A satellite malfunction left thousands of people across parts of rural northern Canada without communications services and grounded dozens of flights Thursday (Oct. 6), according to Canadian press reports.

Officials with the Ottawa-based satellite operator Telesat Canada said the malfunction began at 6:36 a.m. EDT (1036 GMT), when its Anik F2 communications satellite suffered a "technical anomaly." The glitch affected satellite-served communities in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut territory, according to Canadian communications provider Northwestel.

Comment: Well, the Earth's magnetosphere was breached and so filled up with particles (image left) but not enough to push the boundary between Earth's magnetic field (magnetospause) and outer space to geosynchronous orbit (image right), which then becomes a major problem with satellites being exposed to galactic cosmic rays. Whatever, conditions in space were hostile enough to cause a software glitch with the Anik F2 satellite.

Ottawa firm hopes to restore service late Thursday

Thousands of Canadians are without telephone, cable and Internet service following a malfunction on a Telesat-owned-and-operated satellite.

A problem on Anik F2 knocked out northern long-distance telephone and Internet service in 56 northern satellite communities starting just after 6:30 a.m. Thursday. Cable television service on the satellite is also disrupted across the country, including customers for Shaw Direct. The Canadian Press' wire service and data services for mining companies are similarly affected.

"There was an issue on the spacecraft, and it went into safe mode," said John Flaherty, a spokesperson for Telesat, in an OBJ interview. "It shut itself down and turned itself towards the sun. The solar arrays can keep the batteries charged, and nothing happens to the spacecraft. We've been in contact with the satellite and are in the process of essentially rebooting it."

Engineers are hoping to bring it online by the end of Thursday, he added. This is the first outage Anik F2 has experienced since its launch in 2004. "This type of thing rarely happens, and that's why it gets so much attention – because it's so rare and there are so many people affected by it."

Comment: This is a major problem because the general public get to find out that services that they take for granted are not guaranteed due to worsening conditions in space. Maybe, the use of the word 'rare' might refer to the satellite communication industry having to work very hard maintaining their services despite the challenges imposed by space weather and it's 'rare' that the general public become aware of the issues caused by space weather.

A clever cat who was thrown from a car stunned an RSPCA inspector by leading him to her litter of four tiny kittens hidden in a barn.

RSPCA inspector Jon Knight had been called out to rescue the young cat, after she was spotted being thrown from a car in the town of March, Cambridgeshire, last month.

The concerned caller had been monitoring the cat and started feeding her, and after two weeks managed to confine the cat in a green house in Upwell Road, March and the RSPCA was called.

Comment: I don't know how strange it is that a cat is intelligent enough to tell the difference between evil humans and kind humans.... This is a cat that was rescued after being thrown out of a car, but it realised that it could still trust a human with its kittens. I don't know about you, but I think that level of discernment to sort out the evil humans from the good humans is worth having... But as the saying goes, it's not what they say that matters, it is what they do and maybe this cat knows this...

Ridiculed crystal work wins Nobel for Israeli

(Reuters) - An Israeli scientist who suffered years of ridicule and even lost a research post for claiming to have found an entirely new class of solid material was awarded the Nobel Prize for chemistry on Wednesday for his discovery of quasicrystals.

Three decades after Daniel Shechtman looked with an electron microscope at a metal alloy and saw a pattern familiar in Islamic art but then unknown at a molecular level, those non-stick, rust-free, heat-resistant quasicrystals are finding their way into tools from LEDs to engines and frying pans.

Comment: Hmmm... It looks like we have another victory for a truth seeker... This scenario is repeated over and over again in science. It's a pattern that I recognised in my research and I decided to use this as a guide when searching for truth because those scientists that refused to conform and were being threatened, had a conviction with integrity that made them refuse to cooperate with the mediocre... The moral of the tale is that it is not very wise to just believe scientists who are happy with the current paradigm, without some basic understanding of what those with alternative opinions have to say. A surprisingly thoughtful commentary on consensus in Nature of all places. Even more surprising, it’s not paywalled.

The very idea that science best expresses its authority through consensus statements is at odds with a vibrant scientific enterprise. Consensus is for textbooks; real science depends for its progress on continual challenges to the current state of always-imperfect knowledge. Science would provide better value to politics if it articulated the broadest set of plausible interpretations, options and perspectives, imagined by the best experts, rather than forcing convergence to an allegedly unified voice.

'Ocean-like' ice in space scan shows that Earth's life-giving oceans might have ridden in on a comet's tail

Today, most of Earth's surface is covered in water - but scientists believe Earth's oceans didn't form until around eight million years after the planet itself. The discovery of 'ocean-like' water on a comet by the HiFi instrument on the Herschel Space Observatory hints that Earth's oceans might have arrived in the form of comet ice.

If so, the impacts (we'd have needed quite a few) would have formed an important stage in the evolution of life on Earth. 'Life would not exist on Earth without liquid water, and so the questions of how and when the oceans got here is a fundamental one,' said University of Massachussetts astronomy professor Ted Bergin, 'It's a big puzzle and these new findings are an important piece.' Previous scans of comets led astronomers to believe that the icy bodies could not have brought water to Earth - or at least were only responsible for a very small fraction of it.

Comment: Is this another scientific paradigm shift? You need to read the book called The Big Splash by Dr Louis Frank to see how scientists fought against the concept of water coming from space... Here is a quote from one of my essays:

The New York Yimes Book Review described 'The Big Splash' as, "A savage tale of how science works" and you have to read the book to believe it. In 1981, Dr Louis Franks made this discovery in ultra-violet imaging from NASA's Dynamics Explorer satellite as part of his scientific research on the aurora. His images were being constantly marred by black spots that he first put down to technical factors, but after years of trying he could not irradicate them. In his images, these spots were actually 30 miles across and so he reasoned that the dark spots revealed the presence of water from an extraterrestrial origin.

Dr Louis Franks gives us great personal insight into how his ideas met harsh opposition and how he acquired heretic status after previously being considered a well respected scientist. Infact, Dr. Frank comes with impeccable credentials. He was a full professor at 32 and at the time of writing the book was reputed to have "more instruments on more spacecraft than anyone else on the planet." Yet, as Frank found and he reported in the New Scientist, “if you propose that something from out there is affecting us here and now, rather than millions of years in the past or millions of years in the future, beware the wrath of orthodox science. Science guards our isolation well.” Therefore, even good colleagues, refused to reconsider their existing beliefs and the antics that he endured are quite an eye-opener.

A peek into the chemical soup of life: Last universal common ancestor 'more sophisticated than we thought,' say biologists

The chemical soup out of which all life eventually evolved could have been more complex than was first thought, according to a new study. The last universal common ancestor (LUCA) is the name given to a crude organism that is now traceable in all domains of life; plants, animals, fungi, algae, etc.

Very little is actually known about this great-grandfather of evolution, and some scientists still debate whether it was even a cell. But a new study has suggested that LUCA was a more sophisticated organism than presumed, with a complex structure that makes it identifiable as a cell. The research, published in the journal Biology Direct, builds on several years of study of a previously overlooked feature of microbial cells. This particular area has a high concentration of polyphosphate, a type of energy currency in cells. [...]

The findings suggest that LUCA may have been more complex than the simplest organisms alive today, and it has simplified itself during the evolutionary process instead of growing more complex, as we might expect. 'You can't assume that the whole story of life is just building and assembling things,' said James Whitfield, a professor of entomology at Illinois and a co-author on the study.

'Some have argued that the reason that bacteria are so simple is because they have to live in extreme environments and they have to reproduce extremely quickly. 'So they may actually be reduced versions of what was there originally. 'According to this view, they've become streamlined genetically and structurally from what they originally were like. 'We may have underestimated how complex this common ancestor actually was.'

Comment: I think to understand orbs and UAPs, scientists need to understand the origins of life and here we are told that the last universal common ancestor (LUCA) is the name given to a crude organism that is now traceable in all domains of life; plants, animals, fungi, algae, etc. We are told that this organism simplified itself to live in extreme conditions on Earth, so if this organism came from space, in accordance with the theories of Panspermia, then what about other versions that might not have had to simplify themselves? How did they evolve?

Kansas City UFO: Object was 'hovering over the highway'

Another witness to the October 4, 2011, Kansas City, MO, triangle UFO sighting came forward October 5, 2011, who reports being just east of earlier witness reports - at the intersection of routes 470 and 40, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

Several witnesses have already reported who were near the I-70 intersection with Route 435. Missouri MUFON is currently investigating these reports. Case updates will be available here immediately with any related news. The new witness is a "family of four" who was driving home at 8 p.m. on October 4, when the object first came into view.

So, if you make a comparison with a human, an x-ray image will not give you the same as an ordinary photograph, do you get the picture?

Big jumps in September solar activity metrics

NOAA’s Space weather prediction center released their solar cycle progression updates, and it shows one of the largest jumps for all common solar metrics since cycle 24 began.

Of course we know that the sunspot number has jumped significantly due to the recent large sunspot group that released X-class flares, but there’s more than that.

Comment: In the course of time, we find out that there was a very small group of solar scientists using new and better techniques that predicted a small sunspot cycle, in fact, the smallest in 100 years. Actually, they were wrong, so far it's the smallest sunspot cycle in 200 years. But this is what NASA spokesman David Hathaway was telling the world:

Analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab have combined observations from SOHO and the twin STEREO spacecraft to calculate the CME's trajectory: It is heading for Mercury. The CME will hit the innermost planet on Oct. 5th around 04:30 UT plus minus 7 hours. Energetic particles accelerated by shock waves at the leading edge of the cloud could also have minor effects on the MESSENGER probe in orbit around Mercury. The CME's forecast track shows that Venus might also receive a blow on Oct. 6th.

European Space Agency to launch orbiter bound for the SUN (but it will only get within 26million miles)

A hot idea by the European Space Agency (ESA) is set to become a reality in 2017 when it sends a probe to the sun. The Solar Orbiter will come within 26million miles of our solar system’s gigantic heat source. High-tech instruments will analyse how it generates solar winds – radiation that disrupts our communication systems and gives Earth the spectacular Northern Lights.

Two years later the ESA plans to launch another probe called Euclid, which it hopes will tell us more about the mysterious energy known as dark matter – thought to be responsible for the rapid expansion of the universe. As the Solar Orbiter travels around the sun it will have to withstand temperatures of 500 degrees.

Its instruments will have to peer through tiny slots in its heat shields, but should give scientists remarkable information about the sun’s behaviour. [...] ‘The solar wind and coronal mass ejections - these big releases of material coming off the sun; we don't know precisely where they're coming from, and precisely how they're generated. Solar Orbiter can help us understand that.’

Comment: The Russians are also sending out a probe to get closer to the sun, if these probes are being used for space weather forecasting then that should help provide us with extra time in the event of a category G5 storm. We just have to hope we don't have a major blast in the meantime...

European Space Missions Target the Sun, Dark Energy

"Europe's next two space science missions will investigate solar activity and the nature of the mysterious "dark energy" that is accelerating the universe's expansion, European Space Agency (ESA) officials announced today (Oct. 4).

The two missions, called Solar Orbiter and Euclid, are due to launch in 2017 and 2019, respectively. They are medium-class missions, meaning the cost of each is capped at 470 million euros ($625 million). They are the first two missions chosen under ESA's long-term science plan, which is called Cosmic Visions 2015-2025."

Study shows humans still evolving

(PhysOrg.com) -- A new study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences provides evidence of human evolution and rapid genetic changes suggesting that, contrary to modern claims, technological and cultural advancements have not halted the evolutionary process in humans.

The new study, led by geneticist Emmanuel Milot from the University of Quebec, looked at a group of women from the remote island town of Ile aux Coudres in Quebec, Canada. The team looked at the birth, death and marriage records kept by the Catholic Church in the town. They were specifically looking at the data from women who married between 1799 and 1940.

What they discovered was that within that 140 year time frame, the age that the women conceived their first child dropped from 26 to 22. Looking at cultural, social and economic differences in the women, the researchers were able to determine that 30 to 50 percent of this variation in age was explained solely by genetic variations. [...] This is not the first study to show that human evolution is still happening. Recent studies include the Tibetans evolutionary change to adapt to the lower oxygen levels found in their high altitude environment. This change has only occurred throughout the last few hundred generations. Other studies show that humans have only evolved the ability to tolerate lactose in their systems over the last 5,000 or so years.

Comment: Personally, I think the Tibetan research is far more convincing, but the principle to remember is that humans can and will evolve quickly based on a desire to survive even in extreme environments.

I need to report on the cover-up involving nuclear contamination throughout Japan. I have been conducting measurements and experiments near my home in Western Japan, more than 500 kilometers from Fukushima (in Shiga Prefecture). I have found the local soil to be quite and undeniably contaminated. Even ambient radiation levels are around five times government data.

However, there is no acknowledgement from the government or media of this situation. The average citizen has no idea of the dangers, and therefore, takes no precautions.

The only way to understand how the government can present false data showing absolutely no effect of Fukushima in Western Japan -- knowing that some day the lie will become apparent -- is that things are far worse than anyone has imagined. Indeed in Japan, one does not tell someone with cancer than he/she has cancer; it may 'upset' them too much. I think, in the future, we will be given a similar excuse for the current cover-up.

I am writing a paper on the situation and my measures to alleviate the radiation on my property. I have four small children, who I plan to send abroad early next year. They will be among the first of many 'radiation refugees'. [...]

Prof. Daulton: “I also have to point out that official measurements are taken from atop tall buildings, which are usually government facilities. In the case of my Shiga prefecture, the (measurement height) is 20 meters (66 feet); in Osaka it is around 30 meters (98 feet). [...]

It is obvious that the situation is terrible and far worse than the Japanese government wants to admit, apparently they expect their people to live in complete denial. A huge hole that appeared in the Earth's protective ozone layer above the Arctic in 2011 was the largest recorded in the northern hemisphere, though the sudden appearance of the hole was not due to man-made causes, scientists said in a report on Monday.

The ozone layer high in the stratosphere acts like a giant shield against the sun's ultraviolet (UV) radiation, which can cause skin cancer and cataracts. Since the 1980s, scientists have charted the size of the ozone hole every summer above the Antarctic. Some years, the holes have been so large that they covered the entire continent and stretched to parts of South America. [...]

Comment: As I have written before: For decades, scientists have been pointing out that the climate on Earth is directed by the stars and that the cosmic environment is now rapidly changing. Here are a few opinions:

A 1992 paper (Bui et al, “Short-period variation of cosmic-ray intensity and ozone density observed in the stratosphere” [http://www.springerlink.com/content/891061284xmx3623/]) states: “The energy deposition by slowing-down of energetic ionizing particles in the atmosphere enhances the production of constituent concentration which perturbs and eventually destroys the ozone (OZ) layer. Near the Brazilian anomaly region the cosmic-ray (CR) intensity varies greatly due to the magnetic activity in that region. In order to study these variations, stratospheric balloons were launched to measure, simultaneously, the CR and OZ fluxes in the atmosphere. The Fourier-analysed data collected during the flight on April 22, 1989 show evidences of a short-period variation for both fluxes measured.”

In 2009, University of Waterloo Professor of Physics and Astronomy, Qing-Bin Lu said [http://newsrelease.uwaterloo.ca/news.php?id=5051] “it was generally accepted for more than two decades that the Earth's ozone layer is depleted by chlorine atoms produced by the sun's ultraviolet light-induced destruction of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) in the atmosphere. But mounting evidence supports a new theory that says cosmic rays, rather than the sun's UV light, play the dominant role in breaking down ozone-depleting molecules and then ozone. … Cosmic rays are concentrated over the North and South Poles due to Earth's magnetic field, and have the highest electron-production rate at the height of 15 to 18 km above the ground -- where the ozone layer has been most depleted.”

  Fluorine is abundant over the US Pacific Northwest and Canada. The jet stream carried the iodine and newly-formed XeFl compounds in a northeasterly direction, crossing into the Arctic circle and looping back down over Greenland, Scandinavia and European Russia. This exactly accounts for the oblong shape and direction of the expanded ozone hole.

Comment: The changes in how earthquakes are measured means that it is very difficult to compare available historical data with what is going on today. There is also a 25 year cycle of earthquake activity too, that makes making a judgement more difficult too.

How far back in time do UFOs go?

One has to wonder just how far back in time does the UFO phenomenon go ? Were they here when Mankind was just emerging? Were they here watching us develop?

There are a lot of resources out there to suggest that in fact UFOS have been here since the dawn of Human history. The writings of Zecharia Sitchin promote an explanation for human origins involving Alien beings. Sitchin attributes the creation of the ancient Sumerian culture to the Anunnaki, which he states was a race of extra-terrestrials from a planet beyond Neptune called Nibiru. He says the when our simian ancestors descended from the trees that they took some tens of thousands of us away and genetically enhanced us. Our purpose to the Anunnaki according to the Sumerian texts was to act as slaves to mine gold for them.

Comment: Of course I don't agree with the content of this article, but if you download the .pdf Historical artwork and UFOs by Matthew Hurley many religious and non-religious paintings over the centuries have depicted UFOs and this is a good collection, even though the quality of the images is not high. However, I would argue that some of these images clearly reveal entities that demonstrate instability features of plasma that can be generated in the laboratory, because plasma can be made to reproduce on an extremely wide scale. Of course, the Vatican knows the truth, this is an organisation that knows all about how to maintain power as Knowledge is Power, hence if you do some basic research, there has been some extremely curious historical statements from religious scholars that indicate that they know that we are not alone. I even read many many years ago (I can't even remember the book title), that fairies were great big things before they were downgraded by the Church. Now watch any children's cartoon or film (Shrek I is my favourite example) and see how a fairy can appear with or without a ball of light... Of course fairies have been anthropomorphised but today, scientists tell us that they can detect two types of plasma as entities can drop or create a cloak of light. We don't need to keep pretending to be ignorant, there is just a need to acknowledge the truth. COMET AND CME: A comet discovered by amateur astronomers on Friday, Sept. 30th, disintegrated in spectacular fashion the very next day when it plunged into the sun. The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory recorded the comet's last hours. The end was punctuated by an unexpected explosion:

Watch the movie again. The timing of the CME so soon after the comet dove into the sun suggests a link. But what? There is no known mechanism for comets to trigger solar explosions. Before 2011 most solar physicists would have discounted the events of Oct. 1st as pure coincidence--and pure coincidence is still the most likely explanation. Earlier this year, however, the Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) watched another sungrazer disintegrate in the sun's atmosphere. On July 5, 2011, the unnamed comet appeared to interact with plasma and magnetic fields in its surroundings as it fell apart. Could a puny comet cause a magnetic instability that might propagate and blossom into a impressive CME? The question is not so crazy as it once seemed to be.

DOUBLE ERUPTION: On October 1st around 10:17 UT, widely-spaced sunspots 1302 and 1305 erupted in quick succession, revealing a long-distance entanglement which was not obvious before. NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) recorded the double blast:

Since it was launched in 2010, SDO has observed many "entangled eruptions." Active regions far apart but linked by magnetic fields can explode one after another, with disturbances spreading around the stellar surface domino-style. Saturday's eruption appears to be the latest example.

The part of the eruption centered on sunspot 1305 hurled a coronal mass ejection toward Earth. The relatively slow-moving (500 km/s) cloud is expected to reach our planet on Oct. 4th or 5th, possibly causing geomagnetic storms when it arrives.

Comment: It looks like spaceweather.com did not get the message that NASA wanted this CME eruption caused by a comet censored... So, here we are given the full SOHO technicolour version! But wait a minute, we are also provided with a sensible explanation for WHY comets can generate massive eruptions on the sun!?! Goodness! It looks like our solar scientists are actually thinking...

Comment: So, people are concerned that man-made religions are under threat? Oh well... I believe the only way to progress is for people to understand how religions started and have evolved over time. Then maybe, some will realise that we have certainly not received the full truth from those who organize and control religious beliefs and who have clearly demonstrated over millenia that their primary focus is power and control. It is now quite certain that real spiritual truth is extremely low down on their list of priorities.

Comment: It's called plasma and some of this plasma is distinct enough in shape to be called plasmoids. It demonstrates 'intelligent' behaviour because it is made up of the basic 'intelligent' stuff of the universe. Our scientists tell us that sub-atomic particles demonstrate intelligent behaviour, so if you put a lot of these sub-atomic particles together with a strong magnetic field, it can still demonstrate intelligent behaviour, but I believe this varies based on particle composition.... Oh well, there will be lots of time to learn because there will be lots of this stuff floating around from now on...

These kind of articles just make me want to shake my head as I think of those who thought that nothing significant would happen at 2012... Of course they were right, because most had been mislead about what was happening on our planet and the belief of whether something would happen in 2012 or not was just a major red herring. The doomed comet appears to be a member of the Kreutz family. Kreutz sungrazers are fragments from the breakup of a single giant comet many centuries ago. They get their name from 19th century German astronomer Heinrich Kreutz, who studied them in detail. Several Kreutz fragments pass by the sun and disintegrate every day. Most, measuring less than a few meters across, are too small to see, but occasionally a big fragment like this one attracts attention. [latest images]

Comment: Interesting, spaceweather.com decides to not provide an update on this major solar event, despite video being available from the billions of dollars worth of space probes watching the sun 24/7. Of course, these space probes have been paid for by taxpayers, but NASA et al. don't want to provide observational proof to support alternative theories about how the Sun and comets interact... Comment: It looks like a comet caused a MASSIVE eruption on the Sun, but this has been deleted from most other coronagraph movies as others have noted. This is an altered official .gif version here. Someone managed to get a clip of the comet and they are right, it is HUGE! Where did that come from? HUGE-HUGE Object/Comet Heading Toward Sun 10/1/11 This is a theoretical problem for NASA who refuse to acknowledge what comets really represent, see archives for references. Rare baby white whale surfaces in Queensland to rival the famous Migaloo

A WHITE whale calf believed to be just a few weeks old has been spotted off the Whitsundays coast in Queensland. However it's impossible to tell yet whether the animal is related to the famous white whale Migaloo.

Species expert Mark Read, of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority, said without DNA information experts would be unable to link the calf to the other famous white whale. “It would be pure speculation, we would have to get genetic material from the calf and then analyse that and its relationship to Migaloo,” he told the Townsville Bulletin.

However, I am pleased to see that there are now conferences on scientific integrity, lots of new websites highlighting felons and some of the 'old folks', Nobel Laureates etc, are getting publicly annoyed that scientists are starting to get a very bad reputation for duplicity (of course this does not include the Nobel Laureates that have faked their research for which they were given their prestigious award), but in any case, a few need to go to jail first for the message to really hit home hard amongst the scientific community.

Protesters had been swarming Wall Street and Lower Manhattan for a week.There were at least six arrests the first day Occupy Wall Street camped out and chanted near the New York Stock Exchange. There were dozens more by the weekend.

By Saturday, the hundreds of protesters appeared to have lit a fuse with New York City police. There were rough arrests that bordered on brutality. Pepper spray brought tears and pain. Watch YouTube video of female protesters penned and pepper sprayed .

And to a nation’s shock, not one of the police targets was a banker. So much for law and order.

If you want to know how a nation supposedly by and for the people has become uprooted, one only needs to see how common young people, who are suffering so badly in this recession, were humiliated further by trying to exercise their given right to peacefully protest. If this is justice, I’d rather break the law.

This is not a political blog but my interested is to point out that there have been many signs of a shift in consciousness on this planet. Comment: So far, over 230 blogs have picked up this NOAA email warning about a strong geomagnetic storm, but it seems that people are disturbed that NOAA and a host of other agencies are taking space weather seriously when the general public are still baffled by the seriousness of the situation. Just think, on the 26th, the ACE space satellite only provided a 44 minute warning of a CME arriving at Earth, before ground currents were detected in northern Norway, the situation does not have to be too dissimilar to create a scenario where geomagnetically induced currents flowing through the ground could burn out hundreds of transformers, hence the warning to grid operators from NOAA. I would say the situation is fairly dire as we await the next solar bullet...

EMP: The Greatest Threat to America, and What We Can Do about It

It's bewildering. Pathetic. Frightening. And it seems that the mainstream media avoids talking about it for fear that Americans will panic. Well, Americans ought to be panicking -- anything to get them to bang on Congress's door and force our representatives to immediately act on the pending legislature now in Congress called the SHIELD Act -- a bill based on the previous HR 5026 -- that unanimously passed in the House of Representatives on June 9, 2010.

The disaster I am referring to is an electromagnetic pulse (EMP), which can easily be caused either by Mother Nature as a geomagnetic solar storm or by an enemy with a low-cost, short range, ship-launched missile armed with a nuclear warhead. The national consequences of an EMP destroying our electrical grid are far-reaching, with long-lasting, continent-wide crippling effects to our electricity-dependant infrastructure.

At the press conference organized by EMPactAmerica on September 23, 2011, this dangerous threat to our national security was exposed for what it truly is -- the most likely event to happen to the U.S., naturally or man-made, that has the potential to bring the country to its knees.

New Forecast: Sun's 'Superstorms' Could Doom Satellites

Magnetic storms set off by the sun could pose a bigger threat than thought to weather, communication, military and other satellites close to Earth, with a potentially devastating economic impact, scientists suggest.

In the new study, researchers found that solar radiation can energize a belt of high-energy particles that surrounds Earth more dramatically than previously believed.

The study focused on the possible effects of a particularly strong magnetic storm on the Van Allen radiation belts, the dangerous rings of high-energy particles that girdle the Earth. The belts are split into two distinct zones. The outer belt, which is made up of electrons, reaches from about 15,800 to 31,600 miles (25,500 to 51,000 kilometers) above the surface, while the inner belt, which consists of a mix of electrons and protons, reaches from about 4,000 to 8,000 miles (6,400 to 12,800 km) above. Comment: Well, this is the conclusion that I came to back in 2005 & 2006, when I was researching space weather and finding out all the problems that satellite operators were facing with the new hostile conditions in space. Hence, in the process of integrating metaphysical messages that clearly stated that there was going to be massive increases in evolutionary energies, I realised that the world's satellite communication infrastructure was going to have severe challenges and it might all be destroyed. After my book was published, I was informed by a new friend about Robert Cox's book The Pillar of Celestial Fire (1997) that was generally ignored by the wider metaphysical community, but I was thrilled to find a book by someone who actually understood the metaphysical implications of what was taking place. Even though there is no mention of space weather, it clearly revealed that there was going to be a massive escalation of evolutionary energies based on Vedic and other traditional sources. It is amazing to me that that the metaphysical community did not see the implications of the ancient warnings of a downpour of celestial energies (Vedic Age of Energy, The Age of Aquarius, The Golden Age, Age of Aether etc etc) and not integrate this with the scientific theories that 96% of the energy-matter of the universe is completely invisible to our current methods of detection, but our scientists insist that it must exist. Yet, NASA have provided the world with the proof that the additional energy engulfing our solar system is not actually 'physical' in the traditional sense and better fits the metaphysical term 'aetheric' because it does not fit the scientific descriptions of 'dark matter' either. Well, it is now obvious the fabric of spacetime has changed its properties and that during the flux of energies associated with solar storms and galactic blasts, some of the 96%+ is really hammering the world's satellite communication networks and threatening our modern technological world. The planet is being charged up like a battery by trillions of tons of highly charged plasma during major solar storms and people are being affected, whether they realise it or not.

It is true, but NASA have been very careful to downplay the whole space weather phenomenon, even though those of us who are monitoring the situation are being constantly told about satellite communications infrastructure and the national power grids, but very little public consideration is being given to the fact that humans are bioelectromagnetic... IMPACT: A coronal mass ejection (CME) hit Earth's magnetic field at approximately 12:15 UT on Sept. 26th. The impact caused significant ground currents in Norway. Also, the Goddard Space Weather Lab reports a "strong compression of Earth's magnetosphere. Simulations indicate that solar wind plasma [has penetrated] close to geosynchronous orbit starting at 13:00UT." Geosynchronous satellites could therefore be directly exposed to solar wind plasma and magnetic fields. Stay tuned for updates.

Comment: Yes, it does look bad, I quickly caught the image in the right before it disappeared, I have never seen the magnetosphere in that condition... but the proof that things are bad are the reports of ground currents in Lofoten, Norway. Please note, the world was given 44 minutes from when the CME shockwave hit the ACE satellite at L1, 1 million miles away, to when the geomagnetically induced currents (GICs) were induced and recorded. This is exactly how the national power grids will be destroyed if the right circumstances prevail and are allowed. So, the Sun is firing bullets and we have some solar Russian roulette...

Find a dark spot on the San Diego County coastline after night falls and you might be be treated to a spectacular neon blue light show. Bioluminescent waves, which glow a vivid blue as they crash ashore, have been dazzling nighttime visitors to the beach this week. Photographers have been snapping photos of the otherworldly surf as it has increased in intensity over the last few days.

The electric blue glow is caused by an algae bloom commonly referred to as a “red tide.” The organism, a phytoplankton called Lingulodinium polyedrum, has bloomed since late August, turning the water a brownish-red color in the daytime, according to UC San Diego scientists.

The movement of the waves turns the tide a brilliant blue, visible only after night falls. It’s caused by a chemical reaction on the cellular level, according to Scripps Institution of Oceanography Professor Peter J. Franks, who calls the phytoplankton “my favorite dinoflagellate.”

Comment: I am totally fascinated by the phenomenon of bioluminescence that our scientists do not understand very well. What amazes me is that with the escalation of new energies on this planet, bioluminescence could become more and more prevalent and our planet could eventually become a 'World of Light'... the possibility is really exciting.

This fascinating observation made almost 30 years ago has finally landed entomologists Darryl Gwynne and David Rentz with an Ig Nobel Prize. The Igs are the "alternative" version to the rather more sober Nobel awards announced in Sweden next week. [...]

Being given an Ig is nowadays regarded as something to be proud of, which may explain why seven of the 10 winners this year travelled to the ceremony at their own expense. Receiving their Ig from a real Nobel Laureate - seven of them were in attendance - probably added to the sense of achievement. [sad...]

Comment: It is always interesting to know about what scientists are researching, especially now when our whole modern technological world is under threat and when it seems the vast majority of the academic community are still oblivious.

Comment: I struggled to believe this article... How is it possible to write on topics that you have never studied for and make it credible? I spend thousands and thousands of hours studying and I have had complete idiots telling me that I don't know what I am talking about. So, five years after my book was published, we are starting to see just how serious the implications of Space Weather are for our modern technological world, but this could have been easily determined by anyone who knows the facts, who could also engage brain and think. I suppose this person can make money from re-hashing old information, but anyone who wants to come up with something new and relevant is going to struggle to find anyone who can think long enough to do a proper review. The real problem we have in society is enough people who can think independently who don't want to take the easy way out and promote the same old crap.

NASA Space Telescope Finds Fewer Asteroids Near Earth

WASHINGTON -- New observations by NASA's Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, or WISE, show there are significantly fewer near-Earth asteroids in the mid-size range than previously thought. The findings also indicate NASA has found more than 90 percent of the largest near-Earth asteroids, meeting a goal agreed to with Congress in 1998.

Astronomers now estimate there are roughly 19,500 -- not 35,000 -- mid-size near-Earth asteroids. Scientists say this improved understanding of the population may indicate the hazard to Earth could be somewhat less than previously thought. However, the majority of these mid-size asteroids remain to be discovered. More research also is needed to determine if fewer mid-size objects (between 330 and 3,300-feet wide) also mean fewer potentially hazardous asteroids, those that come closest to Earth.

Comment: I imagine this was based on a very carefully worded press release from NASA. It's not the asteroids that we can see that is the main problem, it's those we can't...

A two-headed cat in Worcester, Mass., has twice the reasons for celebrating his recent birthday: It got him in the Guinness Book of World Records. The double-domed feline is named "Frankenlouie," and according to its owner, who only wants to be known as Marty, he turned 12 on Sept. 8, according to the Worcester Telegram.

In doing so, he earned a place in the record books for being the longest-lived Janus cat (the term for cats with two heads, which comes from the name of a two-faced Roman god). "He is the most astounding two-headed animal of all," according to Todd Ray of the Venice Beach Freakshow, who has some by estimates, the largest collection of bizarre animals in the world -- including 22 living two-headed animals and a five-legged dog. Still, he says Frankenlouie is in a class by his two-headed self.

Comment: Hmmm... it really makes you wonder about the many strange ancient images as we have the comparison here with Janus the two-faced Roman god. From what I have already found, there seems to be a strong possibility of dna templates being all mixed up due to environment being in complete chaos... so, at the moment, this is just the start... A few metaphysical sources with extremely weak voices did warn, but since they are not part of the New Age Banditry, very few got to hear and understand an important message.

Japan 'scared' of telling truth to Fukushima evacuees

A former adviser to the Japanese cabinet has revealed the government has known for months that thousands of evacuees from around the Fukushima nuclear plant will not be able to return to their homes.

Nearly seven months after the meltdowns at Fukushima, about 80,000 people are still living in shelters or temporary housing.

Former special adviser to Japan's prime minister and cabinet Kenichi Matsumoto has told the ABC that the government has known for months that many who live close to the Fukushima plant will not be able to return to their homes for 10 to 20 years because of contamination.

Comment: I actually can't see the point of this story. Fukushima is a nuclear disaster on a scale that this world has not experienced in modern times. Telling folk that they can't go back to Fukushima Prefecture is not as difficult as explaining to 35 million people that Tokyo must be abandoned.

Comment: There is so much fire in the sky it is ridiculous, the story above has been only feature on blogs but it was MAJOR news in Argentina, see video link for news items below. The video looks like a real fireball and NOT satellite debris breaking up in the atmosphere. Earth is now engulfed in an interstellar cloud debris field and objects large and small are passing by and some are entering our atmosphere and burning up on a regular basis (see spaceweather.com for what has been discovered coming our way), but NASA et al. are finding it IMPOSSIBLE to track all these objects. A waterspout formed over lake Michigan Saturday near Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The weather phenomenon is unusual, particularly in that region.

Waterspouts are essentially tornadoes that develop at sea, in which a continuous vortex extends from a cloud to the water surface.

Inside the spout, winds can reach speeds of up to 62.1 miles an hour. They have also been known to pick up various sea-life and dump it on land. Several waterspouts were reported in that area Saturday.

Mystery Illness Plagues Asian Factories

Researchers from the United Nations recently met in Cambodia to solve the mystery of why large numbers of female workers in that nation have succumbed to an unknown (and temporary) illness. But rather than a physical illness as the source, the scientists may want to look at the mind as the root cause.

(It's not that women are the only workers who are being affected, it's that the majority of workers in these factories are women.) [...]

Over a thousand workers have experienced similar episodes since June. The most likely explanation is mass hysteria, also called mass sociogenic illness. [Top 10 Mysterious Diseases]

Many people misunderstand the nature of mass hysteria and assume that victims are making up their symptoms. The complaints are real and verifiable; the victims are not imagining their problems. It is not a joke, nor a hoax. Nor is a diagnosis of mass hysteria merely a default explanation when investigators can't find a cause. In fact there are several fairly specific diagnostic criterion.

Mass hysteria often begins when individuals under stress convert that stress into physical ills. Co-workers, family and friends may also begin exhibiting the symptoms through contagion. Outbreaks are most common in closed social units (such as schools, hospitals and workplaces) and where afflicted individuals are under pressure and routine stress. Mass hysterias tend to afflict girls and women more often than boys and men, probably because the illness spreads through social ties, and females tend to have stronger social bonds than males.

Comment: I am having some very strange thoughts comparing factories to bee hives and the problems with bees dying in mysterious circumstances. The problems with factory workers can be compared to schools in parts of Africa where there have been on going reports of mass hysteria too, see the report below but apparently, Swedish school girls get first prize for some seriously bizarre behaviour. Now that this seems to be spreading, I am starting to think this might be the start of another phenomena where people in completely unnatural environments (people too close like in a hive) demonstrate that during major geomagnetic disturbances, they are struggling to balance. What is interesting, is that my opinion does not count, this is going to be determined by what actually happens and I think some proper research needs to be done (and of cause it might take scientists YEARS to think of this, get the research funded, conducted and published), but anyway, I think this is going to get much more serious.

Comment: Hmmm.... I will repeat what I have written before many times on this website. Ufologists are mainly interested in the existence of aliens or ETs that look similar or dis-similar to humans (humanoid types), but that is NOT the cause of the majority of UFO reports. The real issue is that world controllers KNOW that another form of life exists throughout the universe and acts like a shadow biosphere on Earth, and this is the news that many do not want revealed. The real concern is that the average citizen will work out that humans are not the top of the universal pecking order and that is a problem for world controllers who wish to be seen as completely in control when it is obvious that they do not have ultimate control. Despite the manipulations, it is not possible to stop the energetic shift on this planet and it is only a matter of time before the vast majority will become aware of the fact that there are strange lifeforms regularly appearing in our skies and that Earth is becoming a Cosmic Aquarium. I've seen a beautiful little ball of light myself walking home from a visit to the local shops. This was the same type that people driving cars have seen that has forced them to stop and get out of their cars to examine because even at a distance, it is obvious what can be seen is not a 'normal' light. I presume the variety of lifeforms is the reason why the militaries are in conflict about whether they are a threat or not. I can only imagine that some perceive some of these entites to be a threat because they are big and there is no way of controlling them. I believe that the Obama Administration should do a 2-stage disclosure and reveal the existence of UAPs because that is urgent and there is enough science in the public domain to at least provide some explanations, however, the possible existence of humanoid ET types is another issue completely that I leave for others to discuss.

Neil Armstrong says US space program 'embarrassing'

Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, told lawmakers Thursday that the end of the space shuttle era has left the American human spaceflight program in an "embarrassing" state.

"We will have no American access to, and return from, low Earth orbit and the International Space Station for an unpredictable length of time in the future," Armstrong told the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.

"For a country that has invested so much for so long to achieve a leadership position in space exploration and exploitation, this condition is viewed by many as lamentably embarrassing and unacceptable."

Comment: Space weather means that space is now an extremely hostile environment and the technology required to go into space has to be vastly different from that currently employed. At a minimum, spacecraft require plasma shields and the availability depends on where scientists have got to in their knowledge of working with plasmas.

THIS is the moment a group of chimpanzees sees daylight for the first time in 30 years — after being locked in cages for medical testing. The animals hugged each other in delight before they took their first steps outside.

Long Duration M-Class Flare + Bright CME

Another X-Class Flare:

Sunspot 1302 is back at it again, this time producing an X1.9 Solar Flare at 09:40 UTC. This major event resulted in an R3 level radio blackout as well as producing a 10.7cm Radio Burst (TenFlare). A fast moving type II sweep frequency event is reported also. As this massive Sunspot continues to rotate into better position, the chances for an earth directed Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) will improve. This explosion did produce a CME, however it does not look to be very significant at this time. Stay Tuned to SolarHam.com, which is the number one spot for all of the latest information.

Comment: This is a decent summary report because there have been a lot of X-rated flares and and CMEs this week and there is evidence of the Earth's ionosphere being affected. UARS is down in south-western Canada

Locals in Okotoks (approximately 30km south of Calgary) are reporting the discovery of wreckage from the recently downed UARS (Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite), including a large piece that left a substantial crater and early estimates suggest a debris field extending to the north east of there.

Update #15: NASA has confirmed that "NASA’s decommissioned Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite fell back to Earth between 11:23 p.m. EDT Friday, Sept. 23 and 1:09 a.m. EDT Sept. 24. The Joint Space Operations Center at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California said the satellite penetrated the atmosphere over the Pacific Ocean. The precise re-entry time and location are not yet known with certainty."

Comment: See the selection of videos below! Really, lots of education is required because there is another German satellite coming down soon, see below. It's raining satellites, Hallelujah!?! And as I have confirmed this week, there are approx. 12,000 dead satellites in orbit around Earth! That gives plenty of opportunities for lots of fun and games... Update UARS satellite was the size of a bus but it has disappeared without a trace... to say this is bizarre is to put it mildly and some people are totally unimpressed with NASA. Well, I would have thought the most sensible thing would be the U.S. military shooting it down over the Pacific where there are less prying eyes to report what happened.

This video link was doing the rounds of Twitter & internet forums and has already been debunked. Obviously, this is not the UARS re-entry and it looks to be about 30 orbs floating gracefully across the sky! They could even be Chinese lanterns, but I doubt it because if you watch carefully at the beginning, some are travelling at different speeds and others are grouped in smaller geometrical formations. So, how could anyone think these orbs/lanterns are a satellite burning up in the atmosphere?

The old research spacecraft was targeted to crash through the atmosphere sometime Friday night or early Saturday, putting the U.S. back in the potential crosshairs, although most of the satellite should burn up during re-entry.

"It just doesn't want to come down,"said Jonathan McDowell of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics. McDowell said the satellite's delayed demise demonstrates how unreliable predictions can be. That said, "the best guess is that it will still splash in the ocean, just because there's more ocean out there."

"In the last 24 hours, something has happened to the spacecraft," said NASA orbital debris scientist Mark Matney. NASA cautioned there was now a slim chance any surviving debris would land in the United States. Earlier this week, the space agency said North America would be in the clear.

"Risks posed by orbital debris to people on the ground aren't limited to the heavy, twisted chunks of metal that fail to burn on reentry and fall from the sky. What very few people consider are the substances carried inside the various spacecrafts and rockets. Many times, these substances fall back to Earth. On January 24, 1978, after suffering a technical malfunction onboard, the Soviet satellite Cosmos 954 disintegrated over the Northern Territories in Canada. Scattered across a vast area were thousands of radioactive particles, pieces of the satellite's nuclear power core that survived reentry. The Soviets were unable to predict where Cosmos 954 might fall—they estimated somewhere between Hawaii and Africa; nor were they able to alter the satellite's flight path on reentry.

Over 60 nuclear devices were launched into orbit so far. NASA will launch three more missions involving nuclear-powered crafts in the coming years. The army isn't saying much, but nuclear militarization of space is a known trend and an ongoing debate. What happens if a nuclear space rocket is hit by space debris? Nine nuclear spacecrafts have fallen back to Earth, so far. The Cosmos 954 incident was the worst one, and in fairness, some cores were never breached. If you thought the outlook for Earth's climate looked bleak, don't look up. A new study suggests that space weather—the hail of energetic particles above our atmosphere—is set to worsen in coming decades. The grim forecast suggests that astronauts and frequent flyers will face greater radiation hazards and could rule out a crewed mission to Mars before 2050.

Space weather is a general term for the environmental conditions above Earth's atmosphere. When space weather is bad, dangerous particles abound. These include protons and ions, known as galactic cosmic rays (GRCs), raining down at near-light speed from space, and similar particles coming in bursts from the sun, called solar energetic particles (SEPs).

Comment: You can think of solar energetic particles (SEPs) as cosmic hail and they will pepper satellites and cause serious damage. The article fails to mention that any hail of cosmic bullets will reset bits and bytes in electronics. After 13 months of investigation cosmic rays were eventually pinpointed as the reason that 100 people were injured (some very seriously) in October 2008 when Qantas flight QF72, went into 2 rapid descents after equipment failure in one of three avionics boxes, see Cosmic rays may have hit Qantas jet. The solution is radiation hardened electronics, this is an expensive option that does not give a 100% shielding, but it is still better than nothing if people want to minimise the risk in the worse bouts of space weather. By the way, that also applies for computers and all sensitive electronics at ground level. This is the reality of a New Cosmic Age.

One of the very pillars of physics and Einstein's theory of relativity - that nothing can go faster than the speed of light - was rocked Thursday by new findings from one of the world's foremost laboratories.

European researchers said they clocked an oddball type of subatomic particle called a neutrino going faster than the 186,282 miles per second that has long been considered the cosmic speed limit.

The claim was met with skepticism, with one outside physicist calling it the equivalent of saying you have a flying carpet. In fact, the researchers themselves are not ready to proclaim a discovery and are asking other physicists to independently try to verify their findings.

"The feeling that most people have is this can't be right, this can't be real," said James Gillies, a spokesman for the European Organization for Nuclear Research, or CERN, which provided the particle accelerator that sent neutrinos on their breakneck 454-mile trip underground from Geneva to Italy.

Going faster than light is something that is just not supposed to happen according to Einstein's 1905 special theory of relativity - the one made famous by the equation E equals mc2. But no one is rushing out to rewrite the science books just yet.

Comment: I wrote an whole article on this based on the work of Prof. Emeritus William Tiller and his Tiller-Einstein Model of Positive-Negative Spacetime. Here is a quote:

Tiller refers to matter described by the curve to the left of c, (at velocities less than the speed of light) as the world of Positive Space/Time (+S/T) and the world of Negative Space/Time (-S/T) where energy is magnetoelectric and negativity entropic, and substance is of a subtle magnetic character. The substance which makes up our etheric bodies vibrates at speeds faster than light making it difficult to directly measure with convention electromagnetic sensing equipment. A number of physicists have proposed the existence of a particle known as a "tachyon", which would theoretically exist only at speeds exceeding that of light velocity2. Unlike Positive Space/Time matter which is associated with forces of electricity and electromagnetic (EM) radiation. -ve Negative Space/Time is associated primarily with magnetism and a force which Tiller describes as magnetoelectric (ME) radiation. Electromagnetic theory predicts that magnetic monopoles- particles magnetically charged either North or South should exist in nature. No one has yet successfully captured or repeatedly detected magnetic monopoles. It is possible that if a domain of this particle is in tachyonic realms like those in Tiller's negative space/time model, then our present measuring equipment may be inadequate(or insensitive) for the task.

There is speculation about the panic and chaos that might follow when UFO disclosure occurs, and when, possibly, UFO occupants land on Earth for all to perceive. Will governments collapse, will society disintegrate as people are gripped with fear and foreboding? And will the human religions of this world fail to be of service to their many people? Will UFO landings be the end of religions?

If this occurred, it would be worse than governments and societies failing, because humankind turns to "The Spiritual" when threatened and traumatized. We might logically, intelligently think our way out of one problem, but when something enormous occurs, we ask our Supreme Being or Beings to help us. God, we do, don’t we? It is just in us.

Comment: Yes, it's a very worrying aspect of all this that people will turn to the religions and the metaphysical community with leaderships that do not seem to understand what is happening to our world. Actually, the Catholic Church do know what's going on and despite all the nasty but true things I could say about Catholism, at least they understand enough to try and prepare and they deserve some kudos for that at least. Anyway, I like this quote and I don't care that it's from Star Trek: Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations. This is a Fortean concept that religions and the scientific community have until now failed to comprehend and teach.

Let me describe what happened so that you can make up your own mind. On Monday 12 September, a caller named Sue phoned the Liveline show on RTé Radio 1, an Irish radio station. Sue said that she had attended Morgan's show the previous night at the Grand Canal Theatre in Dublin and had been impressed by the accuracy of the readings she made in the first half of the show.

But then something odd happened. Sue was sitting in the back row on the fourth level of the theatre and there was a small room behind her ("like a projection room") with a window open. Sue and her companions became aware of a man's voice and "everything that the man was saying, the psychic was saying it 10 seconds later."

Sue believes, not unreasonably, that the man was feeding information to Sally through an earpiece attached to her microphone.

Comment: I'll make this very easy... This woman is a fraud, there are lots of them out there, but many simple people love the show business of it all. It reminds me of one of my favourite films the classic Steve Martin film Leap of Faith about Jonas Nightengale, a fraudulent Christian faith healer. Wikipedia has the plot. I am sure there are people who attend these events who genuinely are desperately looking for some comfort, but I suspect others enjoy the entertainment and feed off the emotional charge that is generated.

Btw, just in case you don't understand why I love this film... Jonas Nightengale is 100% fraud and he believes that he is providing top class entertainment for people who come to his revival meetings, but when Jonas is confronted by a genuine miracle, he is completely freaked out. Now, the moral of the story is that universal energies do not care about HOW people are brought into a state where they BELIEVE miracles are possible. I do not even pretend to understand why this happens but we known that UNIVERSAL ENERGIES can sometimes intervene and REAL MIRACLES can happen. I wrote in my book that Russians scientists have been shocked by energies that appear from nowhere and re-order energetic processes that they have deliberately put into a disordered state for experimental purposes. Now, I only know a little about universal energies due to my experiences with Kundalini energies, but I know for a fact that humans have access to special types of energies, the scientific term is negative entropic. So whilst people have always been manipulated by fake spirtual leaders, it does not mean that there are not greater truths and realities for us to understand. In my opinion, Seekers need to step over the dead bodies and keep searching for the divine, it's out there, I know I have experienced it...

Seven scientists and other experts are standing trial on manslaughter charges for allegedly failing to sufficiently warn residents before a devastating earthquake that killed more than 300 people in central Italy in 2009.

The case is being closely watched by seismologists around the world, who insist it is impossible to predict earthquakes and say no major tremor has ever been foretold.

Comment: OK, I have a lot of harsh things to say about science but I still don't agree with this... Humans have divorced themselves from the planet and when the Earth starts to signal that something major is about to happen, the vast majority of humans simply cannot process the information, yet most often the animals do react... Please remember that it was reported that a scientist did warn about this earthquake and he was arrested for scaremongering. It's like the issue of space weather. It's been over 20 years since things started to escalate. The UK & US governments have now warned they are going to play Russian roulette with the Sun and the vast majority of people are still oblivious to what is going on and what needs to be done to make sure people remain safe. I even had one ignorant fool tell me I was scaremongering the very week US & UK government made the unprecedented announcement. So, if and when it goes wrong, will the ignorant majority try and blame the few people who tried to make a difference and warn? As far as I am concerned, this is a very similar situation.

A plant that sows its own seeds discovered

Scientists have discovered a tiny plant which they say bows down and sows its own seeds.

The dainty, inch-high plant with pink-and-white flowers was found growing in the backyard of a local plant collector in rural northeastern Bahia, Brazil, one of the world’s most biologically diverse areas.

Comment: Maybe the plant is impatient and hates waiting for some insect or bird to do the job and so it decided to evolve... LOL! Anyway, I always have difficulties with this subject because botantists and biologists always say they have 'found' new species but just because they have found something undocumented, does not mean it is really new and so unless a species is heavily monitored (history retained in DNA?), then I think it's difficult to make a call about whether evolution really has taken place.

I have been following the scientific research on psychopathy by Canada’s Professor Robert Hare for some years given his seminal work on demonstrating that the common notions of psychopathy are grossly over-simplistic and one-dimensional. In their purest form Psychopaths literally are, as the title of one of Professor Hare’s books suggests, “without conscience” but are not all like some Hannibal Lecter stereotype or likely to end up in prison or secure mental institution.

Psychopaths are an aberrant minority or human sub-group that can be highly intelligent and able to assess and mimic normal human emotions and empathy so as to disguise their true nature from society, colleagues and even spouses. Intelligent psychopaths can in fact teach themselves to intellectually understand normal cooperative emotional human beings in considerable detail without sharing or feeling normal human emotions and sympathy – which are viewed by psychopaths as weaknesses and not the long-term communal human survival traits/strategies that they actually are. Comment: Well, even the BBC are pointing out that there are aliens amongst us... In terms of spiritual evolution, it is very important to realise that there are people who are literally sub-human, who will oppose you. I really don't believe it is possible to progress without some understanding of how to avoid being involved with psychopaths because they are extremely dangerous if left undetected. (Unfortunately, I had to find this out the hard way.) My own experiences of coming across people whose energy is very cold, not human, left me startled, to the point where I immediately wondered what those people represented. In fact, those first few experiences occurred many years before I knew anything about psychopaths. I continue to read about this subject, but in my opinion, something is distinctly strange about some people who only look human and the fact that this subject is going mainstream is highly significant, as the mass of humanity takes a massive evolutionary leap.

Scientists Take First Step Towards Creating 'Inorganic Life'

ScienceDaily (Sep. 15, 2011) — Scientists at the University of Glasgow say they have taken their first tentative steps towards creating 'life' from inorganic chemicals potentially defining the new area of 'inorganic biology'.

Professor Lee Cronin, Gardiner Chair of Chemistry in the College of Science and Engineering, and his team have demonstrated a new way of making inorganic-chemical-cells or iCHELLs.

Prof Cronin said: "All life on earth is based on organic biology (i.e. carbon in the form of amino acids, nucleotides, and sugars, etc.) but the inorganic world is considered to be inanimate. What we are trying do is create self-replicating, evolving inorganic cells that would essentially be alive. You could call it inorganic biology."

Comment: Of course this is not the first step, similar experiments have already taken place and provide the experimental observations and theoretical basis for a plasma based lifeform. Jay Alfred has written some nice articles about this. This is a good extract. Jay Alfred writes:

Plasma Life Forms in the Laboratory

This is not the first time in recent years that plasma life forms have been studied. In 2003 physicists; Erzilia Lozneanu and Mircea Sanduloviciu of Cuza University, Romania, described in their research paper Minimal Cell System created in Laboratory by Self-Organization (published in Chaos, Solitons & Fractals, volume 18, page 335), how they created plasma spheres in the laboratory that can grow, replicate and communicate - fulfilling most of the traditional requirements for biological cells. They are convinced that these plasma spheres offer a radically new explanation of how life began and proposed that they were precursors to biological evolution. The researchers studied environmental conditions similar to those that existed on the Earth before life began, when the planet was enveloped in electric storms that caused ionized gases to form in the atmosphere. They inserted two electrodes into a chamber containing a low-temperature polarized plasma of argon - a gas in which some of the atoms have been split into negatively-charged electrons and positively-charged ions. They applied a high voltage to the electrodes, producing an arc of energy that bolted across the gap between them, like a miniature lightning strike. Sanduloviciu says this electric spark caused a high concentration of ions and electrons to accumulate at the positively charged electrode, which spontaneously formed spheres. The evolved sphere appears as a stable, self-confined, layered, luminous and nearly spherical body - much like the "orbs" described in the paranormal literature and discussed below. The amount of energy in the initial spark governed their size and lifespan. Sanduloviciu grew spheres from a few micrometers to up to three centimeters in diameter.

Lozneanu and Sanduloviciu describe a rhythmic "inhalation" of the nucleus which mimics the breathing process of living systems and results in pulsations. The spheres could replicate by splitting into two. Under the right conditions they grew bigger, taking up neutral argon atoms and splitting them into ions and electrons to replenish their boundary layers. Finally, they could communicate information by emitting electromagnetic energy, making the atoms within other spheres vibrate at a particular frequency. "This is no different from the vibrating diaphragm in a telephone which enables information to be communicated from one point to another," says David Cohen, reporting in the journal New Scientist. This would give these plasma spheres an ability which would be described as telepathic if we did not know how electromagnetic waves worked. Sanduloviciu insists that although the spheres require high temperature to form, they can survive at lower temperatures. "That would be the sort of environment in which normal biochemical interactions occur". According to Sanduloviciu, these plasma spheres were the first cells on Earth, arising within electric storms, and he believes that the emergence of such spheres is a prerequisite for the evolution of biological cells. He says that the cell-like spheres could be at the origin of other forms of life we have not yet considered. "There could be life out there, but not as we know it" he says. Indeed, according to plasma metaphysics, the microscopic orbs (described in the paranormal literature) and the macroscopic subtle bodies (described in the metaphysical literature) are plasma-based life forms.

FEMA Prepared for Dead NASA Satellite's Plunge to Earth This Week

With a massive dead NASA satellite due to plunge back to Earth this week, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is laying the groundwork for a fast response in case the 6 1/2-ton spacecraft falls over American soil.

The defunct spacecraft, called the Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS), is projected to make and uncontrolled, fiery fall on Sept. 23, plus or minus a day, according to NASA.

Odds are that nobody will be beaned by any remaining chunks of the nearly $750 million spacecraft, with NASA experts forecasting a remote 1-in-3,200 chance of a possible injury from the satellite's debris

Comment: It's the size of a bus and NASA et al. are obviously very concerned about the risk. The image of the UARS ground track is interesting, yes there is a lot of water but I am surprised it could hit over Europe too. The comments here about not leaving enough propellant for a controlled reentry is probably misguided. When satellite controllers lose control they lose control... FOUR CMEs: On Sept. 19th, the STEREO-SOHO fleet of spacecraft surrounding the sun detected six coronal mass ejections (CMEs). Two of the clouds rapidly dissipated. According to analysts at the Goddard Space Weather Lab, who prepared the movie, one CME should hit Mercury on Sept. 20th at 05:40 UT while another delivers a glancing blow to Earth's magnetic field on Sept. 22th at 23:00 UT. All impact times have an uncertainty of plus or minus 7 hrs.

Comment: A new uptick in solar activity.... 6 CMEs in one go? Well, in the Halloween storms (Oct-Nov 2003), there was 140 solar flares and 80+ CMEs in 2 weeks and we survived that... Presumably, the primary focus and concern is whether Earth is now dropping her shields (magnetic field) to permit more energy into Earth's atmosphere during solar storms. A NASA press release, A Giant Breach in Earth's Magnetic Field, reveals that Earth dropped her shields in June 2007 and the worry is that this will continue to happen. OK, this is inconvenient for us, but at this time, cosmic housekeeping has got priority.

Min Min light, the phantom glow that chases confused motorists in Australia

If you ever visit Eastern Australia, there's a rare chance you may encounter the Min Min light, a spectral luminescence that trails the viewer and is often mistaken for a UFO. But what causes this bizarre flickering pursuer?

As evinced by recent news reports, Min Min lights still bedevil motorists and are a fixture of Australia's paranormal culture. The town of Boulia has a particular affinity for the lights, which have been documented prior to European settlement of Australia.

Comment: This article is not particularly very good but at least it discusses a phenomenon that has been historically well documented. This interresting account, one of many that can be found online, is of a farmer literally running into a Min Min light.

Journalist James Oram described the account of a Mr. Allan Camm, who claimed he was once driving a grader on an almost straight stretch of road between Boulia and Dajarra. A "Min Min light" began to follow him, about a quarter of a kilometre behind. Oram quotes Camm as saying, "I aimed, the grader right at it. It was flat ground and I got the grader up to its top speed of about 25 mph. I drove straight into it. It exploded all around me and then I found its secret. The light was made up of millions of glow-worms. In fact, when I got to the pub at Dajarra, I still had the worms in my hair and clothes."

The term Min Min has an unknown meaning and was given by the Aborigines, who advise people to have some respect and leave the Min Min lights alone. Well respected scientists and researchers have investigated 'Light Phenomena' over the years and there are tentative plans to create 30 outdoor laboratories around the world in places where these lights can be easily found. So, unless Professor Pettigrew has set up an outdoor laboratory like the one in Hessdalen, Norway that operates 24/7, utilising the latest state of the art equipment, then his views can only be considered as mere speculation dressed up as science. Siemens to quit nuclear industry

German industrial and engineering conglomerate Siemens is to withdraw entirely from the nuclear industry. The move is a response to the Fukushima nuclear disaster in Japan in March, chief executive Peter Loescher said.

He told Spiegel magazine it was the firm's answer to "the clear positioning of German society and politics for a pullout from nuclear energy". "The chapter for us is closed," he said, announcing that the firm will no longer build nuclear power stations.

China: Villagers protest at Zhejiang solar panel plant

Hundreds of villagers in eastern China have held three days of protests at a solar panel plant over pollution fears. Around 500 people started gathering at Zhejiang Jinko Solar company in Haining city, Zhejiang province, on Thursday.

Some of protesters stormed the factory, overturning several company cars and destroying offices, officials said. Residents in the nearby village of Hongxiao said they became concerned after the deaths of a large number of river fish.

Comment: Well, if you are a regular to this blog, you will know that the place on Earth that has the worse rate of bizarre DNA mutations and abnormalities is China. We can only presume that the reports that are making international news, are not even scratching the surface of the problems caused by the degradation of the environment due to the policy of the Chinese government of permitting unrestrained industrialisation.

Are Genes Our Destiny? Scientists Discover 'Hidden' Code in DNA Evolves More Rapidly Than Genetic Code

ScienceDaily (Sep. 17, 2011) — A "hidden" code linked to the DNA of plants allows them to develop and pass down new biological traits far more rapidly than previously thought, according to the findings of a groundbreaking study by researchers at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies.

The study, published September 16 in the journal Science, provides the first evidence that an organism's "epigenetic" code -- an extra layer of biochemical instructions in DNA -- can evolve more quickly than the genetic code and can strongly influence biological traits. [...]

"Our study shows that it's not all in the genes," said Joseph Ecker, a professor in Salk's Plant Molecular and Cellular Biology Laboratory, who led the research team. "We found that these plants have an epigenetic code that's more flexible and influential than we imagined. There is clearly a component of heritability that we don't fully understand. It's possible that we humans have a similarly active epigenetic mechanism that controls our biological characteristics and gets passed down to our children."

Ecker said the results of the study provide some of the first evidence that the epigenetic code can be rewritten quickly and to dramatic effect. "This means that genes are not destiny," he said. "If we are anything like these plants, our epigenome may also undergo relatively rapid spontaneous change that could have a powerful influence on our biological traits."

"We think these epigenetic events might silence genes when they aren't needed, then turned them back on when external conditions warrant," Ecker said. [The environment is the external switch.]

Comment: This new level of enlightenment comes after arrogant geneticists told people for at least 50 years that they were only a product of inherited DNA and there was nothing they could do about it... this is the so-called Central Dogma of Biology which is now well and truly defunct... Well, the old time religion of the primacy of DNA has now been completely overturned and it seems DNA is controlled by genetic programming that is determined by the environment and for humans that includes our emotions and beliefs...

  The Central Dogma of Biology is a concept for life that has been engraved into my brain since I sat in high-school biology. Superseding that, I have been shoving the central dogma down the throats of every undergraduate student who sits in the courses I have TA'ed. Simply stated, the central dogma encompasses the idea that three types of molecules: DNA, RNA and Amino Acids (proteins), are central to all life. The relationship between the molecules is such that DNA contains a specific code, which is used to create RNA, which is used to create Protein. It is called the "Central Dogma of Biology" because every living organism humans have studied uses this paradigm (with very few exceptions). While according to Jacques Monod, dogma means "a belief that cannot be doubted," you will learn that it should and can be doubted.

Light from a water bottle could brighten millions of poor homes (w/ video)

As simple as it sounds, a one-liter plastic bottle filled with purified water and some bleach could serve as a light bulb for some of the millions of people who live without electricity. Originally developed by MIT students, the "solar bottle bulb" is now being distributed by the MyShelter Foundation to homes throughout the Philippines. The foundation’s goal is to use this alternative source of daylight to brighten one million homes in the country by 2012.

In order to make the water bottles "light up," holes are cut in the metal roofs of homes and a bottle is placed and sealed into each hole so that its lower half emerges from the ceiling. The clear water disperses the light in all directions through refraction, which can provide a luminosity that is equivalent to a 55-watt electric light bulb, according to the MyShelter Foundation. The bleach prevents mold growth so that the bulbs can last for up to five years.

Comment: The video made me cry.... such a simple idea, but it had to come from those with an interest in actually helping others without exploiting them...

Huge Defunct Satellite Falling to Earth Faster Than Expected, NASA Says

NASA space junk experts have refined the forecast for the anticipated death plunge of a giant satellite, with the U.S. space agency now predicting the 6 1/2-ton climate probe will plummet to Earth around Sept. 23, a day earlier than previously reported.

The defunct bus-size spacecraft is NASA's Upper Atmospheric Research Satellite (UARS), which launched in 1991 and was shut down in 2005 after completing its mission. The satellite was expected to fall to Earth sometime this year, with experts initially pegging a weeks-long window between late September and early October, then narrowing it to the last week of this month.

Comment: First of all, I had a shock reading a space weather text book for university students, where it stated that only 500 satellites are operational. So the recent YouTube video showing 13,000 satellites is actually showing you the litter of mostly dead satellites. In fact, I have found an online database that says there are 966 satellites operational, but the French space agency CNES says there are 700 operational, so you can take your pick for what no. is correct... Sigh... We are told here that the recent solar activity has only accelerated the fall of the Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS) as I suspected, but it does make you wonder what the true rate of satellites falling to Earth is, when there are so many uncontrolled dead satellites littering space... Anyway, the concern about people picking up bits of satellite debris must be worthy of some consideration. First of all, I just assumed that the debris would be highly radioactive.... but the next thought is that it might also have bacteria on it that is highly radioactive as bacteria in space mutates quickly and becomes extremely agressive. Interestingly, there is more and more awareness that there is bacteria at the very top of Earth's atmosphere on the edge of space and that suggests that bacteria exists in space too... I am sure there will be souvenir hunters, but these are people who don't know what they are dealing with...

Attaching a nine-volt battery to electrodes on your scalp can speed up the process of learning how to do sequences of button-presses such as learning to play a piece of music on the piano, a study has found.

'In future, we hope to use this, for example, to train sports people faster at tennis or rowing, simply by stimulating their brain,' Professor Johansen-Berg at the University of Oxford told Mail Online today.

'We targeted a specific area of the brain that affects motor function, but is possible that similar technology could be used to make children do better at school - although that obviously raises ethical or moral questions.' [...]

However, the technique is not fool proof. If the men and women were zapped before they played the game, or if the current travelled in the other direction, they did worse.

This has echoes of separate Oxford University research released last year, in which passing a mild electric current through the brain improved the mathematical ability of students. But shocking the wrong part of the mind reduced the guinea pigs' numerical skills to the level of a six-year-old.

Comment: All the research into brains being zapped with electric and magnetic fields via electrodes is starting to worry me... Due to my research, I knew that people were influenced by a vacillating EM environmental fields if they were unbalanced emotionally, but I am really starting to wonder after seeing so many strange reports that I am now thinking that people can be zapped by stray fields and that is why there are so many studies taking place... What's more, the powers that be know that the electromagnetic environmental of Earth is now full on chaos, but most people don't...

Nobel Prize-Winning Physicist Resigns Over Global Warming

The global warming theory left him out in the cold. Dr. Ivar Giaever, a former professor with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the 1973 winner of the Nobel Prize in physics, abruptly announced his resignation Tuesday, Sept. 13, from the premier physics society in disgust over its officially stated policy that "global warming is occurring."

The official position of the American Physical Society (APS) supports the theory that man's actions have inexorably led to the warming of the planet, through increased emissions of carbon dioxide.

Giaever does not agree -- and put it bluntly and succinctly in the subject line of his email, reprinted at Climate Depot, a website devoted to debunking the theory of man-made climate change. "I resign from APS," Giaever wrote.

Comment: I am surprised at Fox News for pointing this out, even citing Climate Depot, which is a den for serious climate skeptics ... Dr. Ivar Giaever is one of those old fashioned scientists who like to see old fashioned experiments (Gedanken experiments are not good enough) and they like old fashion observations. Apparently, these old people think committing outright fraud is not science...

WWMT-TV reports the facility in Covert Township was shut down just before 3 p.m. Friday. The lowest of four emergency classification levels was declared. The classification means plant workers were notified and were resolving the problem. Officials say the shutdown poses no risk to the public and that no radioactive materials were released. A U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission inspection was held at the Van Buren County plant last month after a water pump component failed. The plant is owned by New Orleans-based Entergy Corp.

It looks like Palisades Nuclear Plant was not even on the list of Massachusetts Representative Edward Markey’s letter to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, August 29, 2011 (see archives), but at the time. there was media attention given to issues related to the 5.9 Virginia earthquake.

The earthquake that hit Virginia and much of the east coast yesterday was felt at Michigan’s Palisades nuclear power plant, where a federal regulator has warned that the spent fuel storage is vulnerable to damage from quakes.

The 5.9 magnitude quake was centered few miles from Dominion’s North Anna nuclear power plant in Lousia County, Virginia. The reactors there were forced into a hot shutdown after the plant lost electricity, officials said, and diesel powered back-up generators functioned to cool the reactors and spent fuel pools until power was restored. It is not yet clear what physical damage the plant may have sustained.

Entergy’s 40-year old Palisades plant on Lake Michigan near South Haven was among at least a dozen nuclear power plants that notified the Nuclear Regulatory Commission of “unusual events” related to the quake.

According to an organization that tracks UFO reports, this summer has been an especially busy period for UFO sightings. The Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) noted that sightings increased over the past six weeks, with some states more than doubling their normal numbers.

Are we on the cusp of an alien invasion? Or maybe people just have more time on their hands to spot — and report — strange things in the sky? [Yes, but they are not aliens and they have every right to be here too!]

Comment: As I have been saying for the last three years or so, the dramatic increase in UFO reports is because we are experiencing a so-called 'dimensional shift' or the 'veil lifting' as it has been called in the metaphysical community. No new trial for James Arthur Ray

PRESCOTT - Without elaboration, Judge Warren Darrow on Wednesday denied a new trial for motivational speaker James Arthur Ray.

Ray, 53, was convicted in late June on three counts of negligent homicide in the deaths of Kirby Brown, James Shore and Liz Neuman after an October 2009 sweat lodge ceremony at a retreat center near Sedona. He faces the possibility of as long as nine years in prison.[...]

Wednesday's hearing was set as a scheduling conference for a weeklong pre-sentence hearing that is to take place next week prior to sentencing on Sept. 26. Ray was not in court, and his attorneys appeared telephonically, as did Yavapai County Attorney Sheila Polk.

During next week's proceedings, the defense plans to present as many as 19 witnesses on Ray's behalf. The state, Polk said, will have seven witnesses and 11 representatives or friends of the victims who wish to address the court prior to sentencing.

Comment: The judge has been mistreated throughout this trial by JR's defence team, so I don't think he will be doing JR any favours in the sentencing either... Soon, JR might have lots of time to ponder the Law of Attraction and all that popular but erroneous metaphysical jazz...

Oreo the geep rams genetic barrier

HALF sheep, half goat? You've got to be kidding. That is what farmer Terry Crompton thought when he discovered his ewe had just given birth to a hybrid.

While it sounds bizarre, the genetic fluke is officially known as a "geep". "One of the boys told me the lamb had arrived," Mr Crompton said. "It was dark, and I went into the paddock looking for her mother and she had this little black and white bundle.

"We don't get black and white lambs, and as soon as I felt it I knew it didn't have wool, it had hair. "I said its father must be a goat." Proving to be more than just the black sheep of the family, the geep, named Oreo, was born to a sheep but is a genetic throwback from its father - a ram with goat genes.

Comment: This is a genetic throwback, they don't happen often. The real issue is whether this is on the increase due to genetic material being re-arranged by the environment in order for new variants to appear to comply with new universal directives. Evolutionary biologists, cannot explain why at times of rapid evolutionary change some species die off quickly and others appear just as quickly. I am not a biologist but we are now being told that there are processes that allow dormant mutant DNA to be quickly invoked to cope with rapid changes in the environment. This has been downplayed because it completely contradicts Darwinism, but if you check the facts, many biologists now realise that was just some serious speculation. So, what about humans? Well, at the moment, there is very little interest, but humans are on the hitlist for rapidly evolutionary change too...

A Pileus Iridescent Cloud Over Ethiopia

Explanation: Yes, but how many dark clouds have a multicolored lining? Pictured, behind this darker cloud, is a pileus iridescent cloud, a group of water droplets that have a uniformly similar size and so together diffract different colors of sunlight by different amounts. The above image was taken just after the picturesque sight was noticed by chance by a photographer in Ethiopia. A more detailed picture of the same cloud shows not only many colors, but unusual dark and wavy bands whose origins are thought related to wave disturbances in the cloud.

Comment: Incredible! However you need to look at the detailed picture, it reminds me of the structure found in noctilucent clouds but then that becomes a major puzzle... Again, the water droplets are a slight diversion from the truth that the water droplets form on condensation nuclei that are most likely cosmic dust with very special properties, usually atmospheric scientists will only admit to ice crysals and not bother mentioning how those ice crystals are formed.

Meteors swarm over USA West Coast?

Thousands of startled people witnessed what first reports are calling a meteor shower over large parts of Arizona and Southern California. Quite literally thousands of reports are passing through twitter feeds under the search term/hashtag #meteor.

Others are saying that it is no meteor and resembles more a craft under intelligent control - but whetever it is - all agree it's huge. [...]

9:49pm California time - Contradictory reports are coming through - Some Tweets are clearly stating they saw the 'meteor' travel West whilst others are saying they saw it travel East - it would appear most likely that there are several meteors. One report suggests that a 'large' meteor has crashed in the desert in Arizona and the night sky there is glowing 'orange'.

Comment: Please note: satellites crashing to Earth was explained in the Discovery Channel documentary-drama Perfect Disaster: Solar Storm (April, 2006) as a sign that space weather had become much worse! This is a summary report with videos, the image icon is a roman candle firework.

NASA's head of Near Earth Objects Program says it was a fragment of an asteroid, probably the size of a volley ball. Hmmm... I wonder if it damaged any satellites before it entered Earth's atmosphere?

LOS ANGELES (CBS) — Residents in and around the Southland and southwest US Wednesday reported seeing a series of strange lights up in the sky. Viewers described shooting lights, with many colors, including many reports saying the object or objects “had a tail.”

The first reports came from Riverside County around 7 p.m. Wednesday. Within a half hour of the first reports, several Orange County residents also reported seeing the lights. After about an hour, reports were coming from all over the West. Most say the lights are “blue and green.” A few described the lights as yellow or orange [...]

Terr: “I am in south Ontario. My daughter and I were in the driveway as we saw the fiery yellow and orange falling. We thought maybe it was a firework of some sort. But wasn’t. It was very bright and pretty big in size. We lost sight of it behind trees.”

Comment: Well, from the reports and eye witness accounts and video provided here this is certainly a major puzzle, but based on descriptions I decided to use an image icon of a roman candle firework. However, it does seem that this might be a satellite crashing to Earth (again), but not necessarily the heavily reported UARS satellite which was expected to crash at the end of September. The unconfirmed report of the military blocking off an area in Las Vegas is very interesting and if true, this is becoming a very familiar scenario, see archives. So, if this was the UARS satellite, then the fear that it could fall in a populated area was justified. Anyway, I believe the media video provided in this story is unrelated and simply shows some bright orbs floating around in the sky. Whatever, it does seem like it was a very busy night for the local news media, with various people seeing what they think is a meteor, but others reporting what appear to be orbs too! It's safe to say that most of us have come to accept, if not embrace, the abundance of wireless technology in our everyday lives. Not so for certain Americans who believe they suffer from Electromagnetic Hypersensitivity, or EHS.

According to the BBC, five percent of Americans think that exposure to electromagnetic fields created by Wi-Fi and mobile phones are causing them to suffer headaches, muscle spasms, burning skin and chronic pain. And some of these people are seeking refuge in the secluded mountains of Appalachia.

Mysterious booming sounds are occasionally heard on the North Carolina coast, often powerful enough to rattle windows and doors. They cannot be explained by thunderstorms or any manmade sources — their source is a mystery. [...]

"Earwitnesses" described sounds like booming cannons or falling stones accompanying small to moderate earthquakes in England from 1880 to 1916. In 1975, U.S. Geological Survey researchers managed to record both acoustic and seismic signals of an earthquake swarm in California, finding that three earthquakes with magnitudes ranging from 2.0 to 2.8 produced sounds that began within 0.02 seconds of the arrival of seismic waves at the scientists' station. Similar results were seen with quakes in the French Pyrenees in 2004.

All in all, audible sounds from earthquakes might be perceived even when shaking is not, Hill suggested. For instance, while earthquakes are rare in coastal North Carolina, they are relatively common in the Charleston area of South Carolina, the site of the 1886 magnitude 7.6 Charleston quake, and the Catskill Mountains that Seneca Lake is located within do host low-level earthquake activity. Locals could be hearing an earthquake that is too small for them to feel.

Comment: The article suggests that if earthquakes are caused by underground lightning, then these booms are the equivalent of underground thunder.

Every nuclear power plant operates in a near-meltdown state

All nuclear power plants are operated in a near-meltdown status. They operate at very high heat, relying on nuclear fission to boil water that produces steam to drive the turbines that generate electricity. Critically, the nuclear fuel is prevented from melting down through the steady circulation of coolants which are pushed through the cooling system using very high powered electric pumps.

If you stop the electric pumps, the coolant stops flowing and the fuel rods go critical (and then melt down). This is what happened in Fukushima, where the melted fuel rods dropped through the concrete floor of the containment vessels, unleashing enormous quantities of ionizing radiation into the surrounding environment. The full extent of the Fukushima contamination is not even known yet, as the facility is still emitting radiation.

Comment: Hurrah! Finally, some people are waking up.... Unfortunately, it has taken Fukushima and a raft of other US and now French nuclear 'incidents' to get people realising that the nuclear industry is extremely vulnerable in a high energy plasma environment. A major solar blast and corresponding geomagnetic storm on Earth could mean some serious doom, but we must consider that major earthquakes, tornadoes and floods act like proxies and their effect is directly related to the increased energy on the planet. What is so amazing is all the talk of the Age of Aquarius with no inkling for what it would really mean for society. Well, we are now finding out.

Comment: Really, as I have written many times, the world's technological infrastructure is crumbling because we have not bothered to understand the signs of the times. Now, it has become obvious that the powers that be have really messed up, so a front man like Al Gore in self-destruct mode is a really good proxy for monitoring the desperation. Al Gore did sum this up, and state:

DISH Network experiencing satellite outage

DISH Network's Ciel 2 satellite (at 129 degrees), which carries many HD local and national channels including WTHR HD and all other Indianapolis local HD channels to DISH customers, has shut down. Eyewitness News spoke with DISH Network's operations center and they have no idea what the problem is or when their HD satellite might be back in operation.

The issue seems to be a pretty major nationwide DISH HD outage and may be prolonged.

Comment: Hmmm... there has been geomagnetic storm activity for the last few days and it looks like a satellite might have been knocked out... See the sidebar on the News of the Imbalance blog, for the K-index that has already calmed down considerably.

Windsor rumble intensifies: 'the loudest it's ever been'

WINDSOR, Ont. — It seemed as if the mysterious rumblings had subsided, but Sunday night through early Monday the low-pitch humming came back with a vengeance, according to Windsor residents.

"It was the loudest it's ever been," Grete MaKenzie said about the inexplicable rumblings she and thousands of Windsorites have reported hearing in the past eight months.

The 61-year-old said the noise woke her at home about 5:30 a.m. Monday. "Last night it was really bad," said MaKenzie. "We went outside and it was almost like it was vibrating your eardrums."

Comment: Well, there has been some interesting comments over at SOTT.net concerning 'geophysical electrophonics.', that are certainly worth a read. However, I don't think this is related to fireballs, but rather due to space weather, where plasmas are literally screaming in from space and there might be some kind of resonance response with the Earth generating Extra Low or Very Low Frequency radio emissions. Yet, the description of a 'rumble' suggests an escalation from previous reports or the 'hum' described by scientists who since the 1990s, have reported detecting new Earth frequencies (see archives for more info).

The rise in MUFON reports - for some states - appears to have begun sometime in July 2011 and continued throughout August 2011 - and many states saw their average monthly report numbers double or triple (or more) in August

Comment: MUFON already has a bad reputation for their lack of interest in solving the UFO enigma. The pathetic excuses here given for the increase in UFO activity is highly predictable. Yes, we have had UFO waves in the past, but I believe that we are in transition to a new higher level of UFO/UAP activity. This means that we should be interested in the overall trend. If anything, the recent boom might be related to solar outbursts delivering more aetheric energy.

Comment: The real question is: why now? Let's wait to see if this keeps happening because the whole planet is now saturated with physical but invisible 'aetheric' energies that can only be partially detected. (Definition: aetheric means invisible to the eye, but partially visible in the infrared part of the electromagnetic spectrum. Metaphysical sources claimed many many decades ago that celestial energy would be arriving too.) We do know that since the 1990s, scientists have been busy trying to understand the impact of space weather and great efforts have been made to understand dusty plasmas and many experiments have been carried out on the International Space Station. However, due to the acceleration of space weather and Earth's weak defenses, the planet is now in complete upheaval with clashing energies coming and going. So, scientists might easily find out the cause of this explosion, but explaining it to the general public in plain language might not happen.

Mr Jankovoy said he came across the spectacular shot on a recent trip to Ghasa in Nepal. The 23-year-old travels across the world to capture his stunning shots from Mount Everest to remote areas of Ukraine.

He said: 'For the last couple of years I've seen a lot of rare and interesting light phenomena like halos, convex clouds, mirages, brocken spectres and fog bows. 'But it was the first time I saw this phenomenon and I was completely astonished.'

Mr Jankovoy needed help identifying the bizarre atmospheric occurrence, which is formed when sunlight refracts off horizontal ice crystals in high-level cirrus clouds. The sun must be very high in the sky and it can not be seen at a latitude above 55degrees north (which includes Scotland and much of Canada) or below 55 degrees south.

Comment: This photograph does not even seem real.... The Daily Mail have done some research and cites the ubiquitous ice crystals that I have commented on over and over again. However, I am not satisfied with the explanation. According to the experts at www.atoptics.co.uk this is just a very large halo... We read:

It is a very large halo and always parallel to the horizon. Often only fragments are visible where there happen to be cirrus clouds - the individual patches of cirrus are then lit with colour that can be mistaken for iridescence.

The main problem is that these are NOT cirrus clouds, see Cloud Chart. Also, according to the experts at www.atoptics.co.uk, if this was a Circumhorizon Arc then at the latitude of Ghasa in Nepal, 28^o North and 84^o East, this is not so ultra rare. Basically, if these were caused by ice crystals then there must be other enviromental or geomagnetic circumstances that have not been explained. From my book Rare Halos, Mirages, Anomalous Rainbows and Related Electromagnetic Phenomena by William R. Corliss, it states there is a possibility that reflection from ice and snow might be involved in the effect.

One person has been reported killed and four injured in an explosion at a nuclear waste processing plant in France. An oven reportedly exploded at the Marcoule nuclear site near Nimes in the south of France. The site produces MOX fuel, which recycles plutonium from nuclear weapons, and is partly used by the French nuclear power company Areva.

Part of the process involves firing superheated pellets of plutonium and uranium in an oven to reduce them in size to make them easier to store. Local newspaper Midi Libre reported that one person had been killed and four others injured, including one seriously, in the explosion at 11.45am (10.45 BST).

The papers said the body of one male worker at the plant had been "found carbonised", but it added that there was no evidence that the explosion had "caused any radioactive leak".

Where are the Roswell-like events today, or a Socorro, or a Rendlesham, or a Hill experience, a Travis Walton episode, or a Pascagoula?

Comment: I think it is interesting that some ufologists are complaining about the shift in the type of UFOs and the associated experiences reported by 'contactees'. I can only repeat that reputable metaphysicsal sources have made it clear that malevolent entities cannot hang around in the new high energy environment and presumably have been forced to leave, but we are still attracting a lot of plasma entities, but they are not the shape shifting 'deceptive' types. By the way, I don't think some of the strange 'disguises' can be classified as deceptive, especially for the newbies on the planet, they simply don't know any better, but the Russians have been very helpful in providing us with news of the increased traffic. Incidentally, don't you think reports of floating skyscrappers are just hilarious? Anyway, I believe this is the reason why some ufologists are bemoaning the change as they have no interest in understanding that most genuine UFOs belong to a Shadow Biosphere. Only some of these entities can and will interact with humans in various ways but it is being recognised (see archives) that there has been a change in this interaction. Really, little balls of light that like to play tag with airplanes are not that exciting for some folks, but I am sure this will continue...

UFO sighting in Moscow, Russia; Multiple objects glowed like orange fire [video]

On Friday, September 9, 2011, an amazing UFO sighting took place in Moscow, Russia. This UFO sighting was caught on video by 41-year-old UFO Hunter Oleg Tarabanov. Several large UFOs were recorded near Falcon Mountain. The objects appeared to glow from within with a fiery orange light.

The video of this event, as seen on Online Paranormal TV, initially shows one brightly lit UFO that seemed to pulsate with orange and yellow colors. It appeared spherical at first, but seemed less symmetrical when the cameraman zoomed in on it. The object was more than just a tiny pinprick of light in the night sky. It seemed closer and more substantial than some other objects caught on tape.

Comment: I can understand the many people cannot integrate because that requires the brain to be literally re-wired and that is part of the human evolutionary process, but for goodness sake, how many neural connections are required to work out that the glowing orbs are a known plasma phenomena? Why cannot ufologists do some basic research and work this out?

NRC rejects quick restart at Virginia nuclear plant

(Reuters) - Nuclear regulators shot down an ambitious five-week timeline proposed to restart Dominion's (D.N) two North Anna reactors in Virginia during a public meeting on Thursday to discuss the Aug. 23 earthquake that knocked the station offline.

The 1,806-megawatt station has remained shut since it automatically tripped last month after the unusually strong 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck roughly 12 miles (19 km) from the plant in Mineral, Virginia.

Comment: Japan & United States seem to be demonstrating just how dangerous nuclear power becomes when confronted by major Earth changing events. North Anna was not even designed to withstand the shaking of a 5.9. earthquake, that really tells you something... Such evidence comes from the accumulation of layers of ancient snow, which compact to form the ice-sheets we see today. Indonesian Officials Looks Up To Save Lives During Future Tsunami Events

City officials in the Indonesian city of Padang have come up with an unusual strategy to save the lives of its citizens in the event of a tsunami: multi-storey buildings.

The city on the west coast of Sumatra Island is in one of Indonesia’s most quake-prone regions, where a 7.6 magnitude quake in 2009 killed more than 1,000 people and destroyed large parts of the city. “If we try to build just horizontal evacuation roads, they won’t be enough. But multi-storey buildings are one way to save the people,” Dedi Henidal, director of Padang’s Natural Disaster Mitigation Board, told IRIN. Hundreds of thousands would be killed if Padang were hit by a large tsunami and there were no evacuation towers, say disaster management experts. [...]

The escape towers have been designed with civil engineers from the University of Kyoto, specializing in quake-resistant buildings, as well as Indonesian geophysicists and seismologists, says Henidal. His agency is running tests to check whether the buildings can withstand quakes stronger than magnitude nine.

Disaster management experts in Jakarta say the success of these evacuation points depends on whether Padang’s Disaster Mitigation Board builds according to the specifications developed by the national technical experts.

Comment: Yes, but we are seeing more and more earthquakes in places that don't normally have them and Germany has been rattling too in the last few weeks with reports that magma is on the move. I think this suggests that there is a build-up of telluric currents and the electric universe view is that earthquakes are just underground lightning. There are other scientists with similar views, but Friedemann Freund, from Nasa Ames Research Center, developed the scientific theory that when rocks are compressed they act like batteries, producing electric currents. This is NOT related to the piezoelectric effect, because this only applies to rocks such as granites, which contain a high percentage of quartz. Giant pixels pasted onto tanks can now sense the general pattern of infrared energy, or heat, distributed around a bucolic mountain meadow or windy desert and camouflage the vehicle accordingly, so heat-spying eyes will be none the wiser.

Such adaptive cloaking has been on the wishlist of world governments for decades, but most attempts so far have been limited by cost and technical problems, like not being able to change the cloak fast enough to be convincing on a moving vehicle or failing to stand up to enemy fire. There aren’t a lot of details available about this implementation, called Adaptiv and developed by BAE Systems in part for the Swedish government, but a press release from the company says that not only can the pixels adapt quickly, they use relatively little energy and can serve as armor as well.

Comment: So, the billion dollar question is: are these adaptive cloaking 'tiles' just picking up ambient energy in the air that registers in the infrared part of the electromagnetic spectrum? Funnily enough, plasma entities do exactly the same thing to create a cloak of plasma before they fly off into space, it is necessary because space is highly radioactive.... Of course, these entities can switch off and go invisible too...

Upgrades to smarter technology, which have been put off for years because of the cost to utilities and customers, would likely have kept the failure of power systems from spreading across such a large region, experts said Friday. [...]

“Out of all the major blackouts that have happened in the past 50 or 60 years, the majority have occurred in the past 10 or 12 years,” he said.

Comment: I was not researching space weather in 2003 and after 7 years, this is the first time that I heard that 55 million people in the United States lost their power supply in one go.... See wikipedia Northeast Blackout of 2003 Please note: the real issue with a major space weather event is hundreds of transformers being burnt out at the same time and the authorities not being able to replace them quickly. It would mean, weeks, months and even years for some to get back an electricity supply if authorities do not have the opportunity to take down the grid before lightning from space strikes. At the moment, with reports of small transformers blowing up on a regular basis, people should be grateful for the warnings so that there is enough time to start making some major changes.

Details of the process, which can be improved and patented, are published in the current issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. The implications could eventually benefit sites forever changed by nuclear contamination, said Gemma Reguera, MSU microbiologist.

Comment: Well, it seems that soon these micro munchers will have to be put to work because the planet is becoming more and more contaminated... This is a Mother Earth solution that has been ignored since the 1980s when the discovery was first made. Simply, using this method of processing of nuclear waste would be too cheap an option and more costly money making options were preferred despite the risk to many lives. However, as our world faces an ever increasing number of Earth changing events that will generate many more nuclear accidents, (the United States seems to have had many nuclear power plants at risk since the disaster in Fukushima), this is now about the survival of the human race, as there is no where to hide from radiation.

The magnetic canopy of sunspot 1283 has an unstable "beta-gamma-delta" configuration that harbors energy for more powerful eruptions. NOAA forecasters estimate a 75% chance of M-flares and a 25% chance of X-flares during the next 24 hours.

Massive blackout hits California, Arizona and Mexico

A massive power cut has caused blackouts in the US states of California and Arizona, and in Mexico. Five million people were without power on Thursday, with many likely to remain out of service for another day or two.

There was traffic chaos. San Diego was the worst affected city, where all outbound flights were cancelled. An investigation is looking into why the blackout spread from Arizona, where a piece of equipment was switched off. Extreme heat may be a factor.

CRESST uncovers hint of dark matter

Dark matter is thought to make up more than 80% of the universe’s matter. However, it is invisible and has so far only been inferred by the gravitational pull that it exerts on normal matter. Physicists think that it probably takes the form of weakly interacting massive particles, or WIMPs.

To spot these WIMPs directly, researchers have built detectors in underground labs where the low background noise ought to allow any signals to stand out. The biggest underground lab is at Gran Sasso, a mountain in central Italy, home to various dark-matter experiments such as DAMA, XENON and CRESST. For just over a decade, the team behind the DAMA experiment has claimed to see a WIMP signal – an annual modulation that would fit in with the Earth orbiting with and against the prevailing “wind” of dark matter in our galaxy. Last year, the CoGeNT collaboration, based in the Soudan mine in Minnesota, US, reported hundreds of blips in their detectors that could also be WIMPs.

Comment: This is interesting, so now scientists are talking 'the about prevailing “wind” of dark matter in our galaxy'. Well, that confirms the other research I have read where physicists believe that this 'wind' of dark matter increases every 10,000 years or so and changes Earth's orbit ever so slightly...

Scour Earth for traces of intelligent aliens

If smart aliens exist, they may have visited Earth millions of years ago – and left signs of their technological prowess that should be cheap and easy for us to detect. [Extremely poor logic... if they are truely alien, they might have no use for technology... ] So says astrophysicist Paul Davies of Arizona State University in Tempe. Traditionally, the search for extraterrestrial intelligence (SETI) has focused on listening for deliberate dispatches in radio signals. But in 50 years of searching, this costly approach has drawn a blank. [That's because they have been looking for signs of an 'advanced' technological society, not entities that are truely extraterrestrial. [...]

If aliens did come to our cosmic neighbourhood, it was probably hundreds of millions of years ago. Any "footprints" would have to last for eons to be detected by us. That means a manufactured slab of rock in the style of 2001: A Space Odyssey (pictured) would be a poor candidate: it would erode, or at least get buried before we came to notice it.

Comment: What do these scientists think the orbs and UAPs are about then? There is a whole Shadow Biosphere of plasma entities on this planet and real attention must be paid to the orbs dancing around in our skies in broad daylight, but these so-called scientists are oblivious! Massive blackout hits California, Arizona and Mexico

A massive power cut has caused blackouts in the US states of California and Arizona, and in Mexico. Five million people were without power on Thursday, with many likely to remain out of service for another day or two.

There was traffic chaos. San Diego was the worst affected city, where all outbound flights were cancelled. An investigation is looking into why the blackout spread from Arizona, where a piece of equipment was switched off. Extreme heat may be a factor.

Comment: There are reports that the electric companies are trying to blame an employee for a poor infrastructure design that can cut the power to 5 million people in one fell swoop. In reality, how can internal maintenance procedure allow such a MASSIVE outage to occur? Whatever, I wonder how many people have died in this debarcle?

The Southern California blackout was triggered after a 500-kilovolt high-voltage line from Arizona to California tripped out of service, officials said Thursday afternoon.

The transmission outage severed the flow of imported power into areas of Southern California, said California Independent System Operator, known as ISO, which oversees the state's electrical grid.

Officials at ISO said they were working with utilities in Southern California, Arizona and Mexico to restore power. Officials said the blackouts could last for hours.

Blackout shuts down San Onofre nuclear reactors

The blackout affecting large swaths of San Diego County led to a shutdown of two reactors at the San Onofre nuclear power plant. Gil Alexander, a spokesman for Southern California Edison, said the power outage did not cause any safety issues. Alexander said a fluctuation in power caused the reactors to shut down at 3:38 p.m. but that the overall plant continues to have power. He said the system worked as it was supposed to during a loss of power.

If truth be told, magnetic interference with the brain makes it impossible to lie. At least, that’s what a group of Estonian researchers are claiming.

They found that when magnets were applied to either the right or left side of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex, found directly behind your forehead, it made you lie or tell the truth, depending on which side was stimulated.

When magnetic interference was directed at another part of the brain, the parietal lobe, the subjects’ decision-making remain unchanged. [...]

Remarkably, those stimulated on the left side fibbed a great deal more, those on the right showed much more honesty. Scientists last year found that magnets can also be used to disrupt the brain’s ‘moral compass’.

Something New On the Sun: SDO Spots a Late Phase in Solar Flares

The sun's surface dances. Giant loops of magnetized solar material burst up, twist, and fall back down. Some erupt, shooting radiation flares and particles out into space. Forced to observe this dance from afar, scientists use all the tools at their disposal to look for patterns and connections to discover what causes these great explosions. Mapping these patterns could help scientists predict the onset of space weather that bursts toward Earth from the sun, interfering with communications and Global Positioning System (GPS) signals.

Analysis of 191 solar flares since May 2010 by NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) has recently shown a new piece in the pattern: some 15 percent of the flares have a distinct "late phase flare" some minutes to hours later that has never before been fully observed. This late phase of the flare pumps much more energy out into space than previously realized.

"We're starting to see all sorts of new things," says Phil Chamberlin, deputy project scientist for SDO at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. "We see a large increase in emissions a half-hour to several hours later, that is sometimes even larger than the original, traditional phases of the flare. In one case on November 3, 2010, measuring only the effects of the main flare would mean underestimating the amount of energy shooting into Earth's atmosphere by 70 percent.

Comment: I would call these new observations very surprising.... I thought solar physicists had been intensively watching the sun and monitoring the impact on the ionosphere... Of course, the simple explanation is that this is really something new... and it was not missed because there was previously nothing to miss.... A recent press release announced the "discovery" of a planet in orbit around a pulsar that is thought to have once been a star, but is now a planetary body composed of something similar to compressed carbon, or diamond.

The reason for the supposed density and composition assumptions is that the "planet" was seen in an orbit around the pulsar that is deemed impossible to consensus astrophysicists. As announced by the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy in Bonn, Germany, pulsar J1719-1438 rotates more than 10,000 times per minute, has a mass of about 1.4 times that of our Sun, but is only 20 kilometers in radius. What is it about the planet's orbit that causes the assumption it is crystalline and extremely dense?

Comment: OK, I just like the title.... but we have some technical details that explain that the high levels of speculation involved in the sensation headlines of diamond planets.

Earthquake prediction still stymies scientists

Despite decades of research, earthquake prediction remains elusive. As much as society would like scientists to tell us when a jolt is coming, mainstream seismologists are generally pessimistic about ever having that ability.

They lived through the checkered history of earthquake prediction, filled with passioned debates, failed oracles and the enduring search for warning signs that may portend a powerful quake. The Earth so far has refused to give up its secrets.

In recent years, however, a more hopeful camp has emerged, pushed by researchers using satellites who say it may be possible to someday predict earthquakes from space and others who think they can tease out signals in rocks. The two schools of thought swapped notes during a two-day meeting in Los Angeles weeks before a relatively mild magnitude-5.8 rattled the Eastern Seaboard.

Comment: My interest here is that the signals that scientists are recording in space believed to be earthquake precursor signals, is the same extremely low frequency energy that metaphysical sources have claimed is harmful to the human energy field. Steps are needed to to protect electrodynamic templates that are only partially aetheric, so that DNA processing is not impaired. In this regard, there are some strange events that can be linked to major earthquakes and the best known is in southern China, where tom cats grew wings in a month. This can only be considered as anecdotal evidence, but there is other less interesting science that suggests biological organisms are affected by these earthquake precursor signals.

UFO sightings are increasingly being common and are being reported with increased frequency. And the best thing is that these sightings are not just confined to a particular part of the world. One day a UFO is sighted in Europe, the other day it is sighted in China and then in US and other parts of the world. [...]

A report in China Daily says that as recently as last fortnight, a huge UFO was seen orbiting the sky over Shanghai, the Chinese business capital. The daily said that the object was seen by several pilots who took off from the airport at a particular time. Some months ago a UFO was spotted hovering over an Islamic shrine, the Dome of the Rock on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount.

Since then several video of the incident has also surfaced online. This incident has sparked a debate among many people. Have we finally evidence of UFOs? This and other questions are being debated furiously. But for many it is too early to jump to conclusion. Despite the video evidence nothing can be said for sure. A veteran investigator has questioned the authenticity of these videos.

[...] A number of people spotted orange lights over Manitoba and parts of Ontario.. Rutkowski says most of the orange lights turned out to be paper Chinese Lanterns. Rutkowski does say they are still trying to determine what was spotted over Selkirk on April 24th this year.. He says it was described as a slow moving, low flying, ball of flame, and consistent with a small plane. Rutkowski says a police officer took pictures of the object and they are still assessing the photographs but they have determined it WASN'T a plane..

Comment: So, why don't reporters ask scientists that have been researching magnetic or magnetospheric plasmoids?

Huge Defunct Satellite to Plunge to Earth Soon, NASA Says

Heads up! That's the word from NASA today (Sept. 7) given the impending re-entry of a 6.5-ton satellite through Earth's atmosphere.

The huge Upper Atmosphere Research Satellite (UARS) is expected to re-enter Earth's atmosphere in an uncontrolled fall in late September or early October. Much of the spacecraft is expected to burn up during re-entry, but some pieces are expected to make it intact to the ground, NASA officials said.

The U.S. space agency will be taking measures to inform the public about the pieces of the spacecraft that are expected to survive re-entry. [...] That appraisal indicated a surviving mass of 1,170 pounds (532 kilograms) falling within a debris footprint length of some 500 miles (800 kilometers). "The risk to public safety or property is extremely small, and safety is NASA's top priority," noted a NASA website dedicated to the re-entry. "Since the beginning of the Space Age in the late-1950s, there have been no confirmed reports of an injury resulting from re-entering space objects. Nor is there a record of significant property damage resulting from a satellite re-entry." Nonetheless, there is a chance that pieces of debris from the satellite will crash in areas accessible to the public.

Comment: More space junk falling out of the sky, I am wondering if it is related to all the recent satellite failures, but it is more likely that the recent serious bursts of solar flares with extreme ultra-violet radiation will have caused some unanticipated satellite drag hence the quick shortening of the lifespan of satellites in space. Your wedding ring, the gold chain around your neck… even the platinum in your catalytic converter. For all of these you can thank a slew of meteorites that pelted Earth around 3.9 billion years ago, says new research.

Certain metals like gold, platinum, nickel, tungsten and iridium are attracted to iron, which comprises the Earth's core. So when the Earth first formed as a molten mass, all of these elements should have migrated to the core, leaving the outer layers of Earth stripped of its precious metals.

Comment: Of course, this is complete speculation. I would imagine that some time in the future, it will be obvious that catalytic energies are delivered to Earth as Space Weather at times of major evolutionary change. Interestingly, we have at least one maverick scientist who is literally extracting tiny amounts of gold, literally from the air, something I wrote about in my book... Anyway, how Earth got certain elements is a major area of interest to geoscientists and there have been many related articles about the drizzle of nanodiamonds that supposedly fell when a comet shattered. Logic dictates that for nanodiamonds to drizzle down for months and months, it would have had to have been a massive comet or a long cometary debris train, so the idea does seem very unlikely.... Yet, there is plenty of proof that in Earth's long history, there have been many major Space Weather events, just like we are experiencing now.

'Tornadoes will batter Britain', says forecaster

Cancel that late summer stay-cation! Tornadoes are set to batter Britain in the coming week or so, with winds of up to 65mph predicted this month, according to some weather forecasters.

Persistent and torrential rain, along with powerful winds is being predicted, and forecasters from Positive Weather Solutions say that parts of Britain will also be at risk of tornadoes - especially in the southern parts of the Midlands and down towards the south, known to some forecasters as 'tornado alley'.

Plant has evolved a specialist bird perch

New research sheds light on the world's most specialised bird perch. The researchers suspect that the vertical, branchless stem of a South African plant - locally called the Rat's Tail - has evolved to encourage pollinating birds to visit its flowers.

The birds hang upside down from this perch and fertilise the plant when they thrust their beaks into the red flowers to drink nectar. The international team reports the findings in the Annals of Botany.

Plants go to great lengths to attract animals to pollinate them; they seduce insects, birds and small mammals with colourful, shapely, sweet-smelling flowers. Some plants even wave at passing pollinators.

Comment: We are living at a time of rapid evolutionary change, there will be many wonders... It seems here that the botantists are telling us that plants are conscious, but then research has been telling us this for decades.

Statistically, every year roughly 1,400 meteorites of pebble size and larger fall somewhere on Earth's lands. But few of these are ever found — and even fewer (about 3%) are actually seen as they arrive. Because they're rare, these witnessed falls are especially prized both by scientists (because the stones are fresh and unweathered) and by meteorite collectors (they command higher prices).

As it happens, a bunch of meteorites fell from the sky over east-central Africa on July 16th, and only now are details of this extraterrestrial special delivery coming to light. [...]

All told, meteorites fell in four different villages. The fall will likely be known officially as Kihum Wiri, the place where the largest pieces were found. An analysis by researcher Laurence Garvie at Arizona State University indicates that these are ordinary chondrites, the most common meteorite type.

So far, more than 30 pounds (14 kg) have been scooped up. "I paid either for stones or for workers and supervisors to monitor the workers, money none of them could refuse," Farmer explains. "Most of them got a year or years of salary for stones worthless to them. It changed their lives."

Comment: I reported this at the time, so it looks like this was indeed a major event, presumably, this was an asteroid breaking up on impact with Earth's atmosphere. Wow.... there will be more to come too...

The two-month-old - part of a litter born on a farm in Deshengtang, Jilin province, northern China - can use both his mouths to eat and appears otherwise normal, say his owners.

Farmer Li Zhenjun and his wife Yu Wanfen named the piglet Xiaobao - or 'Babe' in English - after the movie about an extraordinary talking pig.

Comment: It's a constant stream of reports about bizarre DNA mutations coming from China... It makes you wonder whether Chinese officials actually worry that something is very wrong with the environment.... I don't see this as evolution but devolution, possibly a major Darwin award for a whole country.

A new USC study explains why people take stupid chances when all of their friends are watching that they would never take by themselves. According to the study, the human brain places more value on winning in a social setting than it does on winning when you're alone.

Georgio Coricelli of the USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences led a multinational team of researchers that measured activity in the regions of the brain associated with rewards and with social reasoning while participants in the study entered in lotteries.

Comment: Every time I come across a study about compliant humans, I just have to shake my head.... the vast majority of people will NOT rock the boat and will actively look around to see what others are doing before taking any action... safety in numbers etc etc, smoke coming under the door, do nothing if everyone else is doing nothing and risk suffocating to death.... Well, be assured, I am not that type, hence I realised the significance of Space Weather 7 years ago and since I wrote my book Tuning The Diamonds (2006), I think I have proven that as part of my evolutionary progression, my brain has been re-wired from sheeple status.

Gravity Probe B and Related Matters

As is explained on the official NASA web page, ‘this experiment, launched in 2004, used four ultra-precise gyroscopes to measure the hypothesized geodetic effect, the warping of space and time around a gravitational body, and frame-dragging, the amount a spinning object pulls space and time with it as it rotates. Gravity Probe B determined both effects with unprecedented precision by pointing at a single star, IM Pegasi, while in a polar orbit around Earth. If gravity did not affect space and time, Gravity Probe B’s gyroscopes would point in the same direction forever while in orbit. But in confirmation of Einstein’s theories, the gyroscopes experienced measurable, minute changes in the direction of their spin, while Earth’s gravity pulled at them’.[...]

Francis Everitt, said, “Imagine the Earth as if it were immersed in honey. As the planet rotates, the honey around it would swirl, and it’s the same with space and time”. On the other hand, has a slight chink appeared in the armour?

A recent BBC posting refers to the Sun emitting vast amounts of magnetically charged plasma, a great deal of which enters the Earth’s atmosphere. The short introduction actually informs the reader that, aside from the three commonly known states of matter – solid, liquid and gas – there is another state, called plasma. It seems amazing that such a statement is felt necessary in 2011 and is possibly another indication of the present state of science and popular scientific knowledge.

The article then goes on to say that ‘a team of scientists at UCL’s Mullard Space Science Laboratory in Surrey is working to find out more about how the Sun’s plasma behaves and affects our planet. Dr. Lucie Green from the team - who is revealing her research at this year’s Cheltenham Science Festival - explains the properties of plasma.’ I would strongly suspect, Dr. Green might save herself a lot of time and effort as well as saving someone else a lot of money if, before proceeding with her investigations, she contacted several notable names associated with long term research into plasma cosmology and (dare I say it?) electric universe ideas.

Comment: It's interesting, that the uninitiated are having difficulties understanding why scientists are going to extraordinary efforts to measure the impact of space-time, when it is obvious that space weather has delivered a massive shift in the fabric of space-time. We are seeing example after example of how the shift is being perceived on Earth, but many still don't get it. Never forget, when scientists talk about space-time, they are refering to the "invisible" matter that metaphysical sources have always called the aether. The following is a quote in my book, provided by Dr Harold Aspden who created the Aether Lattice Theory. The quote comes from a conversation that occurred in 1954 when discussing Aspden's ideas of the aether. Both eminent scientists graduated with Ph.D.s from Cambridge University.

Dominion: North Anna Reactors Won't Restart Until Safety Assured

Dominion Virginia Power said Friday it won't restart the two nuclear reactors at its North Anna Power Station rattled by the Aug. 23 earthquake until the company is convinced it is safe.

The plant about 11 miles from the central Virginia epicenter of the 5.8-magnitude quake was shut down within seconds of the tremor that shook tens of millions along the East Coast. Officials at the Richmond-based company said the damage was only cosmetic and the plant is safe. Damage ranged from small buckles and cracks in tile floors in one of its technical buildings, to bolts of large metal parts that transfer power from transformers to the electrical grid and into homes.

Dominion also said the earthquake caused 25 massive nuclear storage containers at the plant to shift, but they remained intact. The containers are used to store used fuel and weigh about 115 tons when full. The company is evaluating whether to move the containers back, but said they are still safely spaced.

Comment: This is seriously ridiculous... at least when you are playing with fire, the consequences are immediate i.e. when you get burnt or you accidentally burn the house down, but with nuclear radiation 'accidents', the consequences go on for thousands of years... more info over at Energy News

The bland announcement from Geneva, timed to coincide with the publication of the CLOUD (Cosmics Leaving Outdoor Droplets) experiment's early results in the journal Nature on 25 August, was headed: "CERN's CLOUD experiment provides unprecedented insight into cloud formation." Jasper Kirkby, spokesman for the CLOUD team, kept his remarks technical and uncontroversial.

The reason the boffins are not dancing in the streets of Geneva is that they know they are dealing with material as explosive politically as a particle collision.

Comment: This is a great article with a brilliant headline.... The importance of this result needs to be understood by anyone interested in what is happening on this planet. Evolutionary change is being controlled and driven by the cosmo-climate. Evolutionary change means everything on the planet including human DNA. Think of cosmic rays as switches turning DNA on and off. When there are too many switches in ON mode, then DNA will allow for more and more mutations and that means either evolution or devolution. I have had some ignorant people saying that Space Weather has nothing to do with spiritual evolution, in fact some really nasty ignorant people pushing their idea of 'love'. My response is that Mayan Elders believe that monkeys were once humans who devolved... In fact, if you look back at a lot of authors who tried to tell us that aliens have been on this planet, maybe we should consider instead the alternative idea that humans have morphed considerably due to rapid evolutionary changes. Thus, I personally find it ironic that nasty nasty people pushing their cult beliefs really believe they know anything about spiritual evolution. All I know is that Universal Consciousness has the last say by 'interogating' the human energy field, pretending to be enlightened will not help. This is the process of the 'cosmic' inspection that Russian scientists warned the world about in the highly informative report, Planetophysical State of the Earth and Life [1998], which was the first scientific report to outline the ongoing transformation of every planet in our solar system.

Notre Dame Stadium Evacuated Twice

SOUTH BEND -- At kickoff, the heat index at Notre Dame Stadium was 98 degrees. And that was the least oppressive part of the weather Saturday.

The heat spawned two waves of severe thunderstorms that rolled through northern Indiana Saturday, delaying Notre Dame's battle with South Florida for nearly three hours.

"I'm from California. They don't have thunder and all that other crap," said running back Cierre Wood when asked if he had ever experienced anything like Saturday's atmospheric shenanigans.

Comet Elenin – the final prospect

As many readers already know, Comet Elenin has begun the irreversible process of breaking up. We spoke earlier about the probablility of such an outcome, but I considered it less than 50%. [...]

Now it is absolutely clear that the comet’s drop in brightness, first noted by Michael Mattiazzo on Aug. 20th, was not coincidental – the decay process had already begun, and over the course of the next several days the comet changed greatly. Its pseudo-nucleus became diffuse and extended, and later vanished completely. On images from Sept. 1st in the comet’s coma there was no condensation visible, and that meant the comet had already broken up into fairly small pieces, with a maximum size of not more than a hundred meters.

Such a breakup of small comets passing near the Sun is not rare, and in that is nothing surprising.

Comment: It's been quite interesting reading the post mortems on the conspiracy forums, but some have still not given up hope of some major disaster somehow, somewhere...

Can Climate Change Cause Mental Illnesses?

As climate change and its impacts on our planet and society are still debated, a new report by the Climate Institute of Australia warns against the devastating effects of extreme weather events on communities' mental health. [...] The document, published this week, also warns that up to 20% of affected communities will suffer extremes stress, emotional injury, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress and substance abuse. The study found that as severe weather events in Australia increase in number, "climate change will have many adverse impacts on Australians' health - physical risks, infectious diseases, heat-related ill effects, food safety and nutritional risks, mental health problems and premature deaths.

Comment: Well, it is not surprising that most people get depressed when their homes, livelihoods and their local communities are destroyed, if you did not feel something then you would be an android, but there are plenty who think being an android is OK. Those who have been conditioned to believe in the survival of the fittest or the New Age Law of the Jungle will obviously struggle when circumstances arise that are beyond their control, because it is impossible to control everything. As I have stated many times on this blog, mental illness will be acacerbated by the geomagnetic condituons. Many people are completely unaware that our planet is undergoing massive transformation, which will not be limited to the usual areas of the planet that are prone to geophysical events. Various governments and the United Nations are warning that things are going to get worse, and as the planet charges up to higher and higher levels, I believe that humans will suffer as we have simply not adequately prepared.

The effects of a rapidly changing, more volatile climate are now compounding long-lasting social and mental health problems, particularly in rural and regional communities and on the outskirts of our cities, says a new report released by The Climate Institute today.

The report — A Climate of Suffering: The Real Cost of Living with Inaction on Climate Change — will be launched at the Brain and Mind Institute by Professor Ian Hickie in Sydney today. It draws together the work of mental health experts and community practitioners, as well as survivors’ accounts of disasters, providing insights into the emotional trauma in communities affected by increasingly wild weather.

“Climate change is emerging as a major threat to mental health, with the trauma of extreme weather events manifesting directly, indirectly and through the broader impacts on communities, the economy and the environment,” said Dr Susie Burke, Senior Psychologist with the Australian Psychological Society.

The report says increased depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress and substance abuse emerge strongly in the wake of extreme weather, with up to one in five people likely to suffer emotional injury, stress and despair. In the recent drought, self-harm and suicide rose by up to 8 per cent, according to a study of rural New South Wales.

I-Team: Former Intelligence Officer Speaks of UFO's (Video)

Now, another local man has caused a furor among those who follow the UFO subject. He's a former Army intelligence officer, well known to 8 News NOW viewers, who used his contacts in government to track down saucer rumors.

"They are very real phenomena. I think we need to understand this will lead to a different understanding of how the universe is built," said Dr. John Alexander. Dr. Alexander is skeptical by nature, but not about UFO's. [...]

UFO's are real and I'm talking about physical reality. There are craft that are seen, balls of light flitting around, to craft -- some of them a mile and a half across. They show up on radar and are really here," he said.

But despite his acceptance of the basic UFO story, Alexander is viewed with suspicion and scorn by the pro-UFO crowd, "a real life man in black" someone called him. His frequent trips to UFO conferences are often met with overt hostility and tough questions. [...]

"My premise is we're not even to the point of asking the right questions. But the UFO community has decided what the answers should be," he said.

To extend his blasphemy even further, Alexander thinks UFO's are not necessarily extraterrestrial. The ultimate truth, he says, could be much more complicated. At a minimum, Alexander argues, people should be allowed to study this without fear of ridicule.

Comment: Every day it is becoming more and more obvious; the gods are back! The Ancestors have returned! There are orbs and UAPs are flying around in broad daylight without a care in the world and ufologists and world controllers are totally embarrassed. Why? Because a shadow biosphere on Earth despite the clear evidence, is not what has been propagated as popular UFO mythology. Quite frankly, it might take quite some time for the general public to get over it when the realisation finally sinks in... but hopefully, the cosmic identity crisis might help a few to spiritually evolve...

Mutant pig 'alien' born in Guatemala after UFOs seen in the sky
Aliens have been blamed for the freakish appearance of a pig born in the remote South American village of rural Santa Cruz El Chol.

Residents of the Guatemalan village have decided that the pig's odd human-shaped head is the doing of visitors from outer space, after strange bright lights were spotted hovering in the sky on the night of its birth. The poor pig, which is one of a litter of 11, has been described as looking like a cross between a human and something from the Alien movies. Farmer Laureano Escobar Arias said: 'I was shocked - it was a really terrifying experience. It looked like some kind of alien creature.' However, local health officials have suggested that there are more earthly reasons for the pig's appearance.

Comment: Well..... it's not the first pig to have been born in recent years with what looks like the wrong genetic information. Embryos grow to a pre-determined pattern that is held in electrodynamic or (aetheric) templates with information that is not all detectable with our current instrumentation. Metaphysical sources claim that these templates can be corrupted by stray extremely low frequency signals associated with earthquake precursor signals, but it is more usually accepted that cosmic rays, cosmic radiation and chemicals are mutagens that can impair the processing of DNA. I actually think this is similar to a "hideous" piglet born with a monkey head in China, see the archives for July 2008, but click here for an image comparison.

Space junk at tipping point, says report

Scientists in the US have warned Nasa that the amount of so-called space junk orbiting Earth is at tipping point. A report by the National Research Council says the debris could cause fatal leaks in spaceships or destroy valuable satellites.

It calls for international regulations to limit the junk and more research into the possible use of launching large magnetic nets or giant umbrellas. The debris includes clouds of minuscule fragments, old boosters and satellites.

The situation is critical, said Mr Kessler, a retired Nasa scientist, because colliding debris creates even more of the junk.

"We've lost control of the environment," he said.

The report makes no recommendations about how to clean up the field of debris.

Comment: Hmmm... I have been highlighting space junk because Space Weather is delivering more than just 'invisible' sub-atomic particles. The aetheric tide in the form of an interstellar debris cloud, is also delivering large and small rocks, meteoroids and cosmic dust and it poses the great potential for severe damage to the world's satellite communication infrastructure.
