times, 23rd February 2009
"IN the hushed Apostolic Palace off St Peter's Square, Pope Benedict XVI starts the day with a 7am mass in his private chapel, followed by a lone breakfast. No press summary is brought to him. He meets a few visitors in the morning and then, after a lunch served on gold-rimmed plates bearing his seal, retires to his study to write speeches and read theological works throughout the afternoon and evening. The Pope's daily routine, as described by Vatican insiders, is being blamed for a series of blunders that have prompted a rare show of dissent from exasperated cardinals. Critics claim he is leading the church and its 1.2 billion faithful like a monarch cut off from the world outside his palace windows, helped only by loyal but inept advisers."
Comment: Off-topic.These days I don't have time to read books about the history of the Catholic Church, but from what I already know, this Pope is now doomed and I suspect many will now be placing bets as to the manner of his demise.....
Climate change rhetoric spirals out of control
The Telegraph, 21st February 2009
"It was another bad week for the "warmists", now more desperate than ever to whip up alarm over an overheating planet."
Comment: A round up of a few topical subjects, but it only gets a mention because of Christopher Booker's hilarious commentary and a quote about Galileo, the EU's rival to the US GPS satellite system. The quote here is priceless. "Although I have regularly reported on this joke project since 2001, almost the only time it has excited much media interest in Britain was when, in 2007, the late Gwyneth Dunwoody described it as "not one pig flying in orbit, this is a herd of pigs with gold trotters, platinum tails and diamond eyes". The Commons Transport Committee, of which she was chairman, had produced a report suggesting that Galileo would cost British taxpayers at least £1.7 billion, and was so pointless that it might as well be scrapped." This makes the failure of Giove-B satellite that was knocked off line by Space Weather (reported 1st October 2008, see archives) and in the middle of a particularly deep solar minimum, seem even more noteworthy. Well, with expectations of worsening Space Weather, we will have to see how long these pigs fly....
Now well over 30 days without a cycle 24 sunspot
Watts Up With That, 21st February 2009
Comment: The only reason for this entry is the comments and the discussion in the forum about the Sun being a spherical plasma generator, which underscores just how far the scientific community have woken up to the reality that we live in a Plasma Universe. However the comment by Geoff Pohanka (07:55:18) is priceless: "The real problem is that the policy in makers in Washington are desperate to enact stong environmental legislation and have been making even more outlandish statements about the environment to whip people up in order to cram their legislation through before the truth is known about the drivers of the climate. They do not want to wait to see which wins, CO2 or the sun. They probably fear that CO2 isnt the driver but they dont want to give up the power the control of CO2 gives them. I think there is a parallel here with J.R.R. Tolkein's books "Lord of the Rings". The ring had an alluring power, it was the ring of power. One ring to rule them all, one ring to bind them. I think the ring of power is CO2. C…O…2, with the O being this modern day ring, When you control CO2 you control everything living on earth." Quite an interesting analogy.
Fireball lights up sky and causes jaws to drop
Star Bulletin, 20th February 2009
"It was a show-stopper for Gregory McCartney, who runs an evening outdoor astronomy education and entertainment program at Ko Olina. The NASA Solar System ambassador and board member for the University of Hawaii Friends of the Institute for Astronomy Council had about 18 people at a star show that night. He said they were waiting for Saturn to come into view at about 9:05 p.m. "when all of a sudden, out of nowhere this streaking bullet of a meteor comes ripping across the sky over the Marriott Beach Club timeshare building (from the east) heading downwards at a 45-degree angle towards the ocean (the west)." He was facing north when he saw it, he said, explaining he usually yells out to the crowd when he sees a "shooting star." "However, as this meteor came closer to the crowd about two palm trees in height, it suddenly lit up brighter than a full moon as in a glow larger than I'd say a house," he wrote in an e-mail. "I mean, this thing was the largest, brightest meteor I had ever seen. "It was literally white hot and amazingly clear white - not like milk color, but more like a glossy brilliance. As it went over a palm tree, this time I instinctively yelled, 'Look out!' as it seemed we were about to be hit. "Then it lit up into a brilliant clear blue color for a split second, then a brilliant red and disappeared." McCartney and his clients were not alone in witnessing the heavenly phenomenon. People elsewhere on Oahu and throughout the nation reported seeing similar events.
The Federal Aviation Administration had calls from media across the country asking about flashes in the sky that night, a spokesman said, adding that he believed it was a "meteorological phenomenon."
Comment: Incredible! This "fireball" was so close for some witnesses that they thought they were going to get hit, but it just 'disappeared' instead and they were NOT showered with any debris! This account is from an event organised by astronomers who routinely watch the skies, but in this case, all authorities could state was this was a "meteorological phenomenon." Guess what folks, we are in completely unchartered waters, our planet is being pummelled by energies that we don't understand, yet we have been warned by metaphysical sources that this is all part of the planetary upgrade process. Incredible! WHEN WILL THE PUBLIC REALISE THAT SOMETHING EXTRAORDINARY IS HAPPENING?
Electrical storm signatures could make tornado test
New Scientist News, 20th February 2009
"Tornado hunters may have a new, unlikely ally – electricity. Armed with only an antenna mounted on top of a vehicle and a simple receiver, researchers have been able to pick up low-frequency electromagnetic waves – a possible sign that a tornado is brewing." The frequency of the signal should even be able to tell them the ferocity of the storm.
Comment: Well, this is absolutely no surprise to scientists who have long worked out that tornadoes are an electrical phenomena with hyperdimensional components. Note this unsubstantiated nonsense, "When dust particles picked up by the storm and droplets rub against each other, they become oppositely charged. The lighter particles, which are mostly negative, get blown to the top of the funnel, while the heavier positive ones sink to the bottom, they say." I have never seen a reference to a single experiment that proves this to be true. The only good thing about this article is the reference to tornado hunters who are doing a dangerous but necessary job in helping us to understand the behaviour of tornadoes, and hopefully this knowledge can be used to save lives.
UFO's spotted over Worksop
Worksop Guardian, 20th February 2009
STRANGE lights in the sky yesterday caused one Worksop man to think that UFOs might be coming to town. Pete Godley, 28, of Harrington Street, spotted 'an orange glow' above his house and could not explain what it was.
"There was an octagon shape of lights and they all went out one by one with a big one left glowing in the middle," he said. "I was absolutely gobsmacked as I just can't think what it was apart from being a UFO."
"I'm not usually one to believe in these things but it certainly wasn't a plane, or anything." Comment: Well, if the theory of multi-dimensional theory is correct, this man has witnessed some of the most divine energy on the planet and in Worksop! Extraordinary times!! Whatever, there are quite a few pictures of 'diamond rain' around.
Mystery as sparrows drop dead
stuff.co.nz, 20th February 2009
"Hundreds of sparrows littered New Plymouth's main street yesterday, shocking business owners arriving at work and baffling a bird expert. The drenched birds were dropping like flies from two trees on the Hill on Devon St West after a deluge of rain. Autopsies will be done on some of the dead birds to see if foul play was involved. [...] Ornithologist David Medway was baffled. "They have been in those trees for a long time and they don't usually fall out," Mr Medway said. "It is rather strange that some should die and others were fine after they had dried out." Mr Medway did not think yesterday's heavy rain could be the cause. "We've had heavier rain before than we've had this morning."
Comment: There have been the occasional reports of birds dropping dead and it seems to occur in waves. Unfortunately there are no results from an autopsy here, but few would deny that we could compare this to canaries dropping dead in a mine and we are being warned that our environment is in a total state of imbalance.
Astronomer devises giant sun shield to reverse global warming An astronomer has proposed to reverse global warming by creating a giant sunshield to protect the planet.
The Telegraph, 20th February 2009
"Professor Roger Angel thinks he can diffract the power of the sun by placing trillions of lenses in space and creating a 100,000-square-mile sunshade. Each lens will have a diffraction pattern etched onto it which will cause the sun's rays to change direction. He intends to use electromagnetic propulsion to get the lenses into space. If work was started immediately Prof Angel thinks the sunshield could be operation by 2040.
Comment: It seems incredible to think that giant mirrors or metal plates in space, are being proposed by those who think humanity can geo-engineer itself out the way of our collective cosmic destiny. We don't fully understand sunlight, light, electricty and magnetism to name a few major facets of our reality! Note the article this week about the massive gamma ray burst that would have most certainly ionised the atmosphere thus generating a host of known and unknown effects. Like the Earth's magnetic field, massive change is underway that humans cannot forsee or control, yet some still want to try and outwit or gamble against the might of the Universe.
Echoes of Madoff as investigators search for missing cash
New Zealand Herald, 20th February 2009
"New York - The charges laid against Sir Allen Stanford inevitably invite comparisons with Bernard Madoff, the Wall St swindler who turned himself in last December. Both men claimed to have found a miracle-grow formula for investing, able to return double-digit percentage profits, year in, year out - but were vague when anyone dared ask how. Even the headline numbers coincide: both claimed to be managing about US$50 billion in customers' assets. Both men were faking it, it is now alleged."
Comment: We seem to be having a purge of high flying financial crooks, even Knights of the Realm.... See also Agents find billionaire Stanford Note: "
The SEC filed a civil case in court describing the case as a "fraud of shocking magnitude". Yet, it will only join the growing list of other frauds of shocking magnitude.
Turbulence Warning: 45 hurt as US-bound plane hits turbulence over Japan
Yahoo News, 20th February 2009
"Forty-five people were injured, at least three seriously, when a Northwest Airlines Boeing 747 hit turbulence on the Manila-Tokyo leg of a US-bound flight, according to airport officials. [...] A young man, also speaking in halting Japanese, said: "I was really scared. I thought I would die. The plane shook so much, and my whole body hovered up in the air. Inside the cabin, everybody was screaming loudly."
Comment: Passengers hovering in the air?!? They must have hit some kind electromagnetic vortex where gravity was being overcome by other forces, the same as when people are carried off by tornadoes.
Tibetan monks, police clash in Sichuan
Sydney Morning Herald, 20th February 2009
"THE county of Lithang in Sichuan province has been locked down after clashes between Tibetan monks, laypeople, nomads and Chinese security forces, say residents. Yesterday Chinese authorities ordered government and security forces in Tibet to crush any signs of support for the Dalai Lama as the 50th anniversary of an anti-Chinese uprising neared. [...] At least one Tibetan protester was swinging a stick, she said, and others were throwing stones. The policemen subdued them using what she called "electronic sticks" and tear gas."
Comment: Things must be pretty bad when the normally peace loving Tibetan monks have to go to war.
China's Artificially Induced Snow Closes 12 Highways
Reuters News, 20th February 2009
Summary: "BEIJING - China closed 12 highways around the capital Beijing on Thursday because of heavy snow brought on after seeding clouds with chemicals, state media said on Thursday. [...] The provincial weather bureau said that snow too was "enhanced" by artificial seeding. "The snow has brought moisture to the soil, which may help end the drought," Guo Yingchun, a senior engineer of the provincial meteorological observatory, was quoted as saying. [...] She said that 313 cigarette-size sticks of silver iodide were fired into the clouds from Wednesday night to Thursday morning, "a procedure that made the snow a lot heavier." [...] Hebei forecasters said flurries would continue through Thursday night in the northern part of the province. Beijing is enduring its longest drought in 38 years, according to weather bureau records."
Comment: Cloud seeding is nothing new so we must assume that many attempts have been made in the past that have not had the desired effect.
Heavy Snows Across Europe
Up To 2m of New Snow In Seven Days for Austria And Switzerland
Ice Cap, 19th February 2009
"It is still snowing heavily in Austria, German and Switzerland with many resorts receiving more than a metre of new snow in the past week. Switzerland had the largest falls of all with Sorenberg reporting an incredible 210cm (seven feet) of snow falling in the past seven days (the biggest fall of 60cm/two feet yesterday, February 17th). St-Cergue La Dole came close with 200cm (6.6 feet), 50 cm of which also fell yesterday. Zermatt continues to have the biggest snow depth in Europe and probably the world with 7.12m (24 feet) on the glacier."
Comment: I don't live in the mountains of Switzerland, but recently it has certainly seemed like it!
Most Extreme Gamma-ray Blast Ever, Seen By Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope
Science Daily, 19th February 2009
"With the distance in hand, FGST team members showed that the blast exceeded the power of nearly 9,000 ordinary supernovae and that the gas bullets emitting the initial gamma rays must have moved at no less than 99.9999 percent the speed of light. This burst's tremendous power and speed make it the most extreme recorded to date. The burst is not only spectacular but also enigmatic: a curious time delay separates its highest-energy emissions from its lowest. Such a time lag has been seen clearly in only one earlier burst, and researchers have several explanations for why it may exist."
Comment: As I have written before, our planet is being blasted with energy to push us to the next evolutionary level. Otherwise, you would have to agree that it's merely a coincidence that it's only in the last few years that we have seen such massive bursts of energy.
What a mess! Experts ponder space junk problem
AP News, 19th February 2009
"Think of it as a galactic garbage dump. With a recent satellite collision still fresh on minds, participants at a meeting in the Austrian capital this week are discussing ways to deal with space debris — junk that is clogging up the orbit around the Earth. [...] Johnson is the co-lead of an International Academy of Astronautics study that is exploring ways of extracting space debris from Earth orbit. Some of the suggestions sound pretty spaced out. One proposes attaching balloons to pieces of debris to increase their atmospheric drag and bring them back to Earth faster. Another, said Johnson, foresees attaching a 10-mile (16-kilometer) electrodynamic tether to debris that would generate a current, which then could be controlled from the ground enabling technicians to bring it down. Many scientists are skeptical about the possibility of a cleanup."
Comment: The suggestion of an electrodynamic tether is quite amusing after the previous failed attempt by the NASA/Italian tethered satellite experiment (TSS-1R) on the STS-75 mission. In 1996, the computer on-board the Italian satellite was fried and the fuel on-board mysteriously depleted, when the "shoestring-sized tether" — almost fully deployed — 12 miles above the Columbia space shuttle simply broke. This fast became a massive PR disaster for NASA's $450 million project and only boistered Electric Universe theorists. To my knowledge, there is still an satellite whizzing around our planet, trailing a 12-mile tether pointing towards the earth.....
Morris County, New Jersey earthquakes puzzling for geologists
Daily Record, 18th February 2009
"Minor earthquakes, including three in Morris County during a 15-day span, are relatively common in the northeastern United States but puzzle geologists because the nearest active fault line is hundreds of miles away
under the Atlantic Ocean. "The cause of these earthquakes is really a big mystery because they really don't fit in with the geologist image of plate tectonics," said Catherine Riihimaki, a geologist who teaches at Drew University in Madison."
Comment: Maybe there are other factors at play that geologists have traditionally refused to consider for decades, but physicists are now investigating. We now know that tremendous electric currents can be generated in rocks which alter the magnetic field surrounding the earthquake zone. Scientists can measure elevated ULF & ELF (Ultra Low Frequency/Extremely Low Frequency) magnetic field signals weeks prior to earthquakes using satellites. Research is ongoing as to what is causing the build up of charges but from a planetary refresh perspective, we are getting a massive influx of higher energy plasma that is displacing the old corrupted energies that have resided in the Earth and this old energy is now being literally forced out of the Earth generating new geological and atmospheric phenomena.
Doomsday seed vault's stores are growing
Statism Watch, 19th February 2009
"The stores of seeds in a "doomsday" vault in the Norwegian Arctic are growing as researchers rush to preserve 100,000 crop varieties from potential extinction. The imperiled seeds are going to be critical for protecting the global food supply against devastating crop losses as a result of climate change, said Cary Fowler, executive director of the Global Crop Diversity Trust."These resources stand between us and catastrophic starvation," Fowler said. "You can't imagine a solution to climate change without crop diversity.""
Comment: Unfortunately the tone of the commentator to this Agence France-Presse article, is very conspiratorial, whether rightly or wrongly. My interest in the Norwegian Doomsday vault is that one of the major reasons for it's inception was that it was foreseen that there could be a total break down of the world's electricity supply and so the natural setting in Svalbard meant that the place would still be operational without electricity and the place had the natural security of polar bears, believe it or not. This seed bank is the result of some serious disaster planning, understood by those who are aware of the impact of severe Space Weather. See January 16 2006, New Scientist article, Doomsday vault to avert world famine. So, as ususal, all the talk of global warming is just the convenient cover story, but Svalbard is not totally disaster proof as it does get the occasional earthquake....
Mitsubishi Lancer Sideswiped By UFO?
Offbeat News, 18th February 2009
"A woman was driving around suburban Chicago when her Mitsubishi Lancer was gently bumped, though no cars were around. When she pulled over her car was massively dented."
Comment: This is listed because the picture of the car was not provided with the original 14th November 2008 report, Selective damage to car drives UFO theorists, or see archives. The picture is quite priceless, but please ignore the stupid commentary and read the original report analysis.
Power Surge Causes Explosions In 55 Homes
WFTV.com News, 18th February 2009
"Fifty-five homeowners in Minneola were stunned Wednesday when a sudden power surge blew up appliances and caused fire to shoot out of outlets. It was all because of a mistake by their electric company. Sumter Electric sent too much power through the wires to homes near Chelsea Parc Drive (see map). Appliances exploded and fire shot out of the outlets. Residents heard the explosion, they ran outside and found the breaker boxes outside their homes were on fire. In home after home, neighbors suddenly experienced the same thing. [...] Sumter Electric Cooperative said it is investigating why it happened. The utility said they've never had a problem like this before."
Comment: I note that the Electric company did not admit liability here, it just says they are investigating what happened. But surely, there would have been circuit breakers to stop this kind of power surge from happening? Anyway, it must have been terrifying for the person who had a fireball fly across the living room.... Another little anomaly, as electromagnetic and geomagnetic chaos causes many strange effects.
Soaring Autism Rates Linked to Environmental Causes
Natural News, 18th February 2009
A study recently published in the journal Epidemiology has suggested that rapid increases in autism rates in California cannot be explained by migratory trends and looser diagnosis criteria, but is instead most likely down to environmental exposures. Not exactly news to those well versed in natural healing, but perhaps such findings will finally represent a breakthrough of sorts for the scientific and medical community.[...]Unfortunately, research resources are currently heavily skewed towards genetic factors - funding for studies conducted on such causes of autism is 10 to 20 times as much as funding for environmental factors.
"The advances in molecular genetics have tended to obscure the principle that genes are always acting in and on a particular environment. This article, I think, will restore some balance to our thinking," said Dr Bernard Weiss, a professor of environmental medicine and pediatrics at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He also said that "excessive emphasis has been placed on genetics as a cause".
And it is time for mindsets, especially those of people controlling research funds, to change. "It's time to start looking for the environmental culprits responsible for the remarkable increase in the rate of autism in California," said Dr Hertz-Picciotto, an epidemiology professor at University of California, Davis, the leader of the study. "There's genetics and there's environment. And genetics don't change in such short periods of time," she also said.
This was echoed by Dr Weiss, who concurred that environmental factors should be more closely looked at. He also said that the autism rate reported in the UC Davis study "seems astonishing".
Comment: Well, the science of Epigenetics tells us that genetic code is modified by the environment, the basic gene remains the same but the protein output can vary. A good analogy is that the environmental signal acts in a similar way to how you would modify the reception on a radio receiver. Yes, humans have polluted the environment, but the basic environmental signals to support human life are changing fundmentally too. Since the science of Epigenetics is relatively new, only about 30 years old, we have scientists still grappling with old outdated ideas as outlined in this article.
Organic particles aid cloud growth
Environmental Research, 17th February 2009
"To test the importance of organic aerosols as cloud seeds Nicole Shantz, from the University of Toronto, Canada, and her colleagues measured cloud droplet growth in two contrasting environments: oceanic and forest. They then compared their experimental findings with a computer model of cloud droplet growth. Travelling on board a ship they measured the size and type of aerosols over the North Pacific Ocean, and counted the number of cloud condensation nuclei (particles that had attracted water). Back on dry land they made the same measurements over the Golden Ears Provincial Park, a forest on the west coast of Canada. Their findings are described in the journal
Comment: Counting aerosol particles is a very basic form of 'research'. It is now know that you need an electric field and cosmic rays to form clouds, thus there is far more credible research using particle accelerators taking place at CERN or the SKY research undertaken by Svensmark at the Danish National Space Center.
Alien life may be all around us (or even in us), says professor
Daily Mail, 16th February 2009
"Forget little green men on Mars - aliens could be right here on Earth, a leading scientist has claimed. Cosmologist Paul Davies said it was 'entirely reasonable' to believe that we share the planet with a form of life different to anything we know of."
Comment: This article is very disappointing as it goes around the same old worn out rut of talking about 'alien' organisms. Meanwhile, the military are seen regularly chasing 'orbs' and New Agers are busy channelling them. The visible universe is 99.999% plasma, is it really that hard to work out that consciousness could develop that would remain in the fundamental state of matter?
Mathematics: The only true universal language
New Scientist, 16th February 2009
[...] "Mathematics has been the language of science for thousands of years, and it is remarkably successful. [...] There are nonetheless reasons to hope that simple underlying rules might govern some seemingly complex phenomena. This was intimated in 1970 by the mathematician John Conway who invented the "game of life". Conway wanted to devise a game that would start with a simple pattern and use basic rules to evolve it again and again. He began experimenting with the black and white tiles on a Go board and discovered that by adjusting the simple rules of his game, which determine when a tile turns from black to white and vice versa, and the starting patterns, some arrangements produce incredibly complex results seemingly from nowhere. Some patterns can emerge that appear to have a life of their own as they move round the board."
Comment: Long article and I found all the talk about what aliens would think just plain off-putting. Whatever, there is some discussion of the multiverse and I found the above paragraph very interesting. The idea of polarities represented by black/white, on/off, top/down, negative/positive, male/female is fundamental to understanding the interaction of energy. From
the book Path of Empowerment – Pleiadian Wisdom For A World In Chaos
"The checkerboard is a symbol that has captured the ultimate complexity of the field of existence in a design that is layered with symbolic meaning."
"The sixty-four squares ...form an eight-sided design on a two-dimensional surface in third-dimensional reality, a metaphor for revealing the essence of cosmic law and the basic instructions for building energy in any reality ...The alternating pattern of black-and-white symbols triggered the mind to remember the higher cosmic and spiritual laws for working with energy."
Honeybees under attack on all fronts
New Scientist News, 16th February 2009
"At the root of the vulnerability to these stresses could be the way breeding has affected the bees' genetic make-up. By being highly selected for calmness and honey production, honeybees have lost other useful characteristics, says Francis Ratnieks of the University of Sussex, UK. In research to be published in the journal Heredity, he describes a way to breed for "hygienic" bees that, unlike most commercial bees, clear out infected young and can resist varroa mites."
Comment: Maybe, Francis Ratnieks has given us a significant clue as to what is happening to our honeybees. His suggestion means that that breeding may have produced commercial honey bees that are not genetically favoured by new DNA blueprints held in the environment that process DNA information, hence these bees are getting sick with an assortment of complaints and dying off. This fits in with the observation that organic bee-keepers have not reported losses and their bees remain healthy.
Mystery 'Fireballs' Fall From The Texas Sky
Yahoo News, 16th February 2009
"Authorities in Texas are baffled after being flooded with reports of burning debris falling from the sky. Terrified onlookers were heard screaming when the mysterious "fireballs" were filmed mid-morning on Sunday.
They were captured by television cameras recording a marathon in the state capital Austin."
Comment: Video: I don't think this looks like burning debris and it is surprising that authorities actually agree that this is NOT debris from the satellite collision. So we have to conclude, that like so many recent reports, this could be another great example of what people suggest is a 'fireball' but in reality is a magnetospheric plasmoid arriving. The only way we can be sure is if there is any evidence, literally, on the ground. Another thought, there are often discrepancies with multi-dimensional phenomena, as what people see with the eye and what is recorded by digital technology often differs and this filmed event is very unlike other fireballs recorded by TV crews, see archives for examples.
UFO Spotted Over Farsley [UK]
Farsely Today, 16th February 2009
"Do you see a UFO flying over Farsley? A UFO has been reported flying over Farsley. The unidentified flying object was spotted by members of the public in different locations on Tuesday, February 10. Spotters described it as a "fire in the sky" or alternatively as a number of orange lights."
Comment: This is just one of many recent UFO reports over the UK in the last few days, but in this case, even though it was described as "a bonfire in the sky", sprites tend to be short-lived and localised and this was a moving object. Nevertheless, unless the scientific community start taking an interest in plasma phenomena over the UK, people will continue to report atmospheric events or plasma entities as UFOs.
Lightning bolt makes healer of Indonesian village boy
The Age News, 14th February 2009
"Muhammad Ponari, who locals believe possesses healing powers, dips his "magic stone" into a bottle of water. Mohammad Ponari was, until last month, a typical kid in the impoverished East Java village of Balongsari. Then, quite literally, lightning struck. The nine-year-old, who had been playing in the rain in his front yard, was hit by the thunderbolt but, to the astonishment of his young friends, he was unharmed. All the more bizarre, according to an account by his village chief and his family, when he came to, he found a stone the size of an egg on his head, and was convinced he possessed healing powers. A boy next door with a fever was his first patient. The stone was placed in a glass of water and the boy drank deeply. His fever vanished. Then another neighbour approached him, a woman in her 30s who had suffered from a depressive condition for 15 years. She, too, was healed. The miracles, large and small, kept coming, said Nila Retno, the local village chief."
Comment: The stone makes this story almost biblical.... In my book review, The Keepers of Ancient Knowledge about the Q'ero Indians of Peru, the most common calling is when a paqo is struck by lightning or lightning strikes close by.
How not to measure temperature, part 82, Friday the 13th: the Temperature Shelter
Watts Up With That, 13th February 2009
"The surfacestations project has now surveyed over 70% of the USHCN. I keep telling myself that there probably aren't many surprises left. We've seen climate monitoring stations in parking lots, next to parked cars, next to burn barrels, near air conditioners, at airports, at sewage treatment plants, at industrial facilities, in people's front yards, back yards, side yards, near BBQ grills, on top of telephone poles, on main street, next to houses, attached to houses, next to buildings, and yes even on the rooftops. [...] In defense of the newspaper editor, Mr. Howe, who was kind enough to grant access for photography and reportedly was "puzzled" by the keen interest shown by Evan Jones in this station, he says that he "inherited it when he came to work there 37 years ago". 37 Years? And in all this time nobody from NOAA/NWS spots this monstrosity of science and does something about it? Oh the shame. The NWS lack of responsibility makes a mockery out of the hard work these dedicated volunteers put in towards maintaining records."
Comment: Another classic in the series....
We need an astral air control
The Times, 13th February 2009
"In space, no one can hear you scream, and no one can tell you where to park your satellite. If Tuesday night's orbital smash-up had occurred during the Cold War, it might have triggered a nuclear showdown. Instead it has brought renewed calls for a celestial equivalent of the world's air traffic control system. Of the 6,000 satellites launched since the first Soviet Sputnik 52 years ago, few have been brought back to Earth."
Comment: The video animation and information here is excellent.
COLLIDING SATELLITES:
Spaceweather.com, 13th February 2009
Copy:COLLIDING SATELLITES:
For the first time ever, two large satellites
have collided in Earth orbit. It happened on Tuesday, Feb. 10th,
when Kosmos 2251
crashed into Iridium
33 approximately 800 km over northern Siberia. Both satellites
were completely destroyed.
Click
to view a 2.3 MB animation
U.S. Strategic Command is tracking hundreds of satellite fragments.
In the 48+ hours since the collision, the debris swarm has spread
around both orbits. Experts characterize the distribution as a pair
of "clumpy rings"; one ring traces the orbit of Iridium
33, the other traces the orbit of Kosmos 2251.
This injection of debris substantially increases the population
of space junk at altitudes near 800 km. Collisions are now more
likely than ever. Fortunately, the International Space Station orbits
Earth at a much lower altitude, 350 km, so it is in no immediate
danger. The Hubble Space Telescope is not so safe at 610 km. In
the days ahead, researchers will carefully study the make-up and
dynamics of the debris cloud to estimate when bits will begin to
drift down to lower altitudes.
Comment: The general awareness of a New Age dominated by space has arrived with a bang!
Green ideas must take blame for deaths
Sydney Morning Herald, 12th February 2009
"It wasn't climate change which killed as many as 300 people in Victoria last weekend. It wasn't arsonists. It was the unstoppable intensity of a bushfire, turbo-charged by huge quantities of ground fuel which had been allowed to accumulate over years of drought. It was the power of green ideology over government to oppose attempts to reduce fuel hazards before a megafire erupts, and which prevents landholders from clearing vegetation to protect themselves. So many people need not have died so horribly. The warnings have been there for a decade. If politicians are intent on whipping up a lynch mob to divert attention from their own culpability, it is not arsonists who should be hanging from lamp-posts but greenies.
Comment: From the descriptions here, it seems that some people were living in a tinderbox waiting for a spark of lightning to set the whole lot off and were fully expecting a massive loss of life, which is exactly what happened. I wonder if any of the dead were greens that had contributed to influencing public land policy.
Fined for illegal clearing, family now feel vindicated
Sydney Morning Herald, 12th February 2009
"They were labelled law breakers, fined $50,000 and left emotionally and financially drained. But seven years after the Sheahans bulldozed trees to make a fire break — an act that got them dragged before a magistrate and penalised — they feel vindicated. Their house is one of the few in Reedy Creek, Victoria, still standing."
Comment: Poignant: "Common sense isn't that common these days," Mr Sheahan said."
'Apocalyptic climate predictions' mislead the public, say experts Met Office scientists fear distorted climate change claims could undermine efforts to tackle carbon emissions
The Guardian, 12th February 2009
"Experts at Britain's top climate research centre have launched a blistering attack on scientific colleagues and journalists who exaggerate the effects of global warming. The Met Office Hadley Centre, one of the most prestigious research facilities in the world, says recent "apocalyptic predictions" about Arctic ice melt and soaring temperatures are as bad as claims that global warming does not exist. Such statements, however well-intentioned, distort the science and could undermine efforts to tackle carbon emissions, it says. In an article published on the Guardian website, Dr Vicky Pope, head of climate change advice at the Met Office, calls on scientists and journalists to stop misleading the public with "claim and counter-claim"."
Comment: It seems the tide has turned....
A "Ghost" Captured in the British Home
The Sun, 12th February 2009
"A schoolboy has captured eerie footage of what he claims is a ghost striding towards banisters at his home. Terrified Reece Pitman, 12, heard whistling - and used his mobile to film the shadowy being. It came days after his nine-year-old sister complained that someone was mysteriously finishing her jigsaws at night."
Comment: Classic! The video footage is not scary and there also looks like an orb with it too..... How bad does it have to get before people twig that our reality has fundamentally changed?
Scientists eye debris after satellite collision
AP News, 12th February 2009
" CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) -- Scientists are keeping a close eye on orbital debris created when two communications satellites - one American, the other Russian - smashed into each other hundreds of miles above the Earth. NASA said it will take weeks to determine the full magnitude of the unprecedented crash and whether any other satellites or even the Hubble Space Telescope are threatened. The collision, which occurred nearly 500 miles over Siberia on Tuesday, was the first high-speed impact between two intact spacecraft, NASA officials said. "We knew this was going to happen eventually," said Mark Matney, an orbital debris scientist at Johnson Space Center in Houston. NASA believes any risk to the international space station and its three astronauts is low. It orbits about 270 miles below the collision course. A spokesman for the Russian civilian space agency Roscosmos, Alexander Vorobyev, said on state-controlled Channel I television that "for the international space station, at this time and in the near future, there's no threat." [...] Litter in orbit has increased in recent years, in part because of the deliberate breakups of old satellites. It's gotten so bad that orbital debris is now the biggest threat to a space shuttle in flight, surpassing the dangers of liftoff and return to Earth. NASA is in regular touch with the Space Surveillance Network, to keep the space station a safe distance from any encroaching objects, and shuttles, too, when they're flying. "The collisions are going to be becoming more and more important in the coming decades," Matney said.
Comment: I note this could be an attempt to blame the Russians as it was reported, "The Russian satellite was out of control, Matney said." The whole point of a satellite is that it can be placed in space in orbit and it will stay in a certain trajectory, well that was how things were until Space Weather became a major issue. Now with a harsher space environment, even the most radiation hardened electronics can become overloaded by "killer electrons", malfunction and/or just die. Normally satellites will only drop out of orbit when space conditions become extreme during a solar storm but something caused the two satellites to collide and nobody is speculating about what happened. The question here is: with this new increase in junk cause a tipping point where more collisions occur and start a ripple effect? Well, solar cycle 24 has not even started properly yet, so we can only speculate how bad things get and how long before satellite communication problems impact our modern, technologically dependent societies. Update U.S. warns of space "dodgeball" after satellite crash. It seems that we have reached Armageddon in near Earth space....
2 Big Satellites Collide 500 Miles Over Siberia
CBS News, 11th February 2009
"In an unprecedented space collision, a commercial Iridium communications satellite and a defunct Russian satellite ran into each other Tuesday above northern Siberia, creating a cloud of wreckage, officials said today. The international space station does not appear to be threatened by the debris, they said, but it's not yet clear whether it poses a risk to any other military or civilian satellites.
[...] Johnson said the collision was unprecedented. "Nothing to this extent (has happened before)," he said. "We've had three other accidental collisions between what we call catalog objects, but they were all much smaller than this and always a moderate sized objects and a very small object. And these are two relatively big objects. So this is a first,
unfortunately."
[...] Asked if other satellites might be at risk, Johnson said "technically, yes. What we're doing now is trying to quantify that risk. That's a work in progress. It's only been 24 hours. We put first things first, which is station and preparing for the next shuttle mission."
Comment: Amazing, what did I write last week, see below! Well, I have believed for quite some time that our satellite communication infrastructure is under risk from Space Weather and the turbulent conditions that now exist . Since the start of this blog, I have consistently reported about the problem of the amount of junk in space but I was unaware until recently that there is an estimated 300,000 pieces of junk between 1cm -10cm and billions of pieces of junk under 1cm. This article mentions 18,000 artificial objects in space bigger than 10 centimeters, but only about 800 of which are operational satellites being tracked. According to The Secure World Foundation's Space Situational Awareness "...All of this material orbits the Earth at high velocities, usually between seven and ten kilometers per second, and in an uncontrolled manner." Hmmmm.....
'Dark' Comets May Pose Threat to Earth
New Scientist News, 11th February 2009
"Swathes of dark comets may be prowling the solar system, posing a deadly threat to Earth. [...] "There is a case to be made that dark, dormant comets are a significant but largely unseen hazard," says Napier. In previous work, Napier and Janaki Wickramasinghe, also at Cardiff, have suggested that when the solar system periodically passes through the galactic plane, it nudges comets in our direction (New Scientist, 19 April 2008, p 10) .
Comment: Well, it's fact that our solar system is now lining up to the galactic plane (actually, rare alignment of the December Solstice Sun with the Galactic Center, 12 December 2012), so maybe we have an explanation here for why so many comets are exploding in our atmosphere and creating sonic booms. (Please go through the archives to find all the entries about new telescopes scouring the heavens). Anyway, this article is very interesting from the perspective of those who have realised the tremendous effort that is given to maintaining NASA's 'dirty snowball' model. Like the suggestion given here, opponents to the dirty snowball comet model have already noted that close fly-bys have revealed hot dry jet-black rocks!
UFO filmed above Somerset coastline [UK] by holidaymakers
The Telegraph, 11th February 2009
"Caravaners were left baffled when the mysterious cylinder hovered over a busy campsite in Brean, Somerset. They claimed the unidentified black metal object stands out clearly against the blue sky, where it can be seen darting up and down for more than 10 minutes. Local police reported no unusual activity, but witnesses were left convinced they had seen an extra-terrestrial spectacle. It took place on a sunny afternoon last July when tourists staying at an unidentified holiday park spotted the object.
Comment: Carry on caravaning! This is some good footage but there seems to be other activity going on here that does need some expert analysis. I noted points where there seemed to be a strange multi-coloured bell-shaped cloud and the entity originally seem to appear from a flare like burst of whitish energy. Well the mainstream are focusing on our UFO plagued skies but obviously there is no apparent awareness that we are very often witnessing multi-dimensional "entities". However, in this case, I am just not sure what's going on....
Vatican buries the hatchet with Charles Darwin
The Times, 11th February 2009
"The Vatican has admitted that Charles Darwin was on the right track when he claimed that Man descended from apes. A leading official declared yesterday that Darwin’s theory of evolution was compatible with Christian faith, and could even be traced to St Augustine and St Thomas Aquinas. "In fact, what we mean by evolution is the world as created by God," said Archbishop Gianfranco Ravasi, head of the Pontifical Council for Culture. The Vatican also dealt the final blow to speculation that Pope Benedict XVI might be prepared to endorse the theory of Intelligent Design, whose advocates credit a "higher power" for the complexities of life."
Comment: This is going to get very interesting as we watch spontaneous evolution before our very eyes. There can be no argument, we are witnessing mass extinctions, some species demonstrating rapid evolutionary change and an increase in DNA mutations worldwide. Human birth defects due to DNA mutation are increasing "dramatically" in China which has occured alongside the appearance of highly gifted children. According to authorities, the situation in China has been caused by 'unrestrained' pollution, see China's soaring mutant birth rate, but must still be considered as a warning of things to come as our planet loses it's shielding to cosmic radiation.
B1-class solar flare, Feb. 10th at 2310 UT.
SpaceWeather.com, 11th February 2009
Full report: "SOLAR FLARE: Yesterday, Feb. 10th at 2310 UT, Earth-orbiting satellites detected a B1-class solar flare. Normally, such a small eruption would pass unremarked, but during this deep solar minimum, it's a relatively big event. NASA's STEREO-B spacecraft photographed the probable blast-site shortly before and after the eruption: The source of the explosion appears to be a collapsing (or erupting) magnetic filament. The filament was present before the flare, absent afterward. Higher-cadence imagery from the Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) may confirm or refute this idea; however, those images have not yet been beamed back to Earth. Stay tuned for updates."
Comment: Has the Sun finally stirred? The last time the Sun was this inactive between solar maximums, what followed was an historic high, so the anticipation and speculation will continue until Sun watchers are sure we have started a new solar cycle. Update from spaceweather.com "Sunspot 1012 is crackling with B-class solar flares. Yesterday, Feb. 12th at 1625 UT, one such eruption propelled a "solar tsunami" through the sun's lower atmosphere. An ultraviolet telescope onboard NASA's STEREO-B spacecraft recorded the faint yet powerful wave: The low latitude and magnetic polarity of this sunspot identify it as a member of old Solar Cycle 23. It is, in other words, a fossil, albeit a relatively active one. Stay tuned for more flares."
Medical Director of Switzerland's Paracelsus Clinic Takes Stand on Hazards of Electromagnetic Pollution 'Electromagnetic Load' a Hidden Factor in Many Illnesses
Electromagnetic Health, 10th February 2009
"Dr. Thomas Rau, Medical Director of the world renowned Paracelsus Clinic in Lustmühle, Switzerland says he is convinced 'electromagnetic loads' lead to cancer, concentration problems, ADD, tinnitus, migraines, insomnia, arrhythmia, Parkinson's and even back pain. At Paracelsus (www.paracelsus.ch), cancer patients are now routinely educated in electromagnetic field remediation strategies and inspectors from the Geopathological Institute of Switzerland are sent to patients' homes to assess electromagnetic field exposures. Of note, Dr. Rau says a strategy to consider for those experiencing 'electrical sensitivity' symptoms is to remove the electromagnetic 'hot spot' in the head created by the presence of metal fillings. Concern is thus not only for the 'neurotoxic' aspect of mercury in fillings, an increasingly understood hazard, but because fillings themselves act as antennas in the presence of electromagnetic fields from cell phones and cell towers, wi-fi networks, portable phones, and other sources of radiofrequency radiation."
Comment: One of the complaints of some electrohypersensitives is that they can see electric and magnetic fields, which some metaphysical folk would consider as highly desirable....
Catastrophic Fall In 2009 World Food Production
Global Research, 10th February 2009
"After reading about the droughts in two major agricultural countries, China and Argentina, I decided to research the extent other food producing nations were also experiencing droughts. This project ended up taking a lot longer than I thought. 2009 looks to be a humanitarian disaster around much of the world
To understand the depth of the food Catastrophe that faces the world this year, consider the graphic below depicting countries by USD value of their agricultural output, as of 2006."

The science of romance: Brains have a love circuit
AP News, 10th February 2009
"Washington - Like any young woman in love, Bianca Acevedo has exchanged valentine hearts with her fiance. But the New York neuroscientist knows better. The source of love is in the head, not the heart. She's one of the researchers in a relatively new field focused on explaining the biology of romantic love. And the unpoetic explanation is that love mostly can be understood through brain images, hormones and genetics. That seems to be the case for the newly in love, the long in love and the brokenhearted."

Scientists losing war of words over climate change
New Scientist News, 10th February 2009
"Who understands the probabilities of climate change? Certainly not the general public, if psychological tests on volunteers in the US are to be believed. The public, it seems, thinks climate scientists are less certain about their conclusions than they actually are. The results could explain why the minority views of "climate sceptics" get proportionally more attention from the general public than those of climate scientists."
Comment: Is this report an admission that common sense is prevailing? It seems that the general public are more sceptical of computer models and the scientific community that is generally biased towards global warming theory by their funding and are highly suspicious of politically motivated organisations like the IPCC that are being used to suggest taxing our own breath!
Experiences make us happier than possessions
CNN News, 10th February 2009
"Even in tough economic times, you may find yourself with a bit of cash to spare. You've been working hard, and you want to treat yourself. Should you spend it on an experience, such as a baseball game or concert, or a material object? An experience may generate positive memories that outlast the allure of a new material possession. Psychological research suggests that, in the long run, experiences make people happier than possessions. That's in part because the initial joy of acquiring a new object, such as a new car, fades over time as people become accustomed to seeing it every day, experts said. Experiences, on the other hand, continue to provide happiness through memories long after the event occurred.
Comment: Personally, I think this is the time when many will look inward and examine what is most important to them. Relationships will become valuable as we learn to treasure those who are closest.
The boy with 11 tumours who was sent home to die... and survives after grandparents' alternative therapy treatments
Daily Mail, 10th February 2009
"After he developed an aggressive form of childhood cancer in 2006, Connah Broom's body came under relentless attack from the disease. Eleven tumours spread from his neck to his knees and his case appeared hopeless. In 2007, doctors told his family there was nothing more they could do. They said they should take him home to enjoy his final months. But Connah's family refused to give up hope. His grandparents began treating him with alternative therapies and, remarkably, he survived. [...] His grandparents are convinced their treatments, including a strict organic diet and a daily sauna, are helping him beat his disease. But cancer experts are more sceptical, warning that the tumours could return at any moment. Last night they cast doubt on whether the alternative therapies had made any difference."
Comment: Go Connah Go! Tremendous, the grandparents are to be commended! Yet, the doctors are right that the tumours could return at any moment, but as many alternative healers are well aware, this is only true if there is no permanent change in the electromagnetic field and it seems that they are healing at this level by addressing this boy's energy field with the use of Reiki. Gene code mapping 'for all babies within 10 years'
Daily Mail, 9th February 2009
"Every baby could have its genetic code mapped out at birth within 10 years, a process which will predict conditions such as diabetes and heart disease and help prevent them. Jay Flatley, head of leading genome company Illumina, predicted a revolution in healthcare after the complete DNA read-out for every newborn becomes a technical reality. He said only social and legal issues would delay the process. But with many people reluctant to have their genome read for fear it could be used against them by employers or insurance companies, the process is expected to raise difficult questions over privacy."
Comment: It will take a long time to erradicate the 50 years of misinformation that various genetic conditions are inherited and that there is nothing that can be done. Research for the last three decades, now called epigenetics clearly shows that our environment and electromagnetic forces have a greater influence on which genes are switched on or off and therefore play a major part in health and heredity.
Not everyone cheers as Wi-Fi takes to the skies
International Herald Tribune, 8th February 2009
"For all the annoyance of being crammed into an aluminum tube at 35,000 feet with a bunch of strangers, air travel has offered one benefit: the ability to tell bosses and colleagues, "I'll be on a flight, so you won't be able to reach me." So much for that excuse. Wireless Internet service is starting to spread among airlines in the United States - Delta and American have installed it on more than a dozen planes each, and several other carriers are planning to test it."
Comment: Besides the fact that certain governments have already warned that too much wi-fi is not good for us as electromagnetic beings. Frequent fliers have other issues to think about such as too much radiation exposure damaging genes and even the new phenomena of radiation sickness from gamma rays generated in thunderstorms.
128 killed in Australia's worst fire disaster
Associated Press, 8th February 2009
WHITTLESEA, Australia (AP) — The death toll from Australia's wildfires has risen to 128, and authorities said they expect the number to go higher.
Authorities counted more victims overnight as they reached further into a huge zone scorched by blazes that ripped across southeastern Victoria state over the weekend. Victoria police spokeswoman Marika Sengler said the confirmed death toll on Monday afternoon was 128. At least 750 homes were destroyed in the fires that in some cases razed entire towns.
Officials say they expect the toll to go higher as investigators move into areas not yet reached.
Comment: Poignant: On Sunday the prime minister, on a tour of the fire zone, paused to comfort a man who wept on his shoulder, telling him, "You're still here, mate."
Brains 'are hardwired to believe in God and imaginary friends'
Daily Mail, 5th February 2009
"Religion is part of human nature and our brains are hard wired to believe in God, scientists believe. The evidence includes studies of babies and children which have shown the brain is programmed to think of the mind as being separate from the body. This distinction allows us to believe in the supernatural, to conjure up imaginary friends - and to conceive of gods, this week's New Scientist reports.[...] New Scientist says: 'All of the researchers involved stress that none of this says anything about the existence or otherwise of gods: whether or not a belief is true is independent of why people believe it.'"
Comment: As the dimensions merge, we can only speculate how soon many start to clearly perceive our new reality. Already it seems that some are awed by their encounters with multi-dimensional entities, but it will be interesting to here accounts of others who attempt to downplay their experiences, especially if they are occur in a group setting.
Whatever Happened to Global Warming?
The New American, 5th February 2009
"Now that record-cold temperatures across the globe are making a mockery of human-caused global warming, we look to see if this is merely a "weather hiccup." [...] In 1970, I recall New Orleans schoolchildren taking a 185-mile field trip to Jackson, Mississippi, so students might experience something they had never seen before: snow. This year they didn't have to bother, as Southern Louisiana was blanketed with four inches of the white stuff, the first major snow in 45 years, and only two inches shy of the all-time record of six inches set in 1895. It was also the earliest snow since record keeping began in 1850. Not to be outdone, Las Vegas checked in with what local meteorologist Jerome Jacquest said was the most snow since 1979. With no snow removal or de-icing equipment, the airport was closed along with most roads. Gambling, however, was not affected."
Comment: The introduction to this article is quite amusing but it does provide some facts that helps to explain why the global warm-mongers are continuing to make false claims in the media.
A dose of laughter: How one man overcame cancer with the help of humor
OpEdNews.com, 5th February 2009
Book Review: Cancer on five dollars a day (chemo not included): how humor got me through the toughest journey of my life. Robert Schimmel. "...It took someone who was already pushing the boundaries of good taste to take on this disease that won't go away even though we refuse to talk about it. Skeptics were sure his choice of material would bomb, but the absolute opposite has been true. Schimmel has struck a chord, deep within the national psyche.[...] In the final chapter, Schimmel sums up these "profound life lessons":
Keep your sense of humor, no matter what.
Create a purpose, a focus, and never take your eyes off it.
Figure out what's important to you. What's really important.
Be open. Try anything. You never know.
Love. You need love. Tons of it. A shitload of love.
Sometimes you need to be selfish.
You need support. You're in this alone, but you can't fight it alone.
The most precious thing you have is time. Don't waste it.
You're only human.
And, finally, once again - laugh. (pp. 185-6)
Comment: I think this is an example of someone who has tested the depths of the human spirit and come out victorious.
We are becoming a new species, we are becoming Homo Evolutis
Ars Technica, 5th February 2009
"At TED 2009, Juan Enriquez talked about the new human species emerging before our eyes. Thanks to an array of biological advances and our growing aptitude in robotics, we now find ourselves in the early days of the deliberate creation of what he called a new species. [...] Chairman and CEO of Biotechonomy, Enriquez says that humanity is on the verge of becoming a new and utterly unique species, which he dubs Homo Evolutis. What makes this species so unique is that it "takes direct and deliberate control over the evolution of the species." Calling it the "ultimate reboot," he points to the conflux of DNA manipulation and therapy, tissue generation, and robotics as making this great leap possible."
Comment: Enriquez needs to know that the planet is being deluged with Space Weather and the environment is reprogramming all life on this planet to support a higher levels of consciousness. So, as the heliosphere shrinks and Earth loses it's cosmic protection, Earth will be increasingly bombarded by cosmic rays and electronics and computer hardware will become far more unreliable. Humans are a product of the morphogenetic field that surrounds the physical body, according to our current scientific understanding. The metaphysical belief is that this energy field can become a shield to deflect harmful energies if the person has the ability to attract the highest frequencies of light that will naturally occur in the process of spiritual evolution. Yes, there will be a new human, this is self-evident as geneticists have realised that human DNA is directly programmed by the environment and that is changing dramatically, but human influence on the nature of our biology will remain strictly limited.
UFO spotted opposite Houses of Parliament
A multicoloured spacecraft seen floating opposite the Houses of Parliament was among the hundreds of UFOs reported in 2008, it has been disclosed.
The Telegraph, 5th February 2009
"The number of UFO sightings logged with the Ministry of Defence more than doubled to 285 last year, a rise described as "phenomenal" by experts. It is the highest number of sightings in 10 years. All the incidents are included in a document released by the MoD yesterday, which details the date, time and location of the sightings, along with a brief summary of the eyewitness reports. The Palace of Westminster sighting on Feb 12 is described as follows: "There was a craft that had green, red and white lights. It was still and static in the sky. It was seen for about an hour and a half." There is no information about who reported the UFO or what it may have been. [...] Many of the sightings read like the products of overactive imaginations. In Scarborough, North Yorkshire on June 11 a member of the public reported seeing "a cork shaped object that glowed like an angel, flew up and over some trees". "
Comment: There really needs to be a major re-education program, so that people understand that the dimensions are merging and a spiritual world is appearing of plasma-based lifeforms, whether they are usually described as atmospheric phenomena or not.
Orange glowing lights sighted over Coventry [UK] - Formed an oval shape
Coventry UFO: The truth is out there
Coventry Telegraph, 5th February 2009
"MORE Telegraph readers have come forward to report strange goings on in the night sky over Coventry. Great-grandmother June Smith described how a crowd of amazed neighbours in Stoke Aldermoor gathered to watch bright orange lights. Five neighbours claimed they saw what looked like a helicopter pursuing ten glowing lights in the shape of an oval."
Comment: I note the writer could not resist finishing off this report with the paper lanterns set off at Chinese New Year theory. Whatever, any rational person would be interested to know why a [military] helicopter would be chasing paper lanterns.....
Astronomers Find Cosmic Dust Fountain Red
UNiverse Today, 5th February 2009
"Dust is everywhere in space, but the pervasive stuff is one thing astronomers know little about. Cosmic dust is also elusive, as it lasts only about 10,000 years, a brief period in the life of a star. "We not only do not know what the stuff is, but we do not know where it is made or how it gets into space," said Donald York, a professor at the University of Chicago. But now York and a group of collaborators have observed a double-star system, HD 44179, that may be creating a fountain of dust. The discovery has wide-ranging implications, because dust is critical to scientific theories about how stars form. The double star system sits within what astronomers call the Red Rectangle, a nebula full of gas and dust located approximately 2,300 light years from Earth. One of the double stars is a post-asymptotic giant branch (post-AGB) star, a type of star astronomers regard as a likely source of dust."
Comment: This is one of my most favourite 'engimatic' features in space, but without an electric universe interpretation, these astronomers have no explanation for how this charged dust could create heavy elements and a pyramid-like feature in space.
Exceptionally deep view of strange galaxy
Physorg.com, 5th February 2009
"This very deep image taken with the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope shows the spiral galaxy NGC 4921 along with a spectacular backdrop of more distant galaxies. It was created from a total of 80 separate pictures through yellow and near-infrared filters. Credit: NASA, ESA and K. Cook (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, USA) (PhysOrg.com) -- The Coma Galaxy Cluster, in the northern constellation of Coma Berenices, the hair of Queen Berenice, is one of the closest very rich collections of galaxies in the nearby Universe. The cluster, also known as Abell 1656, is about 320 million light-years from Earth and contains more than 1000 members. The brightest galaxies, including NGC 4921 shown here, were discovered back in the late 18th century by William Herschel."
Comment: Now that we have some modern technology to gaze into the heavens, astronomers are having an extremely difficult time reconciling what they can see with their theories that until recently have ignored the role of electromagnetism. Hence astronomers refer to 'enigmatic', 'puzzling', 'strange', bizarre', 'weird', etc features in space. The universe is filled with plasma 99.999% which is ionised gas, charged sub-atomic particles, the fourth state of matter that reacts to the electromagnetic force rather than the weak force of gravity. So now we have a bizarre collection of ideas with mathematics that is clevely construed to give the 'right' result but this only serves to patch up the incorrect theory until the next amazing discovery.
Auroras: What powers the greatest light show on Earth?
New Scientist, 5th February 2009
"A few times a day, a gigantic explosion shakes the Earth's magnetic shield, triggering a chain of events that lights up the polar skies with dazzling auroras. These explosions are substorms, and how they happen has long been a mystery. Until now, no one has been able to explain how they gather the energy to create such spectacular displays, or what happens to trigger them.
Now a flotilla of NASA satellites is finally providing answers. They could help us understand not only one of nature's greatest spectacles, but also help predict more serious space weather, which can endanger satellites and astronauts, and even scramble electrical systems on Earth. [...] Auroras, substorms and more hazardous kinds of space weather all begin with the solar wind - a thin, hot gas of charged particles ejected from the sun, laced with magnetic fields and threaded with electric currents. This magnetic hurricane is blowing over the planet at 1.6 million kilometres per hour, but we don't feel so much as a breeze. That's because most of it is deflected by the Earth's magnetic field, which maintains a zone of relatively calm weather around the planet, called the magnetosphere. As the solar wind blows past the Earth, it pushes and stretches this protective shield out on the night side of the planet, like hair blown in the wind."
Comment: Nice article that indicates the new focus on predicting Space Weather. By the way, Spaceweather.com have reported a nice aurora over northern Russia, the associated image can be found here.
Snow job in Antarctica - digging out the data source
Watts Up With That, 4th February 2009
"...It seems that folks are all "wild about Harry" over at Climate Audit, with the revelations occurring there, and no good kerfluffle would be complete without some pictures of the weather stations in question. It seems a weather station used in the Steig Antarctic study , aka "Harry", got buried under snow and also got confused with another station, Gill, in the dataset. As Steve McIntyre writes:
Gill is located on the Ross Ice Shelf at 79.92S 178.59W 25M and is completely unrelated to Harry. The 2005 inspection report observes: 2 February 2005 - Site visited. Site was difficult to locate by air; was finally found by scanning the horizon with binoculars. Station moved 3.8 nautical miles from the previous GPS position. The lower delta temperature sensor was buried .63 meters in the snow. The boom sensor was raised to 3.84 m above the surface from 1.57 m above the surface. Station was found in good working condition. I didn't see any discussion in Steig et al on allowing for the effect of burying sensors in the snow on data homogeneity.
[...]
Why is the snow burying important? Well, as anyone skilled in cold weather survival can tell you, snow makes an excellent insulator and an excellent reflector. Snow’s trapped air insulative properties is why building a snow cave to survive in is a good idea. So is it any wonder then that a snowdrift buried temperature sensor, or a temperature sensor being lowered to near the surface by rising snow, would not read the temperature of the free near surface atmosphere accurately?
As I've always said, getting accurate weather station data is all about siting and how the sensors are affected by microclimate issues. Pictures help tell the story.
Comment: The real issue here is that the media are happy to disseminate lies and distortion and very few people will be interested enough to seek out the truth. Whatever, there are some great photos of Antartica here!
Government urged to power up support for giant batteries Electricity Storage Association warns blackouts are on the cards if the UK does not bolster investment in storage systems
Business Green, 4th February 2009
"The UK will be at increased risk of power blackouts if it does not increase investment in energy storage technologies, including emerging battery systems capable of storing megawatts of power. That is the stark warning from the international Electricity Storage Association (ESA), which said last week that the UK and Irish governments need to deliver a huge increase in energy storage capacity if they are to meet EU targets requiring them to generate around 50GW from renewable sources by 2020."
Comment: There are continuous reports that there will be blackouts in the UK due to changes in energy policy, but this is at the same time that space agencies are warning that severe space weather is much more likely to knock out power grids in the future too. This surely has to be a recipe for a disaster?
Shaking on space station rattles NASA Vigorous vibrations caught on video during orbital reboost last month
MSNBC, 4th February 2009
"HOUSTON - A faulty rocket command sequence aboard the international space station caused the 300-ton structure to shake back and forth vigorously for two minutes last month, during what was supposed to be a routine, gentle orbital adjustment. Space experts in Houston and Moscow have spent the last two weeks searching for the cause of the shaking and doing a damage assessment. [...] In the past, such firings had given the station a gentle push, enough to send free-floating objects adrift toward the cabin's back end in 30 or 40 seconds. Reboosts also have been performed with smaller thrusters aboard Progress cargo ships, as well as with the small maneuvering jets on docked space shuttles. Those firings are usually so gentle that crews don't notice – they even can sleep through them. But during the Jan. 14 firing, something went seriously awry. The station's solar power wings began swaying back and forth alarmingly. More dramatically, an interior camera captured views of wall-mounted equipment and cables flopping back and forth to a two-second beat, as the camera itself swayed on its mounting bracket. It was quickly apparent that some periodic force had excited the space station's structure at one of its resonant frequencies, leading to a buildup of gyrations rather than a damping down. As with the traditional "soldiers marching across a bridge" story, and the all-too-real Tacoma Narrows bridge collapse in 1940, resonance buildup in a large structure can quickly lead to serious consequences."
Comment: Shake, rattle and roll! Quite frankly, I just can't see the ISS remaining in orbit for much longer as it is apparent that regardless of current lack of solar activity in the form of solar flares and CMEs, the planet is still being bombarded by the solar wind and there must be some intense substorm activity in the magnetosphere to explain the strange atmospheric events being reported. Then of course there is now 300,000 bits of junk between 1cm and 10cm flying around at high speed, even without the added chaos of geomagnetic storms. So, even though this junk is being monitored by various agencies, how the ISS is managing to avoid being seriously damaged by this junk and the 17,300 bits that are over 10cm, is quite remarkable.
Psychiatry's 'Shock Doctrine': Are We Really OK With Electroshocking Toddlers?
Alternet, 4th February 2009
"Many Americans think electroconvulsive therapy has been abandoned. But American psychiatry still regards it as a respected treatment, even for kids. [...] Longtime ECT critic, psychiatrist Peter Breggin, in the International Journal of Risk & Safety in Medicine in 1998 ("Electroshock: Scientific, Ethical, and Political Issues"), reported that at establishment psychiatry's "Consensus Conference on ECT" in 1985, ECT advocates were unable to come forth with one controlled study showing that ECT had any positive effect beyond four weeks and that many other ECT studies showed that it had no positive effect at all."
Comment: I am sure many people will be totally dismayed to discover that young children are being subjected to this outdated and barbaric treatment and even more outraged that there does not seem to be any justification for the use of this treatment at all.
'Get over it and buy a shovel!: Rest of the world left baffled as snow brings Britain grinding to a halt
Daily Mail, 4th February 2009
"As Britain ground to a halt in the snow, the rest of the world looked on with astonishment, wry amusement and - at times - outright mockery. It probably comes as no surprise that countries used to heavier winters were baffled by our inability to cope with a relatively moderate ten inches. But even Australia, currently in the middle of a ferocious heatwave, indulged in a spot of Pommie-bashing."
Comment: I've lived in Norway and now live in Switzerland and these countries are ready and organised when it comes to clearing snow because it's expected!
China's soaring mutant birth rate
Croatian Times, 3rd February 2009
Full Story:
"A new Chinese family planning study has shown that birth defects have risen by 40 per cent in just six years. The shocking rise has been blamed on pollution caused by the country's unrestrained industrial growth, say officials. And a baby is being born with birth defects every 30 seconds because of pollution, says China's senior family planning official.
Jiang Fan - from the country's National Population and Family Planning Commission - says the heart of the problem is northern China's coal-mining region, Shanxi. "The problem of birth defects is related to environmental pollution, especially in the eight main coal zones," confirmed local family planning official An Huanxiao. But China's massive industrial expansion in chemical production, power plants, and manufacturing has spread defects through the whole country. Now officials are to launch an intensive screening programme to help prevent the rise. "The number of newborns with birth defects is constantly increasing in both urban and rural areas," Jiang told China Daily newspaper. "This rather alarming increase has forced us to kick off a high-level prevention plan," he added. Most recent figures from a 2007 commission reveal that the rate of birth defects had risen 40 per cent since 2001, from 104.9 per 10,000 births to 145.5 in 2006."
Comment: The dramatic increase in mutations in China must be of some concern to authorities but it seems strange that mutations are increasing in both urban and rural areas. It is apparent that China is one place in the world that is showing clear cases of environmental electromagnetic chaos. This is the only way to explain the example of a duck with perfect chicken's feet, (there are other weird examples that have been listed on this 'News of the Imbalance' blog). The reprogramming of cells to another genome by capturing DNA informational patterns is proven science with an electromagnetic carrier signal only acting as a convenient delivery mechanism.
Major Error in Antarctic Warming Paper - Going Cold on Antarctic Warming
Ice Cap, 3rd February 2009
"Professor Eric Steig last month announced in Nature that he'd spotted a warming in West Antarctica that previous researchers had missed through slackness - a warming so strong that it more than made up for the cooling in East Antarctica. Whew! Finally we had proof that Antarctica as a whole was warming, and not cooling, after all. Global warming really was global now.
The paper was immediately greeted with suspicion, not least because one of the authors was Michael Mann of the infamous "hockey stick", now discredited, and the data was reconstructed from very sketchy weather station records, combined with assumptions from satellite observations. But Steve McIntyre, who did most to expose Mann's "hockey stick", now notices a far more embarrassing problem with Steig's paper."
Comment: Well, the forensic work has been done and the post mortem reveals that global warming has now been reduced down to the level of farce by some unscrupulous scientists who appear to be absolutely desperate to persuade the public that our planet is warming despite all the evidence to the contrary....
Timing of Seasons Is Changing
Live Science, 3rd February 2009
"The Earth's seasons have shifted back in the calendar year, with the hottest and coldest days of the years now occurring almost two days earlier, a new study finds. This shift could be the work of global warming, the researchers say. To figure this out, scientists at the University of California, Berkeley and Harvard studied temperature data from 1850 to 2007 compiled by the University of East Anglia's Climate Research Unit in the United Kingdom."
Comment: The only thing that can be accepted as fact is that the seasons are shifting. It would be interesting to find out what datasets and statistical tools were being used so that the statement, "temperature averaged over any given year is increasing" would be a valid. It is fairly apparent that the scientists are speculating that the change of seasons may be linked to global warming, as this statement is only backed up with a weak link to wind patterns and even more tenuous link with drier global soils.
California Exploding Object [40 Miles Southeast Of Sonora,](Amazing Video Footage)
USA UFO Blogspot, 3rd February 2009
Comment: As explained in widely available scientific, unclassified military reports and metaphysical documentation, the video shows plasma entities that travel into Earth's atmosphere as a magnetospheric plasmoid, splitting apart and becoming separate orbs. This video footage provided here is a very nice example, but you can watch the video and judge for yourself if you think there is an explosion with smoke and debris.
Passengers stop flight after 'drunk' pilot sparks panic
The Times, 3rd February 2009
"It is normally a moment of cheery reassurance when an airline pilot greets passengers during preparations for take-off. But Alexander Cheplevsky sparked panic on flight Aeroflot 315 when he began to speak. His slurred and garbled comments ahead of a flight from Moscow to New York convinced passengers that he was drunk. When he apparently switched from Russian into unintelligible English, fear turned to revolt. Flight attendants initially ignored passengers' complaints and threatened to expel them from the Boeing 767 jet unless they stopped "making trouble". As the rebellion spread, Aeroflot representatives boarded the aircraft to try to calm down the 300 passengers."
Comment: In this instance, the attitude of the airline and staff is quite unbelievable....
Exploding cellphone kills Chinese man
Engadget News, 2nd February 2009
Full Story: "Here's the thing about batteries: they store energy. Lots of it. Channeled correctly, that energy does really awesome things for us -- but channeled chaotically, and... well, you know where this is going, don't you? A man shopping in a Lenovo store in mainland China has been killed after the phone in his chest pocket exploded, severing arteries and leading to massive blood loss. The make and model of the phone and battery have yet to be identified, but seeing how this is the seventh high-profile case of an exploding phone in China in the last six years, it really gives you pause before installing that shady off-brand juice, doesn't it?"
Comment: So does this mean that fluctuating geomagnetic fields would effect the charging of batteries? I have not seen any research but remember Space Weather is only a recent phenomena and at the moment, massive effort is being focused on satellite communications, national grids and pipelines. Whatever, there are many more reports of exploding cell phones.
Lawrence Solomon: Climate change's Antarctic ruffle
Financial Post, 31st January 2009
"How does a new Nature study conclude that Antarctica is warming when actual temperature readings show it is not?" or two decades now, those predicting climate-change catastrophe have been frustrated by skeptics who ask, "If carbon dioxide is warming the planet, why does the data show Antarctica to be cooling?" Until last week, the doomsayers had all manner of complicated explanations but no slam dunk answer. Now, thanks to a new study published last week in Nature magazine, the doomsayers obtained the answer they sought — proof that any fool can understand. The bottom line: Antarctica is in fact warming, just like the rest of the planet. [...]
How do Mann and the other scientists involved in the Nature study now conclude that Antarctica is warming when actual temperature readings show it is not? Antarctica's weather stations cover a small fraction of the continent. Where data doesn't exist, Mann makes various assumptions, then deduces Antarctic temperatures over the last 50 years with the help of computer models. The official explanation: "The researchers devised a statistical technique that uses data from satellites and from Antarctic weather stations to make a new estimate of temperature trends. Are these statistical techniques reliable?
"I have to say I remain somewhat skeptical," states Kevin Trenberth, a lead author for the IPCC and director of climate analysis at the National Center for Atmospheric Research. "It is hard to make data where none exist."
Such results "have no real way to be validated," states John Christy, an atmospheric scientist at the University of Alabama-Huntsville. "We will never know what the temperature was over the very large missing areas that this technique attempts to fill in." [...]
Michael Mann and Nature are not new to political controversy, or dubious science. The two collaborated before — in publishing what became known as the hockey-stick graph. This graph — which showed the 1990s to be the hottest decade of the hottest century of the last thousand years — became one of the most publicized facts of the year when it was published. Then the hockey stick became slapstick as it became an object of ridicule: Mann's statistical techniques were shown to be entirely invalid and Mann was shown to have lacked the statistical knowledge demanded by the study. Mann and Nature refused to make public the data used to produce the graph, Nature refused to publish a response rebutting the hockey stick graph and Nature's peer review process was shown to be a sham. It took years, and a U.S. Congressional committee, to finally resolve the dispute, to Mann's and Nature's shame. Mercifully, the verdict over the latest offering from these two is seeing a speedier resolution."
Comment: With this latest study, Michael Mann has probably now cemented his reputation for crying wolf with dubious data and it will become increasing difficult for him to have any credibility amongst the scientific community.
Sanskrit mantras to open US session
Kerala Online, 31st January 2009
"Four state legislatures of USA are opening their sessions with Hindu prayers containing ancient Sanskrit shlokas, including three reportedly for the first time, and thus creating a milestone in American religious history. [...]According to Rajan Zed these verses are selected from the Rig-Veda, the oldest scripture of the world still in common use, dated from beyond 1,500 BCE; the Upanishads and Bhagavad-Gita (Song of the Lord), both ancient Hindu scriptures. From the Brahadaranyak Upanishad, Zed plans to say, "Asato ma sad gamaya, Tamaso ma jyotir gamaya, Mrtyor mamrtam gamaya", which roughly translates as "Lead us from the unreal to the Real, from darkness to Light, and from death to Immortality.""
Comment: Amen!
Scientists Find that Low Self-Esteem & Materialism Goes Hand in Hand
Daily Galaxy, 30th January 2009
"Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need." ~From the movie Fight Club, based on the novel by Chuck Palahniuk A Galaxy classic...with a recession going full force, we thought this feature might help ease the pain. Researchers have found that low self-esteem and materialism are not just a correlation, but also a causal relationship where low self esteem increases materialism, and materialism can also create low self-esteem. The also found that as self esteem increases, materialism decreases. The study primarily focused on how this relationship affects children and adolescents. Lan Nguyen Chaplin (University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign) and Deborah Roedder John (University of Minnesota) found that even a simple gesture to raise self-esteem dramatically decreased materialism, which provides a way to cope with insecurity. [...] In the book "Happiness: Lessons From a New Science", Richard Layard exposes a paradox at the heart of our lives. Most of us want more income so we can consume more. Yet as societies become richer, they do not become happier. In fact, the First World has more depression, more alcoholism and more crime than fifty years ago. This paradox is true of Britain, the United States, continental Europe and Japan. [...] Mad Magazine summed it up with the statement, "The only reason a great many American families don't own an elephant is that they have never been offered an elephant for a dollar down and easy weekly payments.""
Comment: The elephant comment is hilarious!
World is getting colder
It's the sun, not CO2, that's to blame
Washington Times, 30th January 2009
"...To anyone analyzing this data with common sense, it is obvious that factors other than CO2 emissions are ruling the climate. And the same applies to other periods of the planet's history. Al Gore, in his famous movie "The Inconvenient Truth," had simply omitted to say that for the past 420,000 years that he cited as an example, rises in CO2 levels in the atmosphere always followed increases in global temperature by at least 800 years. It means that CO2 can't possibly be the cause of the warming cycles. So, if it's not CO2, what is it that makes the world's temperature periodically rise and fall? The obvious answer is the sun, and sea currents in a subsidiary manner."
Comment: Unfortunately, climate change is not being viewed with common sense but rather as the next major business opportunity. However, a few major blasts of Space Weather knocking out a few major power grids will cause some to at least re-think, whilst they are sitting in the dark.
Third man theory of otherworldly encounters Encounters with otherworldly beings that lead us out of danger are more common than you think
The Star, 30th January 2009
"On Sept. 11, 2001, overcome by smoke in a stairwell of the World Trade Center's south tower, money market broker Ron DiFrancesco joined others lying on the concrete floor, some slipping into unconsciousness. "Get up!" a voice ordered DiFrancesco, who sensed a physical presence encouraging him. Descending the stairs again, he was blocked by fire. The being led him to dash through the flames. He raced down to the plaza; then the tower collapsed. But he survived, one of only four people to escape from above the 81st floor. Some believe it's a guardian angel. Others say it's the brain's way of coping under great duress. Whichever, the experiences are eerily similar: the sense of a presence that encourages, advises and even leads a person out of peril. "In every case I found, it was a benevolent helpful companion, not a single example of a malevolent being," says John Geiger, author of The Third Man Factor published this week."
Comment: Interesting!
Hospital calls in exorcist after ghost spotted
A hospital has called in an exorcist after staff claimed they were being haunted by a ghost.
The Telegraph, 30th January 2009
"Staff at Derby's new City General, soon to be renamed the Royal Hospital, which is built on the original City General site, claim a black-clad figure wearing a cloak is stalking the corridors and wards. [...]
Senior manager Debbie Butler has now reportedly briefed the terrified employees via email, explaining that they have hired an exorcist to come and rid the £334 million hospital of their unwanted visitor.
One source told The Sun: "There have been dozens of sightings over recent weeks and people are scared witless. "Several have seen a male figure cloaked from had to toe in black darting between rooms and through walls - especially in departments near the morgue. "It's affected morale so much that bosses decided they had to act." The Catholic Church only uses exorcism as a last resort and the ritual must be pre-approved by a bishop."
Comment: Well, as the aetheric density clears, far more people will be able to see ghosts and this is going to become a major problem. So, how some people are going to stay balanced as our world morphs rapidly is a major mystery to me. Where exactly are the major campaigns to educate at a mainstream level that our reality is changing rapidly?
With Al Due Respect, We're Doomed
Washington Post, 29th January 2009
"The lawmakers gazed in awe at the figure before them. The Goracle had seen the future, and he had come to tell them about it. What the Goracle saw in the future was not good: temperature changes that "would bring a screeching halt to human civilization and threaten the fabric of life everywhere on the Earth — and this is within this century, if we don't change." The chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, John Kerry (D-Mass.), appealed to hear more of the Goracle's premonitions. "Share with us, if you would, sort of the immediate vision that you see in this transformative process as we move to this new economy," he beseeched. "Geothermal energy," the Goracle prophesied. "This has great potential; it is not very far off.""
Comment: This article strongly characterises Al Gore as a religious zealot so he is being lampooned in this article, but with the question and answer format and the style and substance of the responses, this is really deserved. However, if you realise that at some level, Al Gore understands that humanity is on the cusp of change and it is in no way certain what our destiny will be, then lots of the prophetic type statements will make a lot more sense.
The Madoff files: Bernie's billions
The Independent, 29th January 2009
"How did Bernhard Madoff set about building the most audacious fraud in history? Did no one suspect that his investments were too good to be true? And how could his sons and brother, who helped run the family business, know nothing of the deception? As the full story emerges, Stephen Foley pieces together the $50bn puzzle.
Comment: It's interesting to realise that there was one person who could clearly see that Madoff & his business was a fraud and was prepared to actually do something to make his point. Others realised this, but went along with it because their commissions were more important than their concern for their clients money. I actually think there is a lot more to this story as it's impossible to believe that somebody can loot this much money and certain authorities were not aware.
Attempts to Contact Aliens Date Back More Than 150 Years
Yahoo News, 29th January 2009
"The desire to contact intelligent life on other planets is much older than the UFO craze and the SETI movement. Several 19th century scientists contemplated how we might communicate with possible Martians and Venusians."
Comment: This article is amusing, but of course not a serious attempt at informing the general public of anything really interesting. As many accounts detail, our planet is under constant visitation and some suggest there is a permanent residence here by some ETs. Then we have to define what exactly we mean by 'alien' as plasma lifeforms can be considered like bacteria and have their own right to existence busy going about their business. The fact that most humans are only capable of seeing in the narrow visible light part of the electromagnetic spectrum, does not mean that other "entities" do not exist or have a right to existence. This is why the current change to the aetheric density/electromagnetic vacuum of our planet is causing panic in certain quarters. Joe Bloggs can quite clearly see with or without ordinary digital technology that we are NOT alone. In the old days, researchers claimed the cameras had to be "sensitised" and then maybe something would get caught, but current reports state that ordinary people with brand new cameras are catching all sorts. I have one amazing picture given to me by a friend that clearly shows that lifeforms exist that are better described as "light beings". Then of course there are the New Agers who claim they are channelling "entities", whilst some of them are so unaware that these same beings are often described as UFOs..... for these people, their levels of ignorance is just too much and as far as I am concerned, they have NO credibility.....
The Amazing Story Behind the Global Warming Scam
KUSI News, 28th January 2009
"The key players are now all in place in Washington and in state governments across America to officially label carbon dioxide as a pollutant and enact laws that tax we citizens for our carbon footprints. Only two details stand in the way, the faltering economic times and a dramatic turn toward a colder climate. The last two bitter winters have led tthe public to be skeptical that any runaway global warning. There is now awareness that there may be reason to question whether CO2 is a pollutant and a significant greenhouse gas. How did we ever get to this point where bad science is driving big government? And how will we ever stop it?"

England [UK]: More UFOs over Wimbledon? [Pink Squid]
Your Local Guardian, 28th January 2009
"I thought it was a balloon at first, but it was as big as a house. I went out on the roof and took some pictures. "It had tentacles that appeared squid like and even mimicked a squids movement at times. I am sure other people would have seen it too since this jellyfish appeared rather large in broad daylight."
Comment:Unbelievable.... Unfortunately the picture is poor quality but I will check to see if other sightings and pictures emerge. At the moment, I can only go by the thousands of hours spent researching the process of evolutionary change with information gained from metaphysical sources and therefore I am sticking to my assertion that we are seeing an exodus of plasma lifeforms that can no longer cope with the higher frequencies. Since London is notorious for it's low energies, the fact that we are seeing these 'creatures' is still really, well shocking.... This is really an 'Alice in Wonderland' scenario..... unbelievable....
Newly Launched Satellite Fails in Space
Space.com, 28th January 2009
PARIS - The Eutelsat W2M telecommunications satellite - the inaugural product of a Euro-Indian commercial joint venture - has failed in orbit just five weeks after launch and is likely a total loss, industry officials said. Paris-based Eutelsat, in a Jan. 28 statement, confirmed that W2M, launched Dec. 20, suffered "a major anomaly affecting the satellite's power subsystem" and would not fulfill its role of replacing Eutelsat's W2 satellite at the company's 16 degrees east orbital position. [...] The satellite is the latest to fail in space in recent weeks. On Jan. 15, the SES Luxemburg-owned telecommunications satellite Astra 5A failed after 12 years in Earth orbit. An update released by NASA's Orbital Debris Program Office this month reported that the Soviet-era Cosmos 1818 satellite, which launched in 1987 with its own nuclear reactor, is breaking apart in orbit."
Comment: There have been no reports of poor space conditions in the near Earth environment that could cause this failure or others in recent weeks, but it could still be an indication of worsening space weather from cosmic and galactic sources. I note that the replies to the posting mention the issue of 'tin whiskers', quite frankly we have a new piece of junk in space and no way of getting it down to examine whether tin whiskers was the cause.
Forecasting Guru Announces: "no scientific basis for forecasting climate"
wattsupwiththat.com, 28th January 2009
"It has been an interesting couple of days. Today yet another scientist has come forward with a press release saying that not only did their audit of IPCC forecasting procedures and found that they "violated 72 scientific principles of forecasting", but that "The models were not intended as forecasting models and they have not been validated for that purpose." [...] What these two authorities, Drs Theon and Armstrong, are independently and explicitly stating is that the computer models underpinning the work of many scientific institutions concerned with global warming, including Australia’s CSIRO, are fundamentally flawed.
Comment: Well, this is getting really interesting, before we just had fisticuffs but this is starting to sound like a declaration of war!
Co-op bans eight pesticides after worldwide beehive collapse
First UK supermarket chain – and Britain's biggest farmer – to prohibit chemicals implicated in the death of over one-third of British bees
The Guardian, 28th January 2009
"The Co-op today became the first UK supermarket to ban the use of a group of pesticides implicated in billions of honeybee deaths worldwide. It is prohibiting suppliers of its own-brand fresh produce from using eight pesticides that have been connected to honeybee colony collapse disorder and are already restricted in some parts of Europe. The Co-op said it will eliminate the usage of the neonicotinoid family of chemicals where possible and until they are shown to be safe. The Co-op has over 70,000 acres of land under cultivation in England and Scotland, making it the largest farmer in the UK. Since 2001, it has already prohibited the use of 98 pesticides under its pesticide policy.
Comment: It's amazing that our food production has to be under serious threat before sellers realise that maybe if they don't do something, soon there will be nothing to sell.
New science could help solve climate crisis
The Times of India, 28th January 2009
"LONDON: A new science that seeks to fight climate change using methods like giant space mirrors might not work on its own, but when combined with cuts in greenhouse gases it may help reverse global warming, a research report said. In the report published on Wednesday, researchers at Britain's University of East Anglia assessed the climate cooling potential of "geoengineering" schemes that also include pumping aerosol into the atmosphere and fertilizing the oceans with nutrients. "We found that some geoengineering options could usefully complement mitigation, and together they could cool the climate, but geoengineering alone cannot solve the climate problem," said Professor Tim Lenton, the report's lead author."
Comment: Well, now that NASA have informed the world that severe Space Weather could be a serious issue in the future, it's not surprising that crackpot schemes of giant mirrors in space are being promoted. Obviously, this impacts the need for CO2 related trading schemes and real methods for reducing CO2, so this article is reassuring the doubtful that they are all needed. Meanwhile, this article does not mention the cost which is estimated in the trillions of dollars and the possible catastrophic risk to life on Earth if the delicate balance between the Earth and the Sun is adversely disturbed.
Comet impact theory disproved
Physorg.com, 27th January 2009
"New data, published today, disproves the recent theory that a large comet exploded over North America 12,900 years ago, causing a shock wave that travelled across North America at hundreds of kilometres per hour and triggering continent-wide wildfires. Dr Sandy Harrison from the University of Bristol and colleagues tested the theory by examining charcoal and pollen records to assess how fire regimes in North America changed between 15 and 10,000 years ago, a time of large and rapid climate changes."
Comment: This is interesting as it reinforces the notion that there was a cosmic event but it was not caused by an exploding comet. At the moment, a Space Weather event is the only explanation that fits all the data.
James Hansen's Former NASA Supervisor Declares Himself a Skeptic - Says Hansen 'Embarrassed NASA' & 'Was Never Muzzled'
EPW, 27th January 2009
"Washington DC: NASA warming scientist James Hansen, one of former Vice-President Al Gore's closest allies in the promotion of man-made global warming fears, is being publicly rebuked by his former supervisor at NASA.
Retired senior NASA atmospheric scientist, Dr. John S. Theon, the former supervisor of James Hansen, NASA's vocal man-made global warming fear soothsayer, has now publicly declared himself a skeptic and declared that Hansen "embarrassed NASA" with his alarming climate claims and said Hansen was "was never muzzled." Theon joins the rapidly growing ranks of international scientists abandoning the promotion of man-made global warming fears." [...] Theon declared "climate models are useless." "My own belief concerning anthropogenic climate change is that the models do not realistically simulate the climate system because there are many very important sub-grid scale processes that the models either replicate poorly or completely omit," Theon explained. "Furthermore, some scientists have manipulated the observed data to justify their model results. In doing so, they neither explain what they have modified in the observations, nor explain how they did it. They have resisted making their work transparent so that it can be replicated independently by other scientists. This is clearly contrary to how science should be done. Thus there is no rational justification for using climate model forecasts to determine public policy," he added.
Comment: Note that this 'denier' is retired. Unfortunately, there is a clear pattern where many people only speak out against popular ideas when they have nothing to lose financially. Thus, I have the most respect for scientists who publish controversial papers or take a public stance on certain issues knowing full well that their livelihood is at stake. Whatever, this statement totally damning.... I will be interesting to see how other scientists react and whether the steady stream of scientists who have been running for the exit will now turn into a sudden flood.... Russia: UFO emitting beam seen by many villagers.
All News Web, 26th January 2009
"A mysterious UFO was witnessed by dozens of residents of a number of villages in Western Russia on the night of the January 6 2009. The UFO was orb shaped and changed colour from glowing white to electric blue. It periodically emitted a white laser beam in the direction of the ground. The UFO travelled in a manner unlike any man made craft. The incident was widely reported in the Russian media but unsurprisingly received no media coverage anywhere else. Villagers of Kurskaya, Gatovya, Manakhova and Terekhova in the Starooskolsk region near the city of Belgorad, 40 kilometres from the border with the Ukraine saw the object. Most interestingly many claimed to have experienced interference with to their TV reception, amplified when the white laser beam struck the ground and when the object moved directly over their homes." Comment: Again, we have an orb emitting a laser beam into the Earth like the incident in Bristol, UK (see November 2008 archives). It seems that Dr Valery Uvarov is actually misquoted here, as we have no idea whether his perspective that many UFOs are actually 3D holograms is applicable in this case. It will be interesting to note if this pattern is seen elsewhere around the globe and whether any 'informed' opinion exists as to what is taking place. Update Other Beam-Firing UFOs in Past.
Penguin at zoo refuses to swim because he is afraid of cold water
The Telegraph, 26th January 2009
"Most penguins like nothing better than to get their feathers wet with a quick swim, but this elderly bird refuses to move from his rock – because he is afraid of cold water. Kentucky the penguin, described as a 'runt' by his keepers, refuses to take the plunge with his other 23 penguin pals at Blackbrook Zoological Park in Leek, Staffordshire. Staff at the zoo have seen the 11-year-old become a surprise hit with visitors at the park due to his unusual phobia. The Humboldt penguin was born smaller than his arctic brothers and sisters and has had moulting problems since birth which make the water 'a bit too cold for him', staff say."
Comment: Poor thing! A penguin afraid of cold water, surely this is a problem with it's DNA? I don't think many would argue that this is a psychological cause.
Ocean 'fertilisation' team ordered to halt global warming experiment
The Telegraph, 25th January 2009
"Ocean 'fertilisation' team ordered to halt global warming experiment
An expedition including British scientists that hoped to "fertilise" the ocean to combat global warming was last night ordered to stop because of concerns that the experiment could breach international law. The team planned to drop 20 tons of iron sulphate into waters around the Antarctic to stimulate the growth of plankton, which would take in carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Environmentalists had claimed that the experiment – aimed at creating a 186-square-mile bloom of plankton between Cape Horn and the Cape of Good Hope so big that it will be visible from outer space – could have a devastating impact on the oceans and may even speed up global warming. The German government last night ordered scientists on the German polar research ship RV Polarstern to halt their work in the Southern Ocean, amid concerns that it may be banned under the UN's Convention on Biological Diversity."
Comment: Update: Germany OKs Atlantic global warming experiment, see previous comments on this subject.
Close call: weird asteroid skims Earth today
The Space News Examiner, 25th January 2009
"There's a newly-discovered weird asteroid kid on Earth's block, and it's moved in close. Really, really close, in space terms. Asteroid 2009 BD is cruising by us today at a distance of only about 400,000 miles, according to NASA's Near Earth Object Program. This strange asteroid is estimated to be 5. 7 meters to 13 meters in diameter. Astronomers will be studying 2009 BD with great interest, because it may be a very rare coorbital asteroid. In 2006, NASA's Dr. Tony Phillips explained how these type of asteroids corkscrew as they move in tandem with Earth."
Comment: OK, the asteroid follows a helical path, this is one of the most fundamental patterns found in the universe, so it's a wonder why it is considered rare.
This is the frozen north … of the UAE [United Arab Emirates]
Global Freeze, 25th January 2009
"Snow covered the Jebel Jais area for only the second time in recorded history yesterday.
So rare was the event that one lifelong resident said the local dialect had no word for it.
According to the RAK Government, temperatures on Jebel Jais dropped to -3°C on Friday night. On Saturday, the area had reached 1°C. Major Saeed Rashid al Yamahi, a helicopter pilot and the manager of the Air Wing of RAK Police, said the snow covered an area of five kilometres and was 10cm deep. "The sight up there this morning was totally unbelievable, with the snow-capped mountain and the entire area covered with fresh, dazzling white snow," Major al Yamahi said."
Comment: See mountain dwellers building a snow man! Video [1:14] at Arabian business,Watch video of UAE's 'once in a lifetime' snow fall. More evidence of the chaos of climate change, rather than global warming.
Hillary Clinton Favors Diplomatic Response to Extraterrestrial Life
Honolulu Exopolitics Examiner, 24th January 2009
"Newly confirmed Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton has long had an interest in UFOs and the existence of extraterrestrial life. She was given an informal briefing in August 1995 by billionaire philanthropist Laurence Rockefeller, on the best available UFO evidence. An August 4, 1995, memo by President Clinton's Science Advisor, Dr Jack Gibbons, confirmed that the Clintons would be vacationing with Rockefeller at his Teton Ranch in Wyoming that summer, and they would discuss UFOs:"
Comment: Surely, anyone who has studied the subject to any depth must realise that a extraterrestrial presence on this planet exists. It's really not an intellectual exercise to realise that our 'visitors' are not here to invade because they would have done that a very long time ago. Hillary Clinton's interest, only mirrors that of someone who is intelligent and is interested in what is happening in our world. So, unlike many, she does does not feel the need to bury her head in the sand and ignore the evidence. Hillary is smart and has probably realised that taking part in galactic diplomacy would definitely ensure her name goes down in history BIG TIME. We know the new administration has a new agenda of open government, so we will have to see what happens. See UFO files to be released under Obama Open Government Memoranda. It's time for the majority of the citizens on this planet to awaken to a new reality. Certainly, new circumstances will not allow anything else.
Fatal Storms Hit Spain and France
BBC News, 24th January 2009
"Three children have been killed in northern Spain when the roof of a sports hall collapsed amid high winds, local officials say. Two adults were also reported to have died in other storm-related incidents. Torrential rains and winds of up to 172km/h (107mph) have been battering northern Spain and south-west France. At least one million homes in France are without electricity, roads and railways have been blocked and airports ordered closed, authorities there said."
Comment: Maybe, we may have a link here with the strange apparition over Toulouse (see below) on the 19th January and atmospheric conditions that generated powerful storms across northern Spain and south-west France.
Mind out of balance, body out of balance
Physorg.com, 22nd January 2009
"Many of the 40 million American adults who suffer from anxiety disorders also have problems with balance. As increasing numbers of children are diagnosed with anxiety, Tel Aviv University researchers have discovered that the link between balance and anxiety can be assessed at an early age - and that something can be done about it before it becomes a problem.
Dr. Orit Bart at Tel Aviv University's School of Health Professions, and her colleagues, have found that a simple course of physical treatment for balance problems can also resolve anxiety issues in children. Her work offers new hope for normal social and emotional development for children with both disorders. Anxiety has a significant impact on children's personal and academic well-being. While not all kids with anxiety have balance problems, all those with balance problems do exhibit symptoms of anxiety, pointing to a link between the two conditions. "This is a breakthrough in the field of occupational therapy," says Dr. Bart."
Comment: Here we have health professionals who have found a way to treat physical balance problems and therefore alleviate emotional issues, proving there is a link. The metaphysical perspective suggests the emotional issues are the cause of the physical symptoms and as the electromagnetic conditions become extreme on our planet, many more with unresolved emotional issues will suffer with issues of balance.
Scientists discover underground cosmic rays can detect major weather events
Cordis, 22nd January 2009
"A team of British and American scientists has discovered a new method to detect major weather events occurring 32 km up in the Earth's stratosphere. Cosmic rays, detected 0.8 km beneath the planet's surface in an obsolete iron mine, have the potential to identify weather events that happen during the Northern Hemisphere winter. [...] The four-year data showed that a number of high-energy cosmic rays (the energy charged particles from outer space that strike the Earth from every direction) reach a detector deep underground and match temperature measurements in the stratosphere (also known as the upper atmosphere), the researchers said. 'It's fun sitting half a mile underground doing particle physics,' remarked the University of Oxford's Dr Giles Barr, co-author of the study. 'It's even better to know that from down there, we can also monitor a part of the atmosphere that is otherwise quite tricky to measure.' [...] But what struck the scientists in this study was that they observed sporadic and sudden increases in the levels of muons during the winter months. The increases were generated in just a few days, they noted. Their assessment of the data showed that these changes coincided with sudden rises in the stratosphere's temperature. They even observed a 40°C temperature increase in some places. What they discovered was a major weather event, known as a Sudden Stratospheric Warming."
Comment: Well, this adds to evidence that cosmic rays help regulate the temperature of the Earth's atmosphere. The Sudden Stratospheric Warming is very strange and it's interesting that the scientists here do not even attempt to speculate on the source of the sudden increases in cosmic rays and with only four years worth of data, I think that is fair enough.
Severe Space Weather
Physorg.com, 22nd January 2009
"Did you know a solar flare can make your toilet stop working? That's the surprising conclusion of a NASA-funded study by the National Academy of Sciences entitled Severe Space Weather Events—Understanding Societal and Economic Impacts. In the 132-page report, experts detailed what might happen to our modern, high-tech society in the event of a "super solar flare" followed by an extreme geomagnetic storm. They found that almost nothing is immune from space weather—not even the water in your bathroom."
Comment: Well, that includes humans and their energy fields. It seems there is now a growing concern for humans which was not apparent when I did the research for my book, so we find that; "There is a growing body of evidence that changes in the geomagnetic field affect biological systems. Studies indicate that physically stressed human biological systems may respond to fluctuations in the geomagnetic field. Interest and concern in this subject have led the International Union of Radio Science to create a new commission entitled Commission K - Electromagnetics in Biology and Medicine" . Whatever, the author of this article has felt the need to elaborate the point with some poetic licence and neither the executive summary nor the 132 page report mentions flushing the toilet, it only states, pg 16, "the breakdown of the distribution of potable water owing to pump failure;" & pg 31 "The concept of interdependency is evident (for example) in the unavailability of water due to long-term outage of electric power and the inability to restart an electric generator without water on-site, supplies of which have been exhausted." Antarctica warming? An evolution of viewpoint
Watts Up With That, 21st January 2009
"A press release today by the University of Washington makes a claim that Antarctica is warming and has been for the last 50 years: "The study found that warming in West Antarctica exceeded one-tenth of a degree Celsius per decade for the last 50 years and more than offset the cooling in East Antarctica."
Comment: See also Antarctic Warming? Part 2 - A letter from a meteorologist on the ground in Antarctica
The usual skepticism here is even more acute as the infamous Michael Mann is a co-author of a paper that is being used to scare the public into a global warming frenzy. Of course, it's even more difficult when cold weather records are being broken all over the planet, so it seems the most devious are being called upon for their services. Whatever, we are given a more balanced assessment here and an appreciation that western Antarctica is dotted with volanoes, and it is pointed out that recent discovery of new volcanic activity isn't even mentioned in Mann's paper at all.... The letter from a meteorologist on the ground in Antartica is even more damning when we start to realise that there is a real lack of quality data to be used to make these scientific claims.
Brandon, Suffolk, England UFO With A Mass Of Different Colors
HBCC UFO Research, 21st January 2009
Full report: "Driving down a dark road. Above trees on the horizon, a series of white flashing lights, almost like lightning. As we drove round the corner, it seemed the sky opened up to a mass of Red, Orange and Pink colours. With white flashing lights emitting out of the colours. It didn't disappear, but we drove with haste to get away as soon as possible, due to fear."
Comment: This is getting stupid. Bright lights in the sky does not mean it's a UFO!!!!!!! The planet is being deluged by plasma (lightning is a plasma discharge) and it will get far worst, but unfortunately, mainstreet is still totally unaware of the phenomena of Space Weather and when people are faced with the unknown and are afraid, they become extremely irrational. From the 'News of the Imbalance' archive for July 2008, Weather Eye: multi-coloured lightning strikes a mysterious pose , "There were also intriguing reports of different coloured lightning, ranging through white, blue and green. In the past there have also been cases of yellow, pink, red and purple lightning. Even a single bolt of lightning has displayed different colours as it branched out. So what makes different colour lightning?" My original Comment: The article reassures us that most atmospheric scientists don't have a clue why lightning can be multi-coloured, but fortunately a commentator has decided to enlightened the readership and as I suspected, it was related to the properties of plasma. Hence we find the following explanation; "The different colours are plasma arcs caused when the lightning ignites the gases in the atmosphere, blue/green is common for oxygen plasmas and pink is nitrogen. Not really all that mysterious when you think about it."
I would like to add that we are being delivered highly catalytic energies and we are clearly seeing pillars of light that are gold, platinum and red/orange too. Quite frankly, it is now hitting the fan and the general public are totally unprepared for an electromagnetic flood and experiencing a wide range of plasma phenomena, some of which now seems to be no longer confined to the upper layers of our atmosphere.
Why Darwin was wrong about the tree of life
New Scientist, 21st January 2009
"IN JULY 1837, Charles Darwin had a flash of inspiration. In his study at his house in London, he turned to a new page in his red leather notebook and wrote, "I think". Then he drew a spindly sketch of a tree. As far as we know, this was the first time Darwin toyed with the concept of a "tree of life" to explain the evolutionary relationships between different species. [...] "The tree-of-life concept was absolutely central to Darwin's thinking, equal in importance to natural selection, according to biologist W. Ford Doolittle of Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Without it the theory of evolution would never have happened. The tree also helped carry the day for evolution. Darwin argued successfully that the tree of life was a fact of nature, plain for all to see though in need of explanation. The explanation he came up with was evolution by natural selection.
Others, however, don't think it is time to relax. Instead, they see the uprooting of the tree of life as the start of something bigger. "It's part of a revolutionary change in biology," says Dupré. "Our standard model of evolution is under enormous pressure. We're clearly going to see evolution as much more about mergers and collaboration than change within isolated lineages."
Comment: This article is fundamentally flawed as it does not mention the relationship between DNA and the environment even though the last 25 years of research has produced hundreds of papers that confirm this relationship. The results of the Human Genome Project was a massive shock to geneticists when they found that the number of genes could not account for the complexity of humans who had the same number of genes as a rat. The science of epigenetics which means "control above genetics" has revealed that DNA blueprints can be modified by the environment and specifically electromagnetic signals. Thus, anyone who still believes in the primacy of DNA is behind the times, this concept is now dead and this article, mourning the loss of one of Darwin's basic tenets, demonstrates the intransigence that exists in the scientific world.
Dark matter filaments stoked star birth in early galaxies
New Scientist, 21st January 2009
"Tendrils of dark matter channelled gas deep into the hearts of some of the universe's earliest galaxies, a new computer simulation suggests. The result could explain how some massive galaxies created vast numbers of stars without gobbling up their neighbours."
Comment: It is interesting how astronomers are getting closer and closer to conclusions that resonant with basic Electric and Plasma Universe theories, in this case the dark matter would represent plasma in 'dark mode' Yet, at the same time, it's very interesting how scientists are starting to realise that our reality is derived from higher dimensional energies. The mysterious 'dark matter' which I believe is a multi-dimensional plasma, is the basic building blocks of reality or 'spirit' in metaphysical and religious terms.
Loud booms heard in Grand Island, US
The Grand Island Independent, 21st January 2009
"The loud booms heard in Grand Island Tuesday night and this morning are believed to be starling control measures or the acts of curious youth. Milt Moravek, program manager of the Central Platte Natural Resources District, said the NRD began shooting off propane cannons last Friday night for starling control."
Comment: This is the most pathetic excuse for the cause of sonic booms that I have come across, especially when they can't be substantiated by city administrators.
UFO: Physical, Dimensional, or Holographic?
About Australia, January 2009
"So for those who have never seen a UFO, don't be so sure they aren't right over your head at any given time, invisible through vibration. And this can also be proven if you have the access (and the steep dollars) to invest in Generation 3 or 4 night vision goggles (Any lower generation will not do the trick), as used by the military, but available through civilian channels. These goggles take you into the infrared realm, which is just a small leap in vibration that goes beyond the visible light spectrum for which the eye can see. These craft are there, and it is a virtual highway of activity up there on any given night! I have first-hand experience with this, and have watched the right-angle turns, and the interactions between ships. If you get the opportunity to use a set of these, your world will never be the same, if you have yet to see a UFO otherwise. What these beings are up to is another matter. But they seem to be aligning and jockeying for the best seats in the house for the coming Big Show, which is already underway! [...] [....] It's a strange and interesting time to be alive, and we are surely on the precipice of something big!"
Comment: OK, I have a few comments to make about this article. Firstly, the author Dennis Whitney, does not seem familiar with scientists who have already detected the Cosmic Web and are thinking of sending space probes through these 'wormholes' to traverse the galaxy. Secondly, he refers to orbs but he does not talk about plasma entities as he is fixated on metallic objects and so is quite confused when images reveal "...a blur of swirling golden light". Personally, I query any activity that is linked to orbs as they seem to be very busy at the moment cleaning up the planet, but I will admit, I have only focused on orbs that can be considered to be 'divine messengers' and have not considered what 'negative' ones could be up to. Thirdly, he is right to talk about holographic inserts, because the metaphyscial community have already been warned at attempts at deception, however I am not sure if he makes a good case here. Whatever, Whitney has understood enough of the subject to write an informative article and I am pleased that he also confirms metaphysical sources that suggest the UFOs are here to watch the biggest show in the galaxy!
CNN Catches UFO on Camera during inauguration?
News1800, 21st January 2009
"First of all, Congratulations to President Obama and the people of the United Stated of America. Change has happened. And, it seems possible that not only the whole world was watching the inauguration but beyond as well…" One of the questions Obama was asked was whether or not he would give the world insights in to the UFO phenomenon. Some people might think it is not
such an important matter where some think it is the most important question of all time that needs to be answered to the people. How important shows the following video from CNN, live from the inauguration. Please watch the video and take note at 0:08 and focus on the right of the screen. Clearly to be seen is a disk shaped object that flies with incredible speed from the right
of the screen to the left." Comment: CNN may have deleted their online version, but the inauguration was an historical event and millions would have seen and/or have video recordings
that would included this unexpected visitation.... Well, it's been an incredible week and it seems the world can only expect more dramatic changes to our reality.
Australia state declares massive monsoon disaster
Reuters, 20th January 2009
"CANBERRA, Jan 20 (Reuters) - Australia's tropical Queensland state on Thursday declared a flood disaster over an area the size of France and Germany after recent monsoon storms. Thirty Queensland communities covering 969,000 square km (374,000 sq miles) were declared disaster zones by the state's emergency services minister, Neil Roberts, including many outback and rural communities. Queensland residents affected by storms would be able to apply for government assistance payments if they were "unable to recover via their own means", Roberts said. Eight major rivers remain in flood after monsoonal rains and a cyclone moved across the state, cutting roads and forcing many small communities to rely on air drops of food and fresh water.
The floods are eventually expected to move inland, helping fill lakes and relieving a long-running drought in parts of Australia's desert interior and tropical north."
Comment: Do you remember the Australian Prime Minister asking people to pray for rain?
A UFO in the Toulouse Sky?
SOTT, 20th January 2009
"The object was seen in Villemur, Montauban and the Tarn department.
The remnant of a spacecraft? A meteorite fragment? Little green men? Questions remain after a mysterious apparition literally pierced the sky in the area North of Toulouse, last Saturday in the late afternoon. Several persons witnessed what most of them would later describe as a "big red light falling from the sky". The object was not only seen in Montauban, but also around the Tarn border and in Villemur-sur-Tarn, where Martine, a resident who was coming home from shopping, reported: "Suddenly, I saw a kind of red square shining like fire. The object formed an arc in the sky. It was really, really big. I'm a a rational person and I don't believe in aliens. But I'd like to know what it was..." So would many witnesses. In Toulouse's Jolimont observatory, Laurent Koechlin saw the strange UFO too. He confirms, while remaining cautious. "We received several calls on Monday. It was indeed a meteor, which means the object was real and was falling from the sky. It's the second one I've seen in my life. My opinion would be that it's a natural element, but we'll have to cross-check the information in order to know more. I think it was big enough not to be entirely pulverized. In my opinion, he fell somewhere and should be looked for in the South, maybe in the Pyrénées."
Comment: Unfortunately at the moment, the media are stating that any new phenomenon in the sky is a UFO.
On first appearance, this looks like a Transient luminous event, the halo shape puts it in the category of elves, normally found at 100 km in the region known as the 'E region' of the ionosphere and scientists have only recently acknowledged this new phenomena since 1989 and are still cataloguing new variants. However, we know that our atmosphere has been severely weakened due to our own stupdity with nuclear bombs and experiments like HAARP, so with all the other atmospheric changes that our scientist are monitoring and occasionally reporting caused by Space Weather, a bombardment of solar, cosmic and galactic energy, it seems something fundamental is taking place. It's getting surreal, our world is about to get massive doses of Space Weather, which will be aided either way
by a quiet or active sun, an electromagnetic flood and like in the days of Noah, most people are too preoccupied to notice it has already started to rain....
"Hudson air crash caused by 'global warming'"
SPPI, 19th January 2009
"The scare: In late January 2008, Time magazine blamed the bird-strike that brought down an Airbus passenger aircraft in the Hudson River, New York, on "global warming". This was the latest in a long series of articles in scientifically-unaware mainstream news media, blaming real or imagined climate events on "global warming". Such alarmism defies Occam's razor, the philosophical principle by which the simplest explanation of an event is nearly always the true explanation. The Time article said that "Wildlife mitigation" was the official term for avoiding bird strikes. A report published in June 1988 by the Federal Aviation Administration had found that since 1990 the number of bird strikes had quadrupled, from 1,759 in 1990 to a record 7,666 in 2007. According to Time, "Officials cite a number of possible causes for the increase", including "habitat destruction and climate change", which "have disrupted migratory patterns". Time adds, "Al Gore should be very proud of himself."
Comment: Lord Monckton tears into global warming alarmism.
How the world was bullied into silence
Canada Free Press, 19th January 2009
"One of the most disturbing aspects of the global warming scam is the number of prominent people and entire segments of society bullied into silence. Consider the case of Dr. Joanne Simpson described as follows. "the first woman in the world to receive a PhD in meteorology, and formerly of NASA, who has authored more than 190 studies and has been called "among the most preeminent scientists of the last 100 years." Then consider her statement. "Since I am no longer affiliated with any organization nor receiving any funding, I can speak quite frankly….As a scientist I remain skeptical...
The main basis of the claim that man's release of greenhouse gases is the cause of the warming is based almost entirely upon climate models. We all know the frailty of models concerning the air-surface system." No, we don't all know the frailty of the models! Certainly most of the media and thereby the public and politicians don’t know, otherwise the latter would not be planning completely unnecessary, incredibly expensive and society altering policies. But the opening comment is actually frightening and speaks to why the scam has progressed so far. "Since I am no longer affiliated with any organization nor receive any funding, I can speak quite frankly."
[...] Why would a scientist in an organization directly involved in climate science not feel free to speak out? But they are not the only ones who have kept quiet. Entire segments of society have either remained silent or taken evasive action. Few had the courage to even ask for a full and open debate. Now everything is changing as the claims of warming are offset by the realities of cooling."
Comment: Professor Tim Ball who wrote this article and who appeared in the documentary, 'The Great Global Warming Swindle' has stated that he received death threats due to his skepticism that anthropogenic (manmade) global warming was caused by an increase in CO2 that was being generated by humans. Now that NASA have informed the world that Space Weather is now a threat to our civilisation and there are a host of geoengineering plans that even include placing a giant mirror in space to reflect energy from the Sun. It is hoped that a few more intelligent folk will realise that the global warming alarmism is a cover to mask the symptoms of evolutionary change on our planet.
Northern Europe Marvels at Mysterious Blue Light
Spiegel, 19th January 2009
"First there was a bluish glow, then a bang and a shockwave. Residents across northern Europe marvelled at the mysterious phenomenon, which is believed to have been a meteorite crashing into the Baltic Sea off the coast of northern Germany over the weekend. A mysterious bluish-green flash of light followed by a loud bang alarmed residents across northern Germany, Denmark and southern Sweden on Saturday night and prompted dozens of people to call the police. "There was a dull thunder and I felt pressure in my chest," said one eyewitness in the northern German city of Rostock."
Comment: See YouTube video (0:09), YouTube - Meteor i Sverige, 17 Jan -09 (Meteor, Sweden) It seems that we are waiting for NASA or any other space agency to inform the world that our planet is now being bombarded by an asteroid shower or that satellites are now routinely falling out of the sky due to the brutal electrical conditions in our near Earth environment, caused by the highly charged region of space that our solar system is now traversing.
Millions see UFO crash, Saudi Arabia
All News Web, 19th January 2009
"Astonishing events are occuring around the world and not as much as a word about them is being written or said in the West. In Saudi Arabia last week what might well have be a UFO, possibly crashing into earth, was witnessed by literally millions of people in the vicinity. Multiple photos of the object have come to light.
Arabic language forums are abuzz with Saudi citizens claiming to have witnessed what is even being described by some in the normally conservative Saudi Arabian press as a possible UFO either crashing to earth or simply executing manoeuvres designed to scare humans. Others are claiming the object was an Asteroid or a Satellite. Witnesses are reported to be waiting for an explanation from local meteorological bureau’s but have received no answers yet."
Comment: With all the reports at the moment, things are getting wild. My first impression was that a satellite or even a space station has fallen out of orbit, but I am sure there will be more news soon.
Mrs Mugabe 'beats up photographer on shopping spree'
Times Online, 19th January 2009
"The wife of Robert Mugabe, the Zimbabwean President, has flown home from Hong Kong after a holiday in one of the city's most opulent hotels and what witnesses allege was a "frenzied" attack on a British photographer.
Grace Mugabe, 43, was allowed to leave the territory despite an investigation by police in Kowloon into an incident where she allegedly flew into a rage when a photographer working for The Sunday Times attempted to snap her leaving her hotel."
Comment: It is not uncommon for famous people and celebrities to lose their tempers with photographers, but somehow I am still quite curious to the source of her inner rage. Maybe there is a deep seated guilt that her fellow citizens are suffering due to her husband's mismanagment and feels that her priviledged life should be kept private. Whatever, giving a journalist a fairly severe beating with her diamond knuckledusters does seem totally inappropriate and unbalanced.
Facts debunk global warming alarmism
The Australian, 18th January 2009
"THE National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reported that October in the US was marked by 63 record snowfalls and 115 lowest-ever temperatures.
Over the past few years, similar signs of colder than usual weather have been recorded all over the world, causing many people to question the still fashionable, but now long outdated, global warming alarmism. Yet individual weather events or spells, whether warmings or coolings, tell us nothing necessarily about true climate change. Nonetheless, by coincidence, growing recognition of a threat of climatic cooling is correct, because since the turn of the 21st century all real world, long-term climate indicators have turned downwards. Global atmospheric temperature reached a peak in 1998, has not warmed since 1995 and, has been cooling since 2002. Some people, still under the thrall of the Intergovernmental Panel of Climate Change's disproved projections of warming, seem surprised by this cooling trend, even to the point of denying it. But why?"
Comment: Unfortunately, the global warming theory is failing as people with and without scientific training are querying some of the basic assumptions.
Dazzling [Diamond ]UFO seen and flimed by eight firefighters
All News Web, 18th January 2009
"A remarkable UFO was seen and filmed in China by an entire squadron of fire-fighters in Liu Pan Shui City in the province of Guizhou through a camera with a 700X zoom capability. [...] Luckily for Wang he was able to find a Panasonic camera used by his comrades to record damage caused by fires that allowed him to zoom in on the mysterious object seven hundred times. At that point Wang could see that the object was in fact two rotating spinning top shaped crafts or halves of a whole craft joined at a their bases. They were flashing a multitude of colours: Purple, red, blue, orange, white and gold. [...] The UFO corresponds to the craft often described in sightings around the word as a 'diamond UFO'. These craft are usually seen at great heights and almost never seen on earth itself. This has lead some to believe they are highly evolved technology well beyond your 'standard' saucer and might be used to travel from other civilized planets rather merely used to explore planets like earth after exiting a more substantial mother ship. The incident has received wide coverage by mainstream media in China, although it has received no publicity in the west as far as we know. Hardly surprising, as this is a credible and compelling incident of the type Western Governments would rather people not know about. The Chinese Government, however, is known to take a more open minded approach to UFOs and generally regards them as fact."
Comment: The serious flyers are diamond shaped? After reading the story listed below,
Crop Circles and Government with Colin Andrews and the tremendous effort to cover up the whole orb phenomena to the point where the UK Military have carried out surveillance on the Army/Navy/Royal Air Force and Police who have been carrying out surveillance on crop circles and orbs! It really makes you wonder, especially when some governments have a matter of fact attitude to the existence of UFOs. Therefore, anybody who understands the issues realises that we are not about to be invaded, rather, something else much more interesting is happening....
Another UFO sighting - in Australia!
Harlow Herald 24, 17th January 2009
"Australian Yvonne Vincent contacted the Herald newsroom this week to tell us about her own UFO experience on January 1. [...] "On my short drive home I saw a fireball sphere in the sky. In Donvale, which is about 14km from Melbourne. I thought it was a meteor rock on fire. I drove left into Shirvington Place a street off Doncaster Road and watched it for a good two and a half minutes. "I kept asking my friend what was it and he was stunned jumping out of my car, we watched it. The streets were quiet it was a dark street anyway. "Watching the fireball it seemed not very far away, quite close actually. It was orange and yellow flames inside a perfect, perfect sphere. There was no glow around it and no sound. There was no trail behind it, it just moved as a perfect sphere that looked like a fireball. [...] It was scary to begin with but then just amazing! It changes perspective on life to be more open minded and I am a deep thinker most of the time really anyway so this is very interesting."
Comment: This is not a dramatic report and believe me there have been many to choose from, but I was impressed that this woman was profoundly effected in a positive way from her experience and it must be hoped that as more and more plasma entities are seen and become a common sight, that most people will calmly accept this as the new reality.
Congratulations To Anthony Watts For His Well Deserved Recognition! -
Climate Science, 16th January 2009
"This is an appropriate and well deserved recognition of the importance of Anthony's weblog Watts Up With That, which is providing a much needed discussion of climate science. We all should look forward to another year of accomplishments and issues from this outstanding website!"
Comment: Congratulations from Joyfire, this is well deserved!
Our world may be a giant hologram
New Scientist, 15th January 2009
"For the past seven years, this German set-up has been looking for gravitational waves - ripples in space-time thrown off by super-dense astronomical objects such as neutron stars and black holes. GEO600 has not detected any gravitational waves so far, but it might inadvertently have made the most important discovery in physics for half a century. For many months, the GEO600 team-members had been scratching their heads over inexplicable noise that is plaguing their giant detector. Then, out of the blue, a researcher approached them with an explanation. In fact, he had even predicted the noise before he knew they were detecting it. According to Craig Hogan, a physicist at the Fermilab particle physics lab in Batavia, Illinois, GEO600 has stumbled upon the fundamental limit of space-time - the point where space-time stops behaving like the smooth continuum Einstein described and instead dissolves into "grains", just as a newspaper photograph dissolves into dots as you zoom in. "It looks like GEO600 is being buffeted by the microscopic quantum convulsions of space-time," says Hogan."
Comment: The scientists are looking for ripples in space-time but the detector is being "buffetted" left right and centre by "noise" then someone comes along and tells them, er that's exactly what you should expect.... isn't the scientific method wonderful.... Maybe an explanation is that space-time is under constant bombardment, rather than the occasional ripple, space-time is in a maelstrom as wave after wave of cosmic energies pass through from the galactic center. Scientific studies state that everything in this dimension is dependent on space-time or higher dimensions held in space-time, we know that something fundamental is taking place, but for all the millions spent of detectors, we are none the wiser and those who are interested can only rely on information from metaphysical sources.
Sweden to ban mercury
The Local, 14th January 2009
"Mercury is to be banned in Sweden starting June 1st, environment minister Andreas Carlgren has announced.
The ban prohibits products containing the heavy metal from being brought to market in Sweden. "Mercury is now dead and buried," Carlgren said. The actual decision is set to be taken by the government when it meets on Thursday. In addition to a ban on products containing mercury, the prohibition also means the substance can no longer be used in manufacturing or dentistry."
Comment: Well Sweden won't have a problem in the future dealing with mercury contamination by compact fluorescent lights [CFLs] being imposed by environmental directives.
Another UFO spotted flying over Purley [UK]
This is Croydon, 14th January 2009
"A mysterious object spotted sailing across the sunny skies of Purley has left residents and a UFO expert scratching their heads. The blurry entity was snapped by John Barrett, 48, as he was walking across Higher Drive Recreation Ground at about 1.25pm last Friday. His wife Claire, 42, then sent the picture to the Advertiser - click on the link to the right to view a larger version. She said: "My husband was taking a walk and looked up at the trees covered in frost from the ice and snow lately, then spotted something moving steadily in the sky. "It basically kept moving and eventually disappeared in the distance and faded away."
Comment: Awesome! Now this certainly could pass for a jelly-fish! Whatever, it looks like another plasma entity off home! The question is: how far have we got throught this planetary refresh process, 1, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 75 or even 99%? Russian scientists told us that they had noticed an exodus of energy that flew off as orbs in 1997, but it seems there is a spectrum of other energies that are now leaving! This is becoming absolutely fantastic, we are witnessing the greatest transition in the history of mankind!
'Warped' teen convicted of shooting his parents in the head after they took away his X-Box game
Daily Mail, 14th January 2009
"A teenager convicted of killing his mother 'may have had his mind warped by playing a violent video game', a judge heard. 17-year-old Daniel Petric shot both his parents in the head with a shotgun after they took away his video game. He then fled the house in Lorain County, Ohio, U.S., clutching his copy of 'Halo 3', one of the flagship titled for the Microsoft Xbox 360 console. [...] Although the defence did not contest the facts around the shooting, Defense Attorney James Kersey argued the teenager was not guilty by reason of insanity, claiming the computer game had affected his sense of reality."
Comment: There seems to be an increasing number of similar stories and so one has to wonder how many more deaths before it becomes obvious that some are programming themselves to become killers.
Catholics ordered to keep quiet over Virgin visions
The Independent, 13th January 2009
Catholics who claim they have seen the Virgin Mary will be forced to remain silent about the apparitions until a team of psychologists, theologians, priests and exorcists have fully investigated their claims under new Vatican guidelines aimed at stamping out false claims of miracles. The Pope has instructed the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, formerly the Holy Office of the Inquisition, to draw up a new handbook to help bishops snuff out an explosion of bogus heavenly apparitions. [...]
According to Petrus, an Italian online magazine which leans towards conservative elements in the Vatican, anyone who claims to have seen an apparition will only be believed as long as they remain silent and do not court publicity over their claims. If they refuse to obey, this will be taken as a sign that their claims are false."
Comment: This reads like something out of Monty Python.... It does seem that efforts are being made by the Catholic Church hierarchy to "snuff out an explosion of bogus heavenly apparitions." The question is: why would it be an issue now and what does it matter? I think the answer is that cosmic/divine energies are becoming much much stronger on the planet and many more Catholics are having spiritual experiences that they will strongly link to their faith, but paradoxially this is a source of annoyance to the Catholic leadership, who traditionally believe that people need them to be the source of their spiritual nourishment. There's a scripture in the Bible, 'Times of refreshing will come from the Lord'. Well, those 'Christ' energies are back on the planet, so is it any wonder that the hierarchy of the reputed Harlot is worried?
Climate fix' ship sets sail with plan to dump iron
New Scientist News, 13th January 2009
"The largest and to date the most comprehensive experiment to soak up greenhouse-gas emissions by artificially fertilising the oceans set sail from South Africa earlier this week. The ambitious geoengineering expedition has caused a stir among some campaigning groups, but has the scientific backing of the UK, German, and Indian governments, as well as the International Maritime Organisation. Within weeks, the ship's crew hope to dump 20 tonnes of ferrous sulphate into the Southern Ocean. Plankton need iron to grow, and the aim of the expedition is to trigger a plankton bloom and boost the amount of carbon that is sucked out of the air and locked up at the bottom of the ocean. The team, led by Victor Smetacek of the Alfred Wegner Institute, Bremerhaven, Germany, will also monitor the population of krill to see if their populations also increase. These small crustaceans feed on plankton and are an important food source for many marine species. So, if the population grows, this could give fisheries a boost."
Comment: The 4th January report Green Algae Bloom Process Could Stop Global Warming tells us that the Earth already has a mechanism that will work to reduce CO2 naturally. What's more scientists and environmentalists have a very poor track record trying to modify ecosystems when we consider the implications of unintentional consequences.
Removing cats to protect birds backfires on island
AP, 13th January 2009
"BANGKOK, Thailand — It seemed like a good idea at the time: Remove all the feral cats from a famous Australian island to save the native seabirds.
But the decision to eradicate the felines from Macquarie island allowed the rabbit population to explode and, in turn, destroy much of its fragile vegetation that birds depend on for cover, researchers said Tuesday.
Removing the cats from Macquarie "caused environmental devastation" that will cost authorities 24 million Australian dollars ($16.2 million) to remedy, Dana Bergstrom of the Australian Antarctic Division and her colleagues wrote in the British Ecological Society's Journal of Applied Ecology. "Our study shows that between 2000 and 2007, there has been widespread ecosystem devastation and decades of conservation effort compromised," Bergstrom said in a statement. The unintended consequences of the cat-removal project show the dangers of meddling with an ecosystem — even with the best of intentions — without thinking long and hard, the study said. Comment: This is almost as bad as the environmentalists that stopped feeding deer meat to the Komodo dragons, so the dragons started eating humans instead....
The Sky Is Falling?
Environmental Protection, 13th January 2009
"Imagine it is 1979 -- nine years before NASA's James Hansen first stoked fears of human-caused global warming in testimony before a Senate committee chaired by then Sen. Al Gore. Few people in the mid- to late-970s were thinking about the terrors of global warming; science journals, major newspapers, and news magazines instead were focused on a 20-year cooling trend that some claimed was a possible harbinger of a coming ice age.
The 1979 discussion is now relevant because the Earth's current climate is more similar to that time period than any decade since – even though scientific "consensus" and computer models tell us otherwise. We hear that human activities are causing the Earth to warm, the ice caps to melt, and hurricanes to get more destructive. But everything the mainstream media has been telling us about global warming for more than 10 years now is turning out to be untrue."
Comment: Well, something is falling, but it's not the sky....
Tropical Thailand declares emergency as cold hits
Terra Daily, 13th January 2009
"A severe cold snap in Thailand prompted authorities Tuesday to declare an emergency zone across more than half of the country normally renowned for its tropical weather, climate officials said. Local media have reported up to five deaths as a result of exposure to unusually cold conditions but the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department said they were still verifying the reports."
Comment: No evidence of global warming to report.....
Met Office mystery over rare ice circle formed in Devon
Times Online, 13th January 2009
"An unusual rotating ice circle, normally found in the cooler rivers of Scandinavia or North America, has formed in the UK waterways.
The cause of the rare phenomenon is unclear, with very little scientific evidence available to explain the formation of the discs. UFO-enthusiasts claim that, like crop circles, the perfect discs are created by visiting aliens, but scientists believe the extreme cold weather combined with an unusual current is the more likely reason. The 10ft disc was seen by a rambler on the River Otter in Devon, who estimated that it was spinning through 360 degrees every four minutes. The Meteorological Office said today that they could not explain why the ice circle appeared last week."
Comment: The ice circle would be far more interesting if it had a message in bold like, "We are coming to get you!" LOL!!
More Than a Businessman's Suicide
Inter Press Service, 13th January 2009
"Berlin - The suicide of Adolf Merckle, a leading German businessman over the last 30 years, is being seen by many as an allegorical story of the end of a brand of reckless capitalism. Merckle, who would have been 75 in March, stepped in front of a speeding train near his house Jan. 5 after realising that his speculative transactions with German automaker Volkswagen (VW) shares had ruined his global economic empire. Merckle was once one of the richest men in Germany. His fortune was estimated at more than 9 billion dollars. [...] In an interview with the German daily Die Welt Dec. 10, Merckle dismissed his economic troubles as "merely a liquidity crisis." He also said that the banks "in this (global financial) crisis, are plagued with doubts, and behave in a manner different from before."
Comment: I think the statement highlighted above reveals why even previously successful billionares are struggling. It seems they can no longer interpret information or the associated energy to make winning bets. The article is very interesting in that it is highlighting a fundamental death in a style of capitalism referred to here as 'quick multiplication'. Whatever, economists now tell us we are seeing chaos driving fundamental change within the financial markets.
The earth's magnetic field impacts climate: Danish study
Space Daily, 12th January 2009
"The earth's climate has been significantly affected by the planet's magnetic field, according to a Danish study published Monday that could challenge the notion that human emissions are responsible for global warming. "Our results show a strong correlation between the strength of the earth's magnetic field and the amount of precipitation in the tropics," [...] The results of the study, which has also been published in US scientific journal Geology, lend support to a controversial theory published a decade ago by Danish astrophysicist Henrik Svensmark, who claimed the climate was highly influenced by galactic cosmic ray (GCR) particles penetrating the earth's atmosphere. Svensmark's theory, which pitted him against today's mainstream theorists who claim carbon dioxide (CO2) is responsible for global warming, involved a link between the earth's magnetic field and climate, since that field helps regulate the number of GCR particles that reach the earth's atmosphere. "The only way we can explain the (geomagnetic-climate) connection is through the exact same physical mechanisms that were present in Henrik Svensmark's theory," Knudsen said. "If changes in the magnetic field, which occur independently of the earth's climate, can be linked to changes in precipitation, then it can only be explained through the magnetic field's blocking of the cosmetic rays," he said." Comment: One can assume that the results of this study will be a source of contention by scientists who dispute the role of cosmic influences on climate and weather.
UFOs in UK, US called 'octopus, jellyfish, amoeba, cocoon, biological'
Joint Recon Study Group, 11th January 2009
"Citizens in the UK and United States have reported similar large, glowing objects in the sky that have been described as looking like an "octopus," "jellyfish," "amoeba," "cocoon" and having "a biological shape." The most recent case involves an investigation into damage to a wind turbine near Conisholme, England."
Comment: We are seeing an exodus of light beings whose time is up! Some energies have left quickly of their own accord in a process that can be compared to a 'changing of the guard' other 'old' energies have been corrupted and cannot comply without some assistance and so we have seen some clear rescue and retrieval operations taking place. However, I think there are some energies that will not leave without a fight and so we can only watch to see how 'explosive' the battle of energies gets.... Is it any wonder that planet Earth has attracted a vast crowd of onlookers, it seems that we are hosting the best show in the galaxy!! LOL!! Update 13th January Pink jelly-fish in Wimbedon?2nd Comment: This report refers to an eyewitness account by some who identifies themselves as 'jonobb'. The original version is as follows: "Until this morning I was skeptical about UFO sightings. I looked out my flat window (in wimbledon) this morning over towards Merton way and to my surprise notice a large bright pink jelly-fish looking object surrounded by a pink haze. it appeared to be hovering over or above the pylons in the distance." His feedback post continued: "It hovered for about 5 minutes while I frantically searched for my camera still not quite understanding what it could possibly be? I finally found my camera and took a couple of pics, unfortunately it had moved further away and was a lot smaller than when i first noticed it. within 15 seconds it shot from site. Id love to post the picture but dont see an option here for attachments. did anyone else in wimbledon see it at approx. 0805hrs thurs 9 jan 2009? any explanations?" Source: here. This is going to start really upsetting some folks if they have to dodge the plasma entities on their way to their next dinner party! LOL!! Seriously, I am starting to wonder, what next?
UFO in UK resembles Texas, Ohio sightings
Joint Recon Study Group, 10th January 2009
"Similar descriptions of a glowing, orange object in the sky have been reported this year in Texas, Ohio and now in England. A county law enforcement constable in Stephenville, Texas, who watched a UFO recorded on another officer's "dashcam" police videotape camera in January 2008 said, "And then this thing, right in front of my eyes, changes and it looks almost like a jellyfish. I compare it maybe even to a parachute - and now a very bright white." In November 2008, an Ohio woman says she saw a "very large, orange-yellow-white-colored orb" just over the tree line near her house. She said it reminded her of an amoeba under a microscope that changed shape and moved. Near the Ohio River in eastern Ohio in October, witnesses say they saw an orange glowing object at a low altitude. One man said it had "a biological shape." "It didn't look like anything mechanical by any means." He said his impression was "that it was organic. That's the feeling that I got. I didn't think it could be anything else. It just came across as something organic." And now, witnesses near Conisholme, England, have used the term "octopus" and "tentacles" to describe something they saw in the sky Jan. 4, 2009, that may have had something to do with damage to a wind turbine. "
Comment: I don't think anyone can now argue that we are seeing numerous reports of orbs and plasma entities, certainly 2012 'experts' have failed to anticipate or predict this phenomena, and at the moment I find myself alone in being able to explain this in terms of evolutionary change....
Crop Circles and Government with Colin Andrews
Colin Andrews, 9th January 2009
"2008 was the year that the British Government released what they 'claim' to be all their secret UFO documents, including one referring to me. Some of the released documents relate to a period in the 1980s when I was putting pressure for government openness about the crop circles and the UFO during a lot of International television and radio interviews. I asked what the governments involvement was and if they were actively involved in investigations? I stated that their aircraft had been seen over the circles. I released video of British Ministry of Defence Helicopters hovering over a strange 'orb'(corrected here from 'org') near a large crop circle. After the Government publicly denied any interest or involvement, I showed some of the media the police and Ministry of Defence's own photographs which I had in his possession, but not all of my documented evidence - which you will see here for the first time.[...] It would appear that because Pat Delgado and I ignored personal warnings from B.U.F.O.R.A. not to mention UFOs in
our media interviews, we became feared it seemed. Pat and I found it most strange that a UFO organization was not just regularly cynical about UFO reports associated with the circles but seemed to be actively trying to play them down in public. It was as if the UFO organization had 'Government plants' within the ranks at the national level? Incidentally the same warning was made to me about UFOs by an employee working at the Pentagon, when I was visiting the United States in the early 1990s. This behavior leads me to wonder why there is such concern of us voicing a connection with the UFOs? There is no question in my mind that the Orbs, or UFOs seen and filmed by us over the years in the close vicinity of the crop circles, is as much a concern and mystery to 'the' Government. [...] The lessons we should have learned is that blind loyalty and trust in Government, much like the financial institutions, big business and even many religions has not served us well. Our apathy in not challenging these institutions has allowed the truth of our age to be denied us and has resulted in a great deal of wasted precious time and effort. In many cases they have failed the people they claim to protect and serve and also the people failed themselves. Deception and spin has come to be expected from them all and so why should we wonder how our public servants would lie to us so gleefully about the crop circles as well as to our senior representative - The Prime Minster. It does not get much more concerning than that." Comment: It's fairly obvious that the 'orb' phenomena is a major threat to the existing paradigm, but as the background aetheric density morphs (veil thining) it is becoming impossible to hide the fact that we share our reality with other sentient beings, of which some have been busy trying to get our attention and warn us of what's to come.
The new NASA solar goalpost: Cycle 24, maybe not so big
wattsupwiththat.com, 8th January 2009
"A few days ago I wrote in State of the Sun for year end 2008: all's quiet on the solar front - too quiet that "No new cycle 24 predictions have been issued by any solar group (that I am aware of ) in the last couple of months." Coincidentally and shortly after that, NASA's David Hathaway updated his solar prediction page here. He's made a significant backtrack over previous predictions, and now for the first time he is claiming cycle 24 will be less than cycle 23, not greater."
Comment: Well, there seems to be some confusion at NASA. Maybe David Hathaway, was not aware of the impending report about the massive breach in the Earth's magnetic field, the weakened ionosphere and the report of the impact of severe Space Weather on our modern day technology based society. Sunspot numbers are only a general indicator of solar activity, because its what comes out of them in terms of solar flares and coronal mass ejections (CMEs) that is important.
Mystery Roar from Faraway Space Detected
World of Mysteries, 8th January 2009
"Space is typically thought of as a very quiet place. But one team of astronomers has found a strange cosmic noise that booms six times louder than expected. The roar is from the distant cosmos. Nobody knows what causes it. Of course, sound waves can't travel in a vacuum (which is what most of space is), or at least they can't very efficiently. But radio waves can.
Radio waves are not sound waves, but they are still electromagnetic waves, situated on the low-frequency end of the light spectrum. Many objects in the universe, including stars and quasars, emit radio waves. Even our home galaxy, the Milky Way, emits a static hiss (first detected in 1931 by physicist Karl Jansky). Other galaxies also send out a background radio hiss. But the newly detected signal, described here today at the 213th meeting of the American Astronomical Society, is far louder than astronomers expected. There is "something new and interesting going on in the universe," said Alan Kogut of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md."
Comment: Hmmm.... are we about to find out soon, as massive blasts of galactic cosmic energy hit our planet?
"Renegade" Stars Tearing Across Universe, Hubble Shows
National Geographic, 8th January 2009
"Ripples in cosmic gas that resemble speedboat wakes have revealed a new population of young, renegade stars barreling through the universe at more than 112,000 miles (180,250 kilometers) an hour. The stars appear to be just a few million years old and a few times larger than the sun.
As they careen through the cosmos, the stars' winds slam against nearby gas, creating enormous bow shocks billions or even a trillion miles wide. So far astronomers have found 14 of these rogue stars using images from the Hubble Space Telescope. But study leader Raghvendra Sahai, of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California, thinks the stellar interlopers will turn out to be common in the universe. [...] Sahai and colleages discovered the odd stars a little more than a year ago while peering at what they thought was a subclass of dying stars near the Milky Way's galactic plane.
The galactic plane is the region of our galaxy that extends along an imaginary line from Earth's Equator. Sahai's team found objects that shared some of the same characteristics of the dying stars they sought, but closer inspection revealed 14 of the 38 suspect objects as stellar renegades instead. "We accidentally stumbled across a new class of objects," Sahai said.
Comment: Our universe is certainly not a quiet place where not much happens.... Note the location along the galactic plane, where our astronomers are spending a lot of time and effort watching for any sign of a galactic core explosion. Despite the title of this article, the astronomer describes these as 'objects' not stars..... See also Runaway Stars Go Ballistic
Did a UFO really wreck this wind turbine? Or was it lightning, mechanical failure, or even fireworks?
Daily Mail, 8th January 2009
"It started with reports of strange lights in the sky and sightings of unidentified flying objects. Then, say some, came an ear-splitting bang at 4am. The next morning one of the 60ft blades from a 200ft high wind turbine was found ripped off. Another had been left twisted and useless. So far, the cause of the spooky goings-on at a wind farm in Conishiolme, north east Lincolnshire, remain unexplained. And inevitably, excitement is growing among UFO experts who believe that a flying saucer crashed into the turbine and that this incident could, at last, provide the evidence of other life forms they have been waiting for all their lives. One eyewitness John Harrison, of nearby Saltfleetby, said he had seen a 'massive ball of light' with 'tentacles going right down to the ground' over the wind farm. 'It was an incredible sight, I have never seen anything like it before. I have no idea what it was,' he said. Dorothy Willows, who lives half a mile from the scene, said she saw orangey-yellow spheres skimming across the sky.
Comment: Truly incredible! I can imagine UFO watchers are hyperventilating over this incident. Regardless of what caused the damage to the wind turbine, an eye-witness has given us details of what seems to be massive ball-lightning or even a sprite. Could this be another example of old energy be forced out the Earth, as part of the planetary refresh process?
NASA Warns of 'Space Katrina' Radiation Storm
The Register, 7th January 2009
"A study funded by NASA has flagged up yet another terrible hazard for those no longer able to get excited about nuclear war, global pandemics, terrorism, climate change, economic meltdown and asteroid strike. Top space brainboxes say that even if the human race survives all those, there is a serious risk of civilisation being brought crashing to its knees by a sudden high-intensity solar radiation storm."
Comment: For the metaphysical folk, it must be now much easier to understand why there was such a fuss in the effort around 07-07-07 – 17-07-07, the period of Al Gore's "Live Earth", Tom Kenyon's Hathor inspired "Planetary Creatrix" and Shelley Yate's "Fire The Grid". According to The Hathor's, the Earth's grid or powerlines were reset to a higher "bandwidth" so that when the planet was hit with massive blasts of energy, it could cope with the higher volume of energy. We were told that this was the last opportunity to do this work. At the time, I watched with great interest and was amazed to see the NOAA data showing the Earth bathed in X-rays for about a week! The Hathors have stated that what happens now is mostly up to geophysics, which made me conclude that we have just not done enough to stop some major catastrophes. Now folks, the problem is the that our technological infrastructure is not designed to cope with billions of tons of highly charged sub-atomic plasma. At the same time, our spiritual leaders have generally failed to explain that we have changed our destiny since 1987 and the world is facing a spiritual revolution. The most important thing is to spiritually evolve and strengthen your energy field which will allow you to cope and thrive in the new "terms and conditions" that are now being imposed on our planet. Those with high consciousness, are already downloading the new light codes and updating their DNA and acting as beacons, broadcasting the new morphogenetic templates for humanity. Hence all the talk of critical mass, but I prefer to talk about the 100th monkey syndrome. I also think that there will be an evolutionary split as some cope and others deteriate, the proverbial sorting out of the wheat from the chaff. There can be no other conclusion as our science supports this metaphysical synopsis.
Billionaire kills himself over financial crisis
Family of Germany's Adolf Merckle says the financial meltdown 'broke' him
MSNBC, 6th January 2009
"BERLIN - German billionaire Adolf Merckle committed suicide after his business empire ran into trouble in the financial crisis, throwing himself in front of a train near his home, authorities and his family said Tuesday."
Comment: I suppose this billionaire had all his self-esteem wrapped up in his empire and when that collapsed, he collapsed too.
We should be worried about 2012
Herald Mail, 6th January 2009
"If you're nervous about our prospects going into 2009, don't be; we still have three years left. It's in 2012 that all terror is going to break loose, according to some cryptic drawings by legendary seer Nostradamus that were interpreted, liberally, Sunday night on The History Channel. Nostradamus was a French apothecary who lived in the 1500s and wrote "Les Propheties," a series of mysterious verses that are said to have foreseen many modern events. Near as I can tell, Nostradamus is tonic for people who would normally be predisposed to UFO chasing, but do not like to go outside. His overriding message was that "bad things will happen in the future," and since bad things have indeed come to pass — well, that makes his reputation pretty much airtight.
Comment: Here, we have a dose of sarcasm from someone who has no idea what 2012 is about. The timing is quite ironic as NASA goes into overdrive to inform the world about the impact of severe Space Weather.
"Global Cooling is really Global Warming"
SPPI, 6th January 2009
"The scare: On 2 January 2009, the Wall Street Journal wrote one of a series of articles apparently co-ordinated throughout the generally alarmist news media throughout the holiday season, trying to overcome the problem posed for "global warming" alarmists by the fact that global mean surface temperatures have been on a downtrend for eight straight years (Figure 1).
In the article, entitled The Warming Earth Blows Hot, Cold and Chaotic, the Wall Street Journal starts out by admitting that "three independent research groups" had concluded that 2008 was a comparatively cool year. Even so, the article said, the year's global temperature was the 9th or 10th warmest since reliable record-keeping began in 1850, though it was the coldest since the turn of the 21st century. The article, having mentioned last year’s cooling through gritted teeth, but somehow not having mentioned that there has been a downtrend in temperatures not for one year but for eight straight years, then lists a series of bugaboos nearly all of which depend on the weather having warmed over the past decade when in fact it has cooled." Comment: The global warmers are being strangled by their own climate models! See, Camille Paglia on "fancy-pants, speculative, climate models" LOL!!
Surprising Return of North Atlantic Circulation Pump
Media Newswire, 6th January 2009
One of the "pumps" contributing to the ocean's global circulation suddenly switched on again last winter for the first time this decade, scientists reported Tuesday ( Dec. 23 ) in Nature Geoscience. The finding surprised scientists, who had been wondering if global warming was inhibiting the pump—which, in turn, would cause other far-reaching climate changes.
The "pump" in question is the sinking of cold, dense water in the North Atlantic Ocean in the winter. It drives water down into the lower limb of what is often described as the Great Ocean Conveyor. To replace that down-flowing water, warm surface waters from the tropics are pulled northward along the Conveyor's upper limb. The phenomenon helps draw down the man-made buildup of carbon dioxide from air to surface waters and eventually into the depths, where the greenhouse gas can be stored for centuries and offset global warming. It also transports warm tropical waters northward, where the ocean transfers heat to the air and keeps winter climate in the North Atlantic region much warmer than it would be otherwise.
Comment: Oh well, this can now be taken off the list of scary climate disaster scenarios.
Amazing solar-powered fridge invented by British student helps poverty-stricken Africans
Daily Mail, 6th January 2009
"It's the kind of brilliant yet simple invention that would have the tycoons of the Dragon's Den salivating with excitement. An eco-friendly fridge, powered by the sun rather than electricity, that can be made out of ordinary household materials for a potentially huge Third World market."
Comment: Now that the authorities are taking the threat of extreme Space Weather seriously, sometime in the future, if national power grids are taken down by a geomagnetic storm, it may not be just poverty-stricken Africans that may be in need of solar-powered fridges....
UFO sighting sparks worldwide interest
Birmingham Mail.net News, 6th January 2009
"A MIDLAND UFO sighting has sparked worldwide speculation about the existence of aliens after an amateur pilot spotted six pairs of mysterious lights on Christmas Eve. Dad-of-two, Andrew Freke, an amateur pilot for more than 15 years, spotted the bright orange lights flying above his Solihull home while he was smoking a cigarette at about 11pm on Christmas Eve. [...] Alexandra Schädlich, from Reichenbach, Saxonia, Germany, said: "My family and I saw the same thing. We saw it at 10pm, 12.30am and 2pm in Saxonia.
"At 12.30am we counted eight balls on the night sky. They changed direction and one also waited for the others on the sky." American UFO spotter, Brent Hoff, added: "My girlfriend and I had a very similar, but substantially longer and closer experience several years ago in San Francisco. "I'd be interested in talking to Mr Freke about it." But the main sightings all seem to be clustered in the Midlands. Michael Trigg, aged 23, from Sutton Coldfield, spotted a bright orange light zig zag in the sky for a minute shortly after New Year's Eve fireworks and two readers reported four orange lights and a bizarre rotating circular object hovering over their Shirley homes at 9pm on Christmas Day. Alan Clarke, from Nuneaton, also spotted a series of orange globes flying over his local shops at 5pm on January 2 and the Civil Aviation Authority are now investigating.
A spokesman for the Ministry of Defence said: "The MOD examines reports solely to establish whether UK airspace may have been compromised by hostile or unauthorised military activity. "Unless there is evidence of a potential threat, there is no attempt to identify the nature of each sighting or report."
Comment: Lots of UFO sightings over the holiday period, as our aetheric friends are too busy to cease all activities! Again we have reports of balls of light zig-zagging in the sky with a "bizarre rotating circular object hovering". At the moment, I have come to the conclusion that the orbs are conducting a search for "old energy" and when the energy is found it is being removed by utilising cosmic string (magnetic vortex). Note the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) have zero interest, aetheric entities are NO THREAT.
Britain's strongest girl: The 14-year-old who can lift three times her own body weight
Daily Mail, 5th January 2009
"Think of a weightlifter and the image that comes to mind is of a musclebound hulk with thighs like treetrunks. Think again. Petite 14-year-old Zoe Smith has staked her claim to be the strongest girl in Britain after lifting almost two-thirds more than her bodyweight. The 5ft 2in schoolgirl, who weighs 9 stone, managed to hoist aloft an astonishing 95kg, or 15 stone, in one 'clean and jerk' event. [...] A former gymnast, Zoe started weightlifting at the age of 12 when she was asked to make up the numbers in a team. She said: 'From my first session, my coach Andy Callard said he could tell I had the natural talent and strength to do well.' He was right. Zoe set an amazing 98 British records in 2008."
Comment: Is Zoe Smith a one-off or an early demonstrator of our new evolutionary abilities?.
NASA-Funded Study Reveals Hazards of Severe Space Weather
Spaceref.com, 5th January 2009
"WASHINGTON -- A NASA-funded study describes how extreme solar eruptions could have severe consequences for communications, power grids and other technology on Earth. [...] NASA requested the study to assess the potential damage from significant space weather during the next 20 years. National and international experts from industry, government and academia participated in the study. The report documents the possibility of a space weather event that has societal effects and causes damage similar to natural disasters on Earth. "From a public policy perspective, it is quite significant that we have begun the extremely challenging task of assessing space weather impacts in a quantitative way," said Daniel Baker, professor and director of the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics at the University of Colorado in Boulder. Baker chaired the panel that prepared the report. "Whether it is terrestrial catastrophes or extreme space weather incidents, the results can be devastating to modern societies that depend in a myriad of ways on advanced technological systems," said Baker. "We were delighted that NASA helped support bringing together dozens of world experts from industry and government to share their experiences and begin planning of improved public policy strategies. [...] The sun is currently near the minimum of its 11-year activity cycle. It is expected that solar storms will increase in frequency and intensity toward the next solar maximum, expected to occur around 2012. The Heliophysics Division of NASA's Science Mission Directorate in Washington provided funding for the study. The division seeks to understand the sun, its solar processes and the interaction of solar plasma and radiation with Earth, other planets and the universe. Understanding the connections between the sun and its planets will allow better prediction on the impacts of solar activity on humans, technological systems and even the presence of life itself in the universe."
Comment: Watch Out! Severe Space Weather on the way! Scientists finally admit there will be an impact on humans! Well, this report suggests space scientists believe we could experience "severe" space weather with a "devastating" impact on modern societies. This report even states there is an impact on humans which NASA et al. are now finally prepared to admit. The predictions for the Sun by NASA solar scientists Dipakti et al. was a late start with 50% increase in solar activity from the previous Solar Cycle 23. Well, we have a very late start to Solar Cycle 24 and so the Sun could now be gearing up for some extreme activity. The documentary-drama Solar Storm: Perfect Disaster, will explain what these scientists fear could happen, yet if you want to know 'The Big Picture', then you can get that from reading Tuning the Diamonds: Electromagnetism & Spiritual Evolution. So with all these recent annoucements, it seems that space scientists must now be in an extreme state of anticipation as we face unchartered waters and we align with the center of our galaxy, at the same time our solar system's protective shield is quickly fading away.... Vicar arrested after row with neighbour over height of hedge
Daily Mail, 5th January 2009
"A vicar was arrested on suspicion of assault after rowing with his neighbour over the height of a hedge, it emerged today. Both Rev Stuart Bennett and Brian Stokoe were arrested and questioned by police following an alleged brawl outside the vicarage. Mr Stokoe, 57, began complaining two years ago when Rev Bennett, 47, moved in that the high beech hedge dividing their properties was blocking his light."
Comment: Hmmmm..... I suppose it does not matter who threw the first punch, everyone expects the vicar to turn the other cheek, but in these new geomagnetic conditions and unresolved emotions running high, people are more likely to lose control and act out with extreme abberant behaviour.
Climate scientists: it's time for 'Plan B'
The Independent, 4th January 2009
"Poll of international experts by The Independent reveals consensus that CO2 cuts have failed – and their growing support for technological intervention
An emergency "Plan B" using the latest technology is needed to save the world from dangerous climate change, according to a poll of leading scientists carried out by The Independent. The collective international failure to curb the growing emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the atmosphere has meant that an alternative to merely curbing emissions may become necessary. The plan would involve highly controversial proposals to lower global temperatures artificially through daringly ambitious schemes that either reduce sunlight levels by man-made means or take CO2 out of the air. This "geoengineering" approach – including schemes such as fertilising the oceans with iron to stimulate algal blooms – would have been dismissed as a distraction a few years ago but is now being seen by the majority of scientists we surveyed as a viable emergency backup plan that could save the planet from the worst effects of climate change, at least until deep cuts are made in CO2 emissions."
Comment: See also What can we do to save our planet? . Well, despite the lack of increasing global temperatures, according to NASA, the Earth is losing it's shielding to Space Weather and galactic cosmic radiation is flooding the planet. Therefore, I suspect that certain quarters are now desperate to prevent the inevitable evolutionary change and the massive repercussions that will dissolve much of the existing paradigm.
Solar Geomagnetic Ap Index now at lowest point in its record
wattsupwiththat.com, 4th January 2009
"As many regular readers know, I've pointed out several times the incident of the abrupt and sustained lowering of the Ap Index which occurred in October 2005. [...] The solar average geomagnetic planetary index, Ap is at its lowest level in 75 years, for the entirety of the record."
Comment: The graph of the Ap Index, going back to when records began in 1932 just emphasises why solar scientists have been forced to use astrology, ancient text and the Mayan calendar to predict the behaviour of our Sun with megacycles that might exist over hundreds if not thousands of years. See also 2008 Ends Spotless and with 266 Spotless Days, the #2 Least Active Year Since 1900, Portends Cooling .
Green Algae Bloom Process Could Stop Global Warming
CleanTechnica, 4th January 2009
"A team of UK scientists have discovered a natural process that could delay, or even end, the threat of global warming. The researchers, aboard the Royal Navy's HMS Endurance, have found that melting icebergs off the coast of Antarctica are releasing millions of tiny particles of iron into the southern Ocean, helping to create huge 'blooms' of algae that absorb carbon emissions. The algae then sinks to the icy depths, effectively removing CO2 from the atmosphere for hundreds of years. According to lead researcher, Prof. Rob Raiswell of Leeds University, "The Earth itself seems to want to save us.""
Comment: It obvious that the Earth is quite capable of balancing it's own ecosystems, which it has done for billions of years. The problem is those humans who are desperate to prevent evolutionary change, as new terms and conditions for living on this planet force humans to do business differently.
The 'first true scientist'
BBC News, 4th January 2009
"For, without doubt, another great physicist, who is worthy of ranking up alongside Newton, is a scientist born in AD 965 in what is now Iraq who went by the name of al-Hassan Ibn al-Haytham. Most people in the West will never have even heard of him. [...] Popular accounts of the history of science typically suggest that no major scientific advances took place in between the ancient Greeks and the European Renaissance. But just because Western Europe languished in the Dark Ages, does not mean there was stagnation elsewhere. Indeed, the period between the 9th and 13th Centuries marked the Golden Age of Arabic science.
Comment: Well, I often comment about scientists with radical new ideas often taking decades to be acknowledged for their contribution to advancing scientific understanding, but a thousand years.... note his house arrest, I agree it would have given him some time to think without any outside interference....
Cancer cells 'can outwit chemotherapy'
Some cancers can "recover" from doses of chemotherapy that would destroy other types of cell, according to a new study.
The Telegraph, 4th January 2009
"The diseased cells have a Houdini-like "escape tactic" which can outwit even potent drugs, researchers found. The study could explain why some cancers recur after treatment. Scientists had previously believed that no cells could live after the therapy triggered a process called apoptosis, or cell suicide. However, laboratory tests have shown that some breast, skin, liver and cervical cells can survive even after that stage. Researchers found that the cell suicide process had to reach a crucial, advanced point before it was sure that all cancer cells would die.
Comment: According to Dr.Valerie Hunt who has spent over 4 decades studying the human energy field, it does not matter whether it seems that all the cancer cells have been irradicated and a patient has been diagnosed as being in remission, because the cancer will recur unless there as been a fundamental change in the controlling morphogenetic EM field. The real healing has to take place at a higher level of consciousness.
State of the Sun for year end 2008: all's quiet on the solar front - too quiet
wattsupwiththat.com, 3rd January 2009
"The NOAA Space Weather Prediction center updated their plots of solar indices earlier today, on January 3rd. With the exception of a slight increase in the 107 centimeter radio flux, there appears to be even less signs of solar activity. Sunspots are still not following either of the two predictive curves, and it appears that the solar dynamo continues to slumber, perhaps even winding down further. Of particular note, the last graph below (click the read more link to see it) showing the Average Planetary Index (Ap) is troubling. I thought there would be an uptick by now, due to expectations of some sign of cycle 24 starting up, but instead it continues to drop. Meanwhile, the Oulu Neutron Monitor shows a significant up trend, reaching levels not seen in over 30 years. According to an email I received from Dr. David Archibald, GCR [GALACTIC COSMIC RAY]flux has indeed increased: [...] Looking at the SWPC graph below, it appears that we are in uncharted territory now, since the both the high and low cycle 24 predictions (in red) appear to be falsified for the current time frame. No new cycle 24 predictions have been issued by any solar group (that I am aware of ) in the last couple of months. The last time NASA made a change was in October 08. The question now seems to be, are we seeing the beginning of a cycle skip, or a grand minima? Or is this just an extraordinary delay for cycle 24 ?"
Comment: I think all the Sun watchers must be holding there breath.... this is most certainly unchartered waters. Note the GCR flux being up.....just as you would expect from a quiet Sun.
Where Thermometers Go To Die - How not to measure temperature, part 80
wattsupwiththat.com, 2nd January 2009
"In my 30 years in meteorology, I never questioned how NOAA climate monitoring stations were setup. It wasn't until I stumbled on the Marysville California fire station and its thermometer that that I began to notice just how badly sited these stations are. When I started looking further, I never expected to find USHCN climate monitoring stations placed at sewage treatment plants, next to burn barrels, or in parking lots of University Atmospheric Science Departments, or next to air conditioning heat exchangers. These were all huge surprises. I didn't think I'd be surprised anymore. I thought I'd seen the weirdest of the weird, and that I would not be surprised again with bad station placement examples. Then I saw this station, submitted from Fort Scott, Kansas: No, your eyes do not deceive you. That is an official NOAA USHCN climate monitoring station at a funeral home in downtown Fort Scott, KS. From a wider perspective, you can see all the things around it. Not only do we have a fountain (extra humidity), a nearby brick wall for heat retention at night, a large concrete driveway that curves around the station, a tree for shade in the late afternoon, a big brick building with a south facing brick wall, but we also have cobblestone streets and convenient nearby parking. The station is near the center of the city. This location has everything needed, except a BBQ."
Comment: Another classic in the series! Note the comment by James the Less (08:21:36); "Actually, there is a BBQ…they do cremations." LOL!! See previous comments and entries for a better perspective on why exposing this terrible scientific data collection has been necessary to blow the myth of rising global surface temperatures.
How the City Hurts Your Brain ...And what you can do about it
Boston Globe, 2nd January 2009
"Now scientists have begun to examine how the city affects the brain, and the results are chastening. Just being in an urban environment, they have found, impairs our basic mental processes. After spending a few minutes on a crowded city street, the brain is less able to hold things in memory, and suffers from reduced self-control. [...] One of the main forces at work is a stark lack of nature, which is surprisingly beneficial for the brain. Studies have demonstrated, for instance, that hospital patients recover more quickly when they can see trees from their windows, and that women living in public housing are better able to focus when their apartment overlooks a grassy courtyard. Even these fleeting glimpses of nature improve brain performance, it seems, because they provide a mental break from the urban roil. [...] When a park is properly designed, it can improve the function of the brain within minutes. As the Berman study demonstrates, just looking at a natural scene can lead to higher scores on tests of attention and memory. While people have searched high and low for ways to improve cognitive performance, from doping themselves with Red Bull to redesigning the layout of offices, it appears that few of these treatments are as effective as simply taking a walk in a natural place."
Comment: This research is confirmation of our human need to be connected with nature and the Earth.
We can't stop the train because our GPS is broken
Daily Express, 2nd January 2009
"Over the years railway passengers have become used to the wrong sort of snow and leaves on the line bringing chaos to their journeys. But the rail industry has now come up with a new blight: The wrong sort of satellite connection. Passengers on a Southern service from East Croydon were stunned when they were told that their stopping train would skip six stations and go direct to the end of the line in Caterham, Surrey. When they got there the driver said the reason was that the train had lost its satellite link.
Because some stations have shorter platforms than others it meant that he could not open the right doors at every station on the route. The loss of the satellite link meant that passengers who had wanted stations in between had to wait half an hour for another train. One passenger said: "It's absolutely bizarre. We now have trains that can't let the passengers out because they fail to pick up signals from outer space."
Comment: Another reminder of our dependence on satellite technology. It would have been interesting to know what caused the satellite failure and why a backup system was not immediately employed.
Sea Ice Ends Year at Same Level as 1979
Daily Tech, 1st January 2009
"Rapid growth spurt leaves amount of ice at levels seen 29 years ago.
Thanks to a rapid rebound in recent months, global sea ice levels now equal those seen 29 years ago, when the year 1979 also drew to a close. Ice levels had been tracking lower throughout much of 2008, but rapidly recovered in the last quarter. In fact, the rate of increase from September onward is the fastest rate of change on record, either upwards or downwards. [...] Sea ice is floating and, unlike the massive ice sheets anchored to bedrock in Greenland and Antarctica, doesn't affect ocean levels. However, due to its transient nature, sea ice responds much faster to changes in temperature or precipitation and is therefore a useful barometer of changing conditions. Earlier this year, predictions were rife that the North Pole could melt entirely in 2008. Instead, the Arctic ice saw a substantial recovery. Bill Chapman, a researcher with the UIUC's Arctic Center, tells DailyTech this was due in part to colder temperatures in the region. Chapman says wind patterns have also been weaker this year. Strong winds can slow ice formation as well as forcing ice into warmer waters where it will melt.
Why were predictions so wrong? Researchers had expected the newer sea ice, which is thinner, to be less resilient and melt easier. Instead, the thinner ice had less snow cover to insulate it from the bitterly cold air, and therefore grew much faster than expected, according to the National Snow and Ice Data Center.

Mystery
Pillars
SpaceWeather.com, 2nd January 2009
Copy 2nd Jan: ""The air was very cold and filled with small ice crystals on
Dec. 28th when we saw these strange pillars of light," reports
Aigar Truhin of Sigulda, Latvia. "My son exclaimed, The
aliens are coming!" It certainly looked that
way." Truhin snapped this picture using his Nikon D90: Photo details: Nikon D90, 5 sec. exposure @ ISO 200-640 [here]
Many people have seen light pillars. They appear during winter
when city lights shine upward into the icy air. Reflections from
plate-shaped crystals spread the light into a vertical column:
examples.Truhin's pillars, however, are not the ordinary kind. Even two leading experts in atmospheric optics can't quite figure them
out: "These pillars are mysterious," say Les Cowley and Marko Riikonen. "They have unexplained curved tops and even curved arcs coming from their base. Arcs in rare displays like these could be from column crystals to give parts of tangent arcs, others could be the enigmatic Moilanan arc or even the recently discovered reflected Parry arc. We do not know – so take more photos on cold nights!"

Diamonds Linked to Quick Cooling Eons Ago
New York Times, 1st January December 2009
"At least once in Earth's history, global warming ended quickly, and scientists have long wondered why. Scientists found microscopic diamonds in the black layer of rock at Murray Springs in Arizona. Now researchers are reporting that the abrupt cooling — which took place about 12,900 years ago, just as the planet was emerging from an ice age — may have been caused by one or more meteors that slammed into North America. That could explain the extinction of mammoths, saber-tooth tigers and maybe even the first human inhabitants of the Americas, the scientists report in Friday's issue of the journal Science. The hypothesis has been regarded skeptically, but its advocates now report perhaps more convincing residue of impact: a thin layer of microscopic diamonds found in rocks across America and in Europe. [...] At each site the scientists looked at, the diamond layer in the rocks correlates to the date of the hypothesized impact. Within the layer, the scientists report finding a multitude of diamond particles, all encased within carbon spheres. "We've yet to find a single diamond above it," Dr. West said. "We've yet to find a single diamond below it." Perhaps more telling, the scientists reported last month at a meeting of the American Geophysical Union in San Francisco, the carbon atoms inside some of the diamonds are lined up in a hexagonal crystal pattern instead of the usual cubic structure. The hexagonal diamonds, formed by extraordinary heat and pressure, have been found only at impact craters and within meteorites and cannot be formed in forest fires or volcanic eruptions, Dr. West said.
Last year the scientists presented other evidence of an impact, including elevated levels of the element iridium. At least some skeptics are not convinced. "The whole thing still does not make sense, and there are lots of contradictions," said Christian Koeberl, a professor of geological sciences at the University of Vienna in Austria. His chief reservation is that there is no crater. "A body of this size does not just blow up without a trace in the atmosphere," Dr. Koeberl said. "Physics won't have it".
Comment: Astrophysicist Paul LaViolette has a very nice, long and detailed response to geologists and astrophysicists about this event, which he believes was a result of Space Weather. As we see here, the scientists are speculating, but a blast of Space Weather is a much better fit for all the evidence. There are many articles on this new theory, which scientists aim to take to the mainstream.
